Granville House is a 400 year old Yorkshire laithe, now a popular location for gatherings of families and friends. You will have amazing views from all windows. This is tranquility realised, a hidden gem that will leave you feeling happier and healthier. Your holiday home is spacious, cosy and characterful, sitting along the old drovers track cycle route 68 and is a good starting point for the Pennine Way. Granville House is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Malhamdale and not far from the AONB of the Forest of Bowland. A paradise for nature lovers. There are otters in the River Aire and Otterburn Beck. Spot the kingfishers too. In the evening watch out for bats and owls or study the night sky without light pollution, the aurora can be seen from here. Be mindful of the hares, rabbits, deer or badgers as you drive along. We provide bird seed for your bird table too.
This is farming country and England at its best. Depending on the time of year, we either have spring lambs being born in the field opposite or gambling and pronking around in full view. After that the same field is often used for birthing calves up until mid autumn.

Bell Busk is nowadays a sleepy ancient hamlet, but it used to be the main terminus for the Dales when we had a railway station and silk mill. Before that the Romans were here walking up and down our lane. It is as tranquil or bustling as you want it to be. The countryside is beautiful and uncrowded but good facilities are within easy reach. There are lots of things to do round here with walks and cycle trails straight from the door.
You can shop till you drop in Skipton, Settle, Clitheroe or Ilkley or wander round the picturesque villages of Grassington, Malham, Haworth and Kirkby Lonsdale. You will have your very own mini tourist information centre to hand with leaflets and organised folders to help you plan your perfect holiday. You will find everything you need for a relaxing short break or month long holiday. There are games, DVDs, books, magazines, IPOD dock, 6MB WIFI and a TV with some satellite channels. There is a piano with sheet music and guitar. The hand built bespoke wooden kitchen is a cooks dream with good quality equipment, an Aga ( so always warm and cosy on arrival) and an Aga easy recipe book. The kitchen is a great sociable place. The wifi is provided at superfast strength in this large room so that if you absolutely have to use it whilst on holiday with your favourite folks, you have to be in the same room as them. Families and friends leave here really feeling that they have spent good quality time talking to the people they came here with.
The bedrooms are spacious and furnished luxuriously, with a 4 poster bed in the master bedroom. The bath is big enough for 2. We even have central heating and a log burner.
Just 1.5 miles away you will find a swimming pool and spa, fly fishing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, an off roading experience or falconry. The nearest bar there has 2 big open fires, choice of restaurants and amazing views, or try the cosy characterful fantastic gastro pubs nearby or the award winning Indian restaurant in Gargrave.

The garden is large at the back with table and chairs, we provide picnic blankets too, but there is an unfenced pond and an unfenced drop so children must be supervised at all times. Malham Cove can be seen from the back garden. The garden at the front is small and safe with table and chairs. There is off road parking for 3 cars. Granville House is 15 mins drive from the ancient town of Skipton, with medieval castle, 4 day market, canal, many shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. Easy access by road and rail - Skipton railway station has direct services from London Kings Cross. The local village of Gargrave has a well stocked Co-Op store wonderful deli and fish and chip shop. Hellifield, Aireton and Cracoe sell local produce. Settle, Malham and Grassington are also very close. Nearby places to visit include; Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Ingleborough, Pen Y Ghent, Whernside, Pendle Hill and The Pennine Way, The Trough of Bowland, Forest of Bowland, Gisburn Forest, Settle Carlisle Railway, Embsay and Keighley Steam Railways, Bolton Abbey, Skipton Castle, Grassington, Haworth, Clitheroe, Ilkley, Harrogate, Saltaire.

Gorgeous Cosy Cottage In A Beautiful Setting

Stayed with family and friends for half term Feb week. Lovely and clean, Jeanne the owner was there to give us a quick tour, which was helpful. The bedrooms were large and spacious, one with gorgeous power shower en-suite! Kids loved the musical instruments in kitchen diner which kept them occupied as the Wi-if was a bit hit and miss, especially upstairs. This wasn't too much of a bad thing though as we had to chat then!! The cottage is in a great location and we didn't have to drive on a couple of the days as there are lots of lovely local walks (and pubs!) nearby. So comfortable and relaxing, didn't want to leave, will definitely be returning!! Thank you! Xx

Lovely Cosy Relaxing Stay

From the moment we stepped inside it felt so cosy and homely, loved cooking on the Aga so easy to use. Lovely views from all windows, great watching the birds from the kitchen window, the owners supply bird food. There was a robin we nicknamed him "Bully boy" as he kept guard over the bird table and kept chasing the other birds away, it was funny to watch! The house felt so warm with the Aga and the log burner going. Great walks right from the front door and the surrounding area, ideal base for visiting Grassington, Skipton and Settle. Richard, Jeanne and Russet the dog were very friendly and made us feel very at home. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feel so relaxed it will be hard going back to work! Will definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay we are sad to be leaving the hosts we're very welcoming and helpful the cottage is very homely and comfortable well looked after property we would love to come back. Would recomend this place to everyone.
