Visit the Henley or Marlow Regattas or walk or cycle along the Thames Path or the Ridgeway National Trail. Bike storage is available. The cottage has just experienced a modernisation project and now provides a high standard of comfort yet maintains character features like wooden ceiling beams downstairs, latched pine doors and an attractive fireplace with a small wood burner. The luxurious downstairs bathroom and kitchen offer everything you may hope to find. We hope you will find it a real home from home experience. You will be able to enjoy WiFi, BT Sports channels, a lovely fully enclosed sunny garden, a welcome pack and complimentary bathroom products. We now accept credit cards which means you will be protected under UK Consumer Protection law, unlike if you book through one of the big American companies which either direct payments through USA or Ireland.
Watlington is reputedly England's smallest town and is a great place to explore. Look at the historic buildings, visit the 3 pubs and enjoy the shopping opportunities. The local shops are mainly independent and family run like a butcher, a chocolate shop, a beautiful lighting shop, a deli/ cafe, a Coop supermarket and an antiques shop. There is also a fish and chip shop and an Indian restaurant which also does takeaways if you don't fancy cooking.
From two off road parking spaces, walk through a gate into the fully enclosed sunny front garden with a patio area which includes a table and seating for 4 people and a BBQ. The front door leads into the cosy sitting room which has restricted head height due to the beam so anyone tall needs to be careful. Here there is a 2 seater leather sofa and 2 chairs, a foldaway dining table with 4 space saving chairs, a coffee table and a 32 inch SMART tv/ radio with BT OpenView channels which include 4 BT Sports channels for sports enthusiasts. Wifi is enabled. There is also a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. Children are not forgotten with a selection of toys and games too. A dog ( or maybe 2 small ones) is welcome downstairs only for an additional cost of £25 a week but we ask that you bring his/ her bedding and take him/ her for frequent walks in the fields just across the road. The garden is enclosed but we hope you wouldn't want your pet to be left there on his/her own. We also provide a holiday home tag, bowls, and a doggy towel.
Going through an open door way, you get to the country style kitchen with oak work tops. This is really well equipped for you to cook with an electric oven, ceramic hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave, fridge with ice box and much more. A restored pine door leads into a lobby with doors to both the bathroom and back door. The porcelain tiled bathroom is contemporary with a Hansgrohe shower at one end of the 1500mm bath, a mini hand basin, WC, a range of accessories, complimentary bath products and a washer/dryer hidden in a cupboard. A radiator and a separate electric towel rail ensure your towels are quickly dried. Outside is a small courtyard area with a secure cycle store (the former privy) Please note that bikes are stored at your own risk. The staircase also leads off the kitchen to the 2 bedrooms, both with a garden view. Enjoy relaxing in the comfortable double bed watching tv or reading a book from the small library. The hand crafted fully fitted wardrobe and drawers offer plenty of space for your clothes. The other smaller bedroom has a single bed with another base and mattress below and is best suited to 1 adult but a travel cot would fit in also or if you had 2 children there is just room for 2 beds but there is very little floor space. There is also a smaller fitted cupboard and drawers. A cot, high chair, changing mat and other baby kit can be provided on request.
A Wonderful Few Days
By Sam B on 11-Sep-2016
We had a wonderful few days in Jane's gorgeous dinky cottage. It may be tiny but lacks for nothing. We were time rich for once and spent a few hours just soaking up the sunshine in the front garden - it was almost too hot. Thank you Jane for all the lovely goodies in the fridge. Thanks too for the messages beforehand. We had a lovely time and would definitely return if we came back to that neck of the woods.

Cosy house perfect for a stay in Watlington. Toys for children and a great welcome from Jane. Perfect for four people.

This is a great place for a break in the countryside - the house has lots of character, and is comfortable and done up to a high standard, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The town is quiet, but with decent pubs, cafes and shops, and it makes a good base for the area, and the hills & trails nearby. Jane also went out of her way to meet us on arrival, and arranged a few welcome supplies to get us started.

Cute little cottage, Jane left a lovely welcome pack on arrival and when we had a little issue came personally to ensure it was fixed asap. A memorable stay in a very memorable cottage.

Wisteria cottage was a truly exceptional experience. Very well, tastefully and thoughtfully renovated. Everything was clean and fresh with every conceivable requirement met. Great job
