This is our second time staying at the Plover cottage at Home Farm. As usual our holiday was great! The accommodation is lovely, well equipped and the facilities are a big plus for families needing to keep children happy ( games room and swimming pool are always a big hit even on rainy days). The location is very peaceful, a short walk the beach but central enough if you are looking to visit other places, parks etc...We drove to dinosaur adventure park, Pensthorpe Natural Park (this is a must!!) and Bewilderwood which are all less than 45 mins away. Sally and Paul are very friendly and make you feel at home. There is also the possibility to get massages done at home farm by the lovely Gaele but book early as demand is high . All in a fab place to stay!
We stayed in Barnetts Cottage, 5 adults with lots of room to relax. The cottage follows well with excellent facilities. I cooked Christmas dinner with ease. Endless supply of wood for the wood burner which added that extra Christmassy glow. The Ship serves lovely locally sourced food and the shop/cafe has a huge range of bits and bobs you may have forgotten or just can't resist. Will be staying again soon!
From the moment we drove into Home Farm, Sally was there to greet us and immediately brought all of the extras we had asked for into the cottage (cot, baby bath , changing mat, and high-chair). These were provided at no extra charge. She was on hand but not intrusive during our stay. We had specifically chosen Home Farm's Fleet Cottage because it is all on the ground floor and has a washing machine; practical essentials for our 9 month old toddler! Everything was as we expected and needed. The cottage was clean and well-appointed with details such as a clothes-airer and clothes pegs to dry wet laundry. Cozy beds with extra blankets even though the rooms were a good sleeping temperature; their is ample wardrobe and drawer storage space. The two-bedroom cottage has onlyone bathroom with toilet inside but it is big; most of the bathroom shelf space is within the airing cupboard so that is where we stored our wash-bags and the baby's spare nappies, etc. The kitchen has a large fridge and a real freezer - unusual in other holiday rentals we have stayed in! The oven door seems not to close tight but it cooks OK. The washing machine is new and there is a communal tumble dryer nearby that takes a 20p coin for every 10 mins (There are communal washing machines there too for the cottages that don't have one). The dishwasher works well. A wood-burning fire with a huge communal store of extra wood nearby, a residents-only swimming pool, and ample parking made the stay fun and even more comfortable. We regretted not booking a massage or treatment in the Beauty Room and would have if we had stayed longer than a week! We used Fleet Cottage as our base from where to explore the wintery North Norfolk coast; whether wandering along the Weybourne beach or travelling to Cromer and Wells-Next-the-Sea on day trips, we enjoyed coming back to the home comforts and warming Christmas decorations!
