Description

An imposing, secluded 4 bedroom villa set in probably the best location in Menorca. Situated on one on the most prominent hills in the 500 hectare country park this villa enjoys a 360 degree aspect, the sun setting behind the Monastery of Monte Toro, and yet only 15 minutes from the center of Mahon.

Second highest property in the park, after the original farm house, enjoying one of the most exclusive aspects and views of the island. The park of S’Albufera is the largest and most important wetland area in the Balearic Islands.

A long upward-sloping drive leads to a large graveled parking area and steps up to the house itself with bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor and a spacious living area above, taking advantage of those extensive views.

The upstairs front door leads into high vaulted open-plan sitting and dining areas and a well- equipped kitchen with electric oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The main sitting room has large comfortable L-shaped seating by a corner fireplace and a smart flat-screen TV connected to the Wifi and Sky dish, with DVD and music system. At the far end is a further sitting and dining area surrounded on three sides by fully opening windows onto more countryside views, with stairs down to the courtyard. Outside the kitchen, overlooking the pool area, there’s also a terrace with table and chairs for eight and sun-awning.

An internal staircase leads down to the ground floor.

Bedroom 1 has a king-size double bed with ample built in wardrobe storage, and an attached wet room with shower, wash basin and WC and French windows leading out to the courtyard. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and an en suite with shower over a bath, basin and WC and a door to the courtyard. Bedroom 3 is another with a double bed, built in wardrobe and French windows again to the courtyard and Bedroom 4 has twin beds, built in wardrobe, air conditioning and French windows into the garden with further access to the courtyard. There is also a family bathroom with separate shower cubicle, bath, washbasin and WC. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans, shutters with mosquito blinds and net curtains..

The attractive old courtyard provides plentiful sheltered space for sunbathing, an undercover area for alfresco dining, a Weber gas barbecue and in one corner a laundry room with washer, iron, ironing board etc which can also double as a summer kitchen with fridge, sink, built in cupboards and work surfaces for food preparation in conjunction with the barbecue.

A door from the courtyard leads through to the pool terrace. The roughly 10 X 9 meter pool is surrounded by terracing with ample space for sun loungers. There’s a sun shaded pergola with comfortable seating and an outside shower room with wash basin and WC.

The surrounding gardens, planted with a great variety of trees and shrubs including oleander, tamarisk, pomegranate, and citrus, are surrounded mostly by stone walls, behind which lie a further variety of native wild bushes and trees.

Although the property gives one a feeling of being so private and isolated the little fishing village of Es Grau, with a useful well stocked shop, a really child-friendly beach and beachside bars, is only a ten minute drive away. The port of Mahon, buzzing with activity, is about 15 minutes by car and the airport can be reached in under 20 minutes.

Tranquil escape

By Mark Hutchinson on 22-Jul-2023

We enjoyed a fantastic week at this tranquil villa, far enough from the madding crowds of Mahon, but yet a short drive. It enjoys an elevated position in the national park (so no mossies) and has amazing countryside views and sunsets. Lots of inside and outside space to enjoy and a great pool.

Beautiful and Tranquil

By Jane Crolley on 09-Jun-2023

We had a fantastic stay in the most beautiful villa. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us inside and the pool is a good size, with plenty of seating and shade around if we wanted it. Views were wonderful and sitting on the upper balcony was a must for sunrise and sunset. A car is essential for this villa as there is a very sharp turn to get to it - you get used to it but a little daunting at first. We would definitely stay again if there are a group of us. Perfect for our family with an age range of 19 to 88!

Cracking villa

By Jocelyn on 13-May-2023

The villa was fantastic. I knew we were in the beautiful park, but little did I know that I could sit on your veranda and hear nightingales, cettis's warblers, sardinian warblers and see kites and Opsrey all day long. The girls wanted a bit less wind, but that's May for you. the rooms were lovely, loads of hot water, good fridge, good cooker, good barbecue and the garden had plenty of varied spots to get in or out of the sun according to taste. I cannot think of anything that was lacking in the kitchen and there was even a salad spinner which no one ever has. In the uk we travel with a salad spinner because we are nuts, but it was great to have one. The pool was in very good order. Sun brollys and mats were very sueful on the beach. Much appreciated.
