Home away from home

By David Morrison on 05-May-2023

Boden Howe was a ‘home away from home’ for us - had everything we needed, lovely décor, very central, lovely views, ideal for extended family to join us for the celebration of the Coronation. Lots of local information provided, so we did some of the ‘recommended’ walks – fell in love with the Lake District! Excellent hosts. We hope to return, and would happily recommend it.

Exceeds all expectations

We prefer direct communication with the owners. We received clear details of our rental and answered all our questions with confidence. She met us at the townhouse herself and showed us through the exceptionally luxurious rooms and facilities. Helen and Steve promptly answered any question during our stay. Always there for their guests. The views from both the front and rear windows are breathtaking. Lush flower gardens in the rear as well as a beautiful patio among the gardens solely for our use made us feel it was our home and property. The windows on all 3 floors at the front of the home look over the fells surrounding Ambleside. The house is raised above the main streets and so the views are uninterrupted and the peace and quiet are exceptional. All bedrooms have side tables, closets and dressers. Bed linens are top of the line cotton, pillows comfy and mattresses are top quality. Blinds as well are tasteful and double lined to give privacy and shuts out the light. Two gas fireplaces in the dining room and the upper living room. Cozy furniture and tasteful paintings and decorative details. The kitchen is fully equipped in every detail. Top of the line appliances and freezer as well as separate fridge, pantry and a washing machine in the cellar. Dishes, pots and pans, dish towels are high quality and plentiful. Large dining room seating 6 overlooking the fells and forests surrounding Ambleside. Tesco supermarket is steps from the front door. The townhouse is a 5 minute walk to the Ambleside bus depot in town for buses to every corner of the Lake District. Sports stores, good restaurants and pubs, superb butcher, beautiful church, clothing stores, bookstores, art galleries, souvenir shops are all for your pleasure in town. The icing on the cake is the access to the neighbouring European spa and pool located in a high end international hotel. Dry sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, large indoor pool and plentiful lounges. Just perfect to unwind at the end of a long day. Many people return on a yearly basis and we will return as well. It is a chance to experience home away from home in England. Especially in the heart of the Lake District in all its stunning hiking trails, many right from your very doorstep.

Amazing Home From Home Property in Ambleside With Breathtaking Views By Steven Taylor Stayed 07-Aug-2022 We had a wonderful week stay in this incredible property. The host, Helen, was extremely welcoming and helpful. The property was spotlessly clean. We have been visiting Ambleside for many years and stayed in lots of different types of accommodation and this was by far the best. The views are breathtaking. Wholeheartedly recommend a stay here and will definitely return. 5 of of 5
