Description

Casa Pôr do Sol is our home, but is available for summer rental - see our calendar for available dates.
It is a zero-fossil fuel villa. All our energy comes from the sun, and we use battery storage, and air source heat pumps to heat water.
The villa is situated on the exclusive Monte Lemos development 10 minutes walk from the centre of Praia da Luz, and 1 hour drive from Faro airport. The location is very private. 3 of our 4 bedrooms are available during rentals, so we can accommodate up to 6 guests. There are 3 bathrooms.
The rental cost is fully inclusive, and is the same for each of the available summer weeks. There are no extra charges.
Casa Pôr do Sol was built in 2003, but we extensively upgraded the villa over a period of 9 months during 2023.
The villa is on three split levels. The master bedroom, on the third level, has a super-king sized bed, an en-suite bathroom, and its own terrace which faces south-west, and offers superb views. The other two bedrooms are on the second level. One has a double bed, an en-suite shower room, and its own terrace. The third bedroom has twin beds, and its own terrace, and a large family bathroom close by. All bedrooms are a similar size. The master bedroom and the double bedded room both have air conditioning. The twin and double also have ceiling fans. The master bedroom has a locking safe for your valuables. The upper landing has a desk/work station, and bookshelves with a good selection of books.
On the ground floor, there is a large open plan room, which has three large patio doors opening onto a patio overlooking the pool.
A media wall has a 50” 4K Smart TV (sign in to your U.K. streaming channels), and a Sonos music system. There is an extendable dining table with 8 chairs. The contemporary designed fully equipped kitchen and utility room have high-end appliances, including an American style fridge/freezer with ice maker and filtered cold water dispenser. All furniture, fitments and appliances are new.
The front hallway has a cloakroom. The back door from the utility room, opens directly onto the rear driveway where you park.
The open plan ground floor room is air conditioned. We have very fast fibre broadband, and Wifi is available throughout the villa.
A landline telephone is located in the lounge, which can be used for local calls.. A locking safe for valuables is located in the master bedroom.
There is a thatched pergola with dining area outside, which is perfect for outdoor dining on warm summer evenings. There is a kidney shaped salt water (no unhealthy chemicals) swimming pool, which is heated to 28 degrees and has a roller cover if required. The pool is serviced weekly. There are six sun beds on the pool patio. A pool safety fence can be installed prior to your arrival if you have young children. The villa is surrounded by gardens, and is fenced and gated so is very secure. There are extensive patios with tables and chairs, and a portable Weber barbecue.
The building, furnishings and fitments are to a high standard. To reduce environmental impact, the villa is equipped with solar panels and air-source heat pumps to heat the water, photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, and batteries to store the electricity. Grey water and sewerage from the villa is treated and re-cycled for use in the garden, along with stored rain water. There is a Type 2 car charger for guests who arrive in an electric car - please inform us beforehand. No fossil fuels (gas, oil, fire wood) are used.
Casa Pôr do Sol is fully compliant with the Alojamento Local licencing system for property rentals in Portugal. After all the appropriate health and safety inspections, we were granted the licence in May 2015. Our ​Licence Number is: 12733 / AL​. Any villa owners who rent their properties and who do not have this licence, are breaking the law.
Our villa management company's office is nearby. They will be on hand to assist with any information that our guests need, or to sort out any problems during your stay. They have managed the villa since it was built, and they know it very well. Their service is first class, and they will ensure that you have an enjoyable stay.
Our maid visits the villa twice a week, to clean, make beds etc, although we can make this less frequent if you prefer. All bed linen, towels and beach towels are provided. There will be a small essentials food welcome pack on your arrival, and if you wish, we can arrange a full grocery delivery to be at the villa when you arrive. Babies are catered for - there is a cot with bedding, and a high chair.
Praia da Luz is a beautiful small holiday resort with a superb safe beach. It has a good selection of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and 2 supermarkets. However, for much more choice, the lovely historic town of Lagos is only 4km away. Here, there are the major supermarkets: Continente, Intermarche, Pingo Doce, Lidl and Aldi.
Lagos has many superb restaurants and shops, museums, a beautiful marina, beaches, and much more.
If you play golf, you have a choice of 4 excellent courses within a 20 minute drive - Santo Antonio, Espiche, Palmares, and Penina.
Within a short drive from the villa, there are some of the best beaches in the Algarve: Luz, Meia Praia, Burgau, Salema, Figuera, and Furnas.
Access to the villa from Faro airport is very easy, via the very quiet A22 motorway. The journey takes just less than 1 hour. We can recommend car hire companies for rentals from the airport, or if you prefer, you can take one of the pre-booked shuttle buses.
We have been renting Casa Por do Sol for 20 years, and have many very happy clients who return to the villa regularly for their holidays.
However, as the villa is now our main home, we restrict rentals to two summer months - mid July to mid September.

Stunning improvements to villa!

We had another very nice stay at the villa. The modernisation improvements are stunning! The villa looks super, and so different. I particularly liked the lounge with the lovely fireplace, which is going to look so cosy in the winter! We also liked the new kitchen, especially the fridge. However, we didn’t do much cooking as we ate out most days or had takeaways or deliveries (Chinese, Indian, Pizza). Thank you for arranging the cot, high chair and pool safety fence to be up for our arrival. We had a lovely holiday with great weather - thank you!

Wonderful Villa

Excellent stay at a wonderful villa. Great location for going up and down the coast. Weather was spot on. Kids loved the pool and the beaches. Think we are going home a little more tired than when we arrived, but totally worth it! Hope to be back soon.

Relaxing Stay.

Beautiful villa, immaculately clean and everything we needed was available. The children really enjoyed the pool, and we all enjoyed the sunshine. We would happily come back again and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay not too far from the town.
