For the shopper Alicante and Elche have all the major stores of swish Mediterranean cities as well as being major tourist attractions. Alicante is also a serious stop for culture vultures with its international jazz festival, top class restaurants, concerts and international marina - host to the rich and famous and the starting point of the round the world yacht race. A late night taxi from Alicante to the apartment costs 15 -20 euros.

There is a bus and road train service running around Gran Alacant which can be useful for shopping expeditions.
The apartment has a safe where valuables can be safely stored . Beach equipment is available for use.
Great place for short break
By Mark R on 08-Nov-2017
Had a 4 day short break in this apartment. Firstly the location and proximity to the airport is excellent. The property manager met us as agreed at the apartment and showed us around the property. The property is exactly as detailed in the description . The outside space especially the rooftop terrace is very good and there are plenty of chairs and sun loungers. We ate at a number of good restaurants locally and up the road at Gran Alacant. Also has a day trip into Elche. Would recommend this apartment

Merci Jim !!!
A great holiday, all we wished for
By Brian & Teresa on 07-Jul-2017
The property is a large two bedroom apartment with an amazing roof terrace with views on all sides. It is maintained to a high standard and is fully air conditioned. The facilities and appliances are of a very high standard within Jim and Stephanies apartment. It is opposite the swimming pool which we facilitated our early morning swim every day.It is within a short walk to many restaurants and beaches. We would highly recommend this fabulous apartment and would consider it to be 5 star accomadation, can't wait to return. Brian & Teresa
Many thanks for the lovely review B&T - hope you'll return.
By Sara Dileta D on 21-Oct-2016
The apartment is nice and well equipped the kitchen! Rooms are big and there are lot of space in the living room. Roof terrace is lovely with a great view! We had a lovely holiday! The pool was nice and the area very quite! We fortunately had a car. The beach was not so far but we had to climb to come back and with a child was not so easy! So we could also visit other beaches and Alicante, that's a nice city! I reccomend this apartment. The manager was very kind because we could stay in the apartment till the afternoon! Our flight was in evening time! We hope to come back sometimes in the future!
Many thanks - I hope you do return.
Superb apartment would definitely recommend
By Helen K on 18-Sep-2016
My partner and I have just returned from a week in the apartment and we had a brilliant time, the apartment is like a home from home and has everything you need. The roof Terrace is great to lie on during the day and for dinner in the evening, the views from roof terrace are amazing. I would recommend a trip to lidl in Gran Alicante to stock up, although there is a number of supermarkets near apartment. Would definitely like to return in the future!
Thanks for the lovely review. I hope you do return. Jim
Great location and apartment
By Martin C on 07-Sep-2016
Great apartment to stay in. Great location from the Airport we found this excellent as we have young kids. Jim the apartment owner was excellent he provided us with all the information we required. The apartment had everything we required. The beach is approx 10 minutes walk away. This is one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to. The apartment, the pool and the area and around the apartments was spotless. The children's pool also was a great help. The local Zoo was a 15 min drive in a taxi. It was a great day out. I would recommend this apartment. The only dealings we had with the apartment manager was when we were let into the apartment so that says it all we had no issues at all. Thanks Jim we had a great week in your apartment.
Thanks for the great review M - I'm glad you all had a great time. Jim
Spacious villa great location
By Steven H on 10-Aug-2016
2 Adults 2 Children stayed for 8 days. We really loved the villa. Much more room than the pictures suggest. The pool is in view so we could watch the kids. The water is warm and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and we made some nice meals. Views from the roof terrace are spectacular. Arenales is a very nice Spanish resort but its a little short of shops for groceries. I would suggest hiring a car. Im so glad we did in the end..
S - Thanks for the lovely review.
By Mick & Siobhan on 25-Jul-2016
Nice apartment overlooking the pool in a quiet complex. Ideally situated for thoroughly relaxing holiday, great for kids, beach only 10 minute walk away, and it is close to the airport. Great apartment in a great location. The roof terrace has views of the mountains, sea and Alicante. There is shade up on the roof terrace with table, chairs, sun loungers, lovely spot to have your evening meal.

My husband and I had a very comfortable and lovely stay in this beautiful apartment. It was very clean and cosy. All the things we needed for our stay was there and we could enjoy the sun all day long. We would really like to come back here next time we travel to Arenales.

los arenales property 408373
By Anonymous on 25-Sep-2015
This was our third year in a row at this property, (going again next year). We have always found the property clean and well maintained and have had excellent communication from Jim, the property owner, both before and after our holiday. I think what keeps us going back is the total chill out that we get at the property, we use the sun roof all the time, with it's sun-loungers to catch the rays, and it's table and chairs for lunch or a drink, it's a perfect alternative to lying on the beach, and it's only for your apartment to enjoy so you get the place to yourself. At the beach there is a long prom. that runs the full length of the main road and the Bella Vista restaurant at the bottom of the hill on your way to the beach, is a great place to dine and watch the world (and locals) go by, it also does a great 3 course lunch with a salad, bread and a drink (beer or bottle of wine) for 10 euros a head. Los Arenales has a long sandy beach and is safe for swimming, there are lots of eateries and places to stock up for your stay, but it's best to get the bus to Grand Alicant (2euros) and stock up at the supermarket and get a taxi back (7-10 euros). The walk from the flat to the beach/shops is all down hill and only takes about 5 mins. but the climb back up can be hard going, especially after a big meal, but there are easier routes to walk, although they are a wee bit longer, but we find it's worth it. There's not a lot of night life in Los Arenales itself, there is an Irish bar but there are no clubs that we've seen, so it's not a rowdy place. I would recommend the apartment for couples/families who are looking for a quiet/relaxing holiday, but also have the opportunity of getting about to explore the neighbouring towns. Pete.

Total chill out holiday
By Anonymous on 14-Sep-2014
Just back from a very relaxed stay at Los Arenales, we spent most of the time just chilling out on the sun roof (that is for your private use only). We put the sun loungers to good use and had dinner up there at night, followed by a bottle of vino, very romantic with just the roof lights and the moon shinning down. The apartment was very clean and well maintained, we found all the appliances to be in working order, it's great to have a fridge with a freezer dept. so you can stock up for a few days. The ceiling fans and A/C were put to good use as the temp. was up in the 30s. The walk down to the beach is down hill, so that's ok, with miles of sand and plenty of space to top up your tan, there are some very good places to eat at the front, with some doing a 3 course meal plus a drink for 9 euro. There are easier ways back up to the apt. if your are pushing a buggy because a direct assault back the quick way down might prove a bit energetic. We would recommend this holiday apt. for people who are passed the stage of going out clubbing every night, and just want a fairly quiet and relaxing holiday, you can get about on the local buses and the fare is very cheap, or there is plenty of parking if you decide to hire a car. This was our second time at the apt. and we will definitely be back again. Pete.& Carol

My husband and I stayed in Los Arenales with our three kids for two weeks and we had a great time. The apartment was very comfortable, having everything we needed. The roof-top terrace was a huge bonus, which we used extensively everyday, both for our meals and for lounging outside. The pool was used frequently and was a big hit with our kids. Los Arenales is a great holiday spot, having one of the prettiest beaches we have seen, very clean and within short walking distance. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we will most definately come again.
Many thanks for the lovely review V . I hope you will return in the future

Lovely apartment with sunroof
By Geoff R on 25-May-2014
A lovely apartment with a great sunroof with sun loungers ideal for relaxation to sit, read sleep or sip wine in the sun ! The apartment is very clean and has everything you could need. Los Arenales has a lovely promenade ideal for an evening stroll and the beautiful sandy beach is perfect for children. We used the big supermarket at Gran Alacant a short ride away which has an excellent fish counter, great for cooking a paella! There are lots of bars and restaurants in Los Arenales but as we were there early season not all were open. A visit to El Altet, a typical Spanish town with bars and restaurants is worth a visit..good for a tapa or two. Jim the owner was most helpful when booking and there's also lots of info in the apartment. Would definetly visit again .

We are a family of 4 people, us 2 and 2 teenage girls. The flat was perfect for us, very clean, super-equipped and jim is a very organized and welcoming host. The position of the flat is perfect as it is very close to the beaches, very close to Alicante but away from the mess...the terrace has stunning views , the swimmingpool very convenient and I think that the value for money is really good. Recommended . Valeria Franchi Bardavi
Many thanks for the lovely review.
By Fay M on 14-Nov-2013
This apartment and everything that went with it was just as advertised. From the time Steve picked us up from the airport and Dave meeting us at the apartment we had the most super holiday. The roof terrace with its views and sunsets are just fabulous. The beach is fantastic although the walk back up to the apartment is quite steep but not impossible. The apartment is in a gated area and the pool just across from the apartment is great. The temperatures in October this year were really good and we hardly had a cloud in the sky. We would definitely recommend this apartment if you are looking for a quiet location but still within walking distance of the beach and bars. Buses are also in abundance and a cheap way of getting around. Hopefully we will return.
Many thanks for the lovely review Fay - I hope you will return - Jim
Great apartment with fabulous roof terrace
By Anonymous on 04-Nov-2013
This is a lovely apartment overlooking a communal pool. We holidayed in late October and the sun was still blistering hot so we took full advantage of the large roof terrace which spans the length and breadth of the apartment.Unlike some hotels/apartments I have stayed in the past, the air conditioning system is very effective and is fitted throughout the flat providing for a comfortable night's sleep. The stunning Los Arenelas beach is only a 5 minute walk, as are bars, restaurants and supermarkets. For those not content with a beach holiday, there are regular buses to neighbouring towns and the main centre of Alicante. We found the standard of food when eating out to be generally very good and reasonably priced but would particularly recommend the Dutch place in Carabassi and Asian Fusion in Gran Alicant. There is a fully equipped kitchen in the apartment for those who want to cook their own. There is also English TV, a dvd player and plenty of books to chill out with of an evening. Would definitely recommend.
Hi K & M - thanks for the lovely review. Looking forward to you returning in the future. Jim
Last minute break

We have just got back from a lovely 4 night break in your lovely apartment. It was just what we needed and want to thank you for all your help in making the last minute trip so successful. It all went to plan and your contacts with Dave and Steve were especially helpful. The weather was great and we managed to get around the area really well using the buses too. Thank you once again and we definitely be in touch again.
Many thanks C - hope you will return. Best regards- jim
Excellent location for quiet relaxing holiday
By Anonymous on 03-Oct-2013
We stayed at this property during the last 2 weeks of September and were really pleased with the cleanliness and facilities of the apartment We were met at the apartment by Dave who showed us where everything was and how it all worked. We really enjoyed spending time on the rooftop solarium that was well furnished and provided excellent views of the area. During our stay the location of the apt. was very quiet which was great for a peaceful holiday. We found getting to the beach, shops and restaurants using the steps across the road was fine going down, but too steep coming back, but there are other roads that are less steep. The beautiful sandy beach had excellent views towards Alicante. Along the promenade are a few shops and restaurants. We liked the Bellavista restaurant which offered good food at good prices. Booking was straight forward, and Jim the owner was very helpful by sending lots of info.about the resort and surrounding area. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, we enjoyed it so much that we are going back next year. Pete & Carol.
Thanks for the lovely review Pete and Carol - booked already for next year!. Best regards Jim
Fantastic roof terrace with ocean view
By Karina D on 10-Sep-2013
My parents and I stayed at the appartment for one week in September and we absolutely loved living in sunny Arenales. The home was as described and pictured and was well-maintained. We were picked up at the airport by the private driver Steve and he also drowe us back to the airport because we had a very early flight back to Denmark. It is also possible and cheaper to take a bus to Arenales but we chose the other solution where we were taken directly to the appartment and saved time. When we got there we were met by the property manager Dave who showed us around the appartment, gave us the keys and answered all our questions. The best thing about the appartment was without a doubt the big roof top terrace where we had a view of the ocean, the airport and the surrounding landscape. The weather was really good all week so we ate all our meals on the terrace and used it for sun bathing - when we didn't jump in the pool a few steps from the appartment or walked to the beach which took about ten minutes. The walk to the beach is downhill so when you return home it is a bit steep and hard, especially if you have done some grocery shopping at one of the small supermarkets at the promenade. But after a few days you get used to it and the hills offer great views. Besides it was good to get some exercise from all the food we ate :-) But I must say that you need to have quite strong legs to walk up and down the steep streets, otherwise this holiday destination propably isn't the right place for you. We went on day trips to Alicante and Santa Pola and it is very easy to take the bus as soon as you know the timetables and where to get of. The busses arrive in Arenales about once every hour and they tend to be 5-20 minutes late. So don't get nervous if the bus doesn't arrive on time. There are several "tourist" restaurants in Arenales along the promenade, both Chinese, Spanish, Irish and Italian, and we found that the italian food was of the best quality. There are three small supermarkets where you can get most things you need to cook your own meals, but they are a bit more expensive than if you take the bus to one of the neighbour citys to shop. Also the meat selection in the small supermarkets is very poor, but there are plenty of vegetables to choose from. We really loved our stay and wish our vacation lasted longer - we might return to Arenales and the appartment in the future.
Many thanks K and parents - hope you will return. Jim
Unas vacaciones un singulares
By Cecilia V on 04-Sep-2013
The deposit was not returned to this party. They breached the rental agreement terms. They contracted for 5 persons but the party was 7 persons. The apartment was left in a filthy state and required 2 additional hours of cleaning. There were damages to the bathroom and kitchen utensils. There was smoking in the apartment despite this not being permitted and cigarette debris in the pot plants. The awning on the terrace was damaged. This party was given the rental agreement and requirements relating to maintaining the property as they found it. They were abusive and disrespectful towards the Property Services Manager and the owner. They broke the rules and responsibility for forfeiting the deposit lies with them.
Perfect holidays in Spain
By Flemming P on 04-Aug-2013
We, 3 adults from Denmark, have stayed 12 wonderful days in Jim and Stephanie’s apartment in Arenales del Sol. The apartment is super-equipped with everything you need, including kitchen-equipment where all machines etc. worked with absolutely no problems. In addition Jim and Stephanie has made great descriptions of the area nearby which helped us a lot (especially how to take the bus). We could definitely wish to rent this apartment again for our summer holidays sometime in the future, and we would like to recommend it to everybody.
Thanks for the lovely review and for being such great guests - hope you will return. jim
Great apartment with great roof terrace
By Anonymous on 24-Jul-2013
We just returned from a great week in this lovely and well equipped apartment situated just in front of a marvellous and child-friendly pool. We we well taken care of from start of the booking up to our return. The owner provided us with an excellent service and a lot of usefull information and tips. When we got there everything was clean and tidy with nice rooms a nice kitchen and a great rooftop terrace. Close nearby is probably the best beach in Spain - perfect for families with both young children or toddlers. We had a fantastic stay and can definitely recommend this to everybody looking for perfect holiday.
Hi B - glad you and your family had a lovely time - hope to see you back sometime in the future. thanks for being great guests. best regards jim
a wonderful stay
By Elizabeth N on 12-Nov-2012
I had a wonderful week in Arenales, off peak in late October with gorgeous sunshine, and took full advantage of all the benefits of this smart, bright apartment: its sun-drenched balcony overlooking the pool, the sheltered roof terrace with its wraparound view of sea and mountains, the neat everything-included kitchen for happy suppers (when not exploring great restaurants within strolling distance - welcoming even this late in the season) and the widescreen TV with all UK channels. Didn't need a car, walked to the beach every day for breezy hikes along the waves, buses on hand to towns nearby, taxis for shopping, or pubbing. Folders of maps, brochures and local tips and timetables provided an excellent guide to the village and nearby Alicante, shelves of good books were on hand for tranquil moments of down time. Every detail of this apartment shows how seriously the owners take the task of making you feel at home. The immediate surroundings feel secure and friendly. Everything was clean, convenient, stylish and welcoming. A very professional operation with a personal touch. I look forward to a return visit, and will certainly recommend it.
By Niamh N on 26-Aug-2012
We had a lovely stay in this very well-equiped apartment. The roof terrace was great, as was having the pool so close by. We had no problems whatsoever and would definitely return on a future holiday.
Hi Niamh - thanks for the comments - look forward to you returning.
Spacious and spotless apartment
By Jenny Q on 23-Aug-2012
Had a very welcome early break in March at this duplex apartment. All the details given in the listing were accurate. The apartment was roomy, had everything you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean. The owner was extremely helpful with information and photos of the apartment and surrounding area. There was also a folder in the apartment containing information about places to visit, transport etc. Even this early in the year, we were lucky enough to have a few hot and sunny afternoons when we were able to sunbathe on the large roof terrace. Arenales del Sol has a lovely beach and promenade with restaurants and a few shops but it was very quiet this early in the season - restaurants opened for lunch but were closed in the evenings. The exception was Sunday when crowds of Spanish people descended on the resort - it was really buzzing! We found the local bus service excellent and it is very easy to take day trips into Alicante or other local towns such as Elche and Santa Pola. The bus stop for buses to the airport is just outside the apartment complex so, although we requested airport pick up on arrival, it was no problem to take the bus back. Now we know which bus to take and where to get off we would take the bus from the airport next time. On the advice of the owner, we ordered a taxi to the nearest large supermarket in nearby Gran Alacant to stock up for the week which was handy. However there are quite well-stocked local smaller supermarkets in Arenales del Sol itself. There are phone nos of local English taxi drivers in the apartment should you wish to use them. The only drawback of going so early in the season was the fact that all the local restaurants were shut in the evening. We usually ate out at lunchtime either locally or wherever we were that day and didn't really mind this as much as we initially thought we would. Would warmly recommend this immaculate apartment - we couldn't fault it. The owner had thought of everything people might need and supplied it. Hope to return soon!
Many thanks for the lovely review and we would be delighted should you return.
By Sinead L on 14-May-2012
Very well equipped, clean, airy apartment. Anything you need for indoor or outdoor use and comfort, it's there! Excellent security to the complex and actual apartment. Choice of outdoor areas to use; the patio overlooks the pool or the spacious roof terrace which is very private. It's equipped with a roller awning which is perfect for children or fair skinned holidaymakers like ourselves! The walk back from the beach with a pushchair only took 10 minutes even though it's uphill, but it's manageable. Good choice of restaurants, particularly recommend Al Dente. Food and drinks excellent and reasonably priced. The owner speaks fluent English and goes out of his way to offer brilliant customer service. Alicante provides a great day out. It takes 25 minutes costing 1.50euro. Buses leave Arenales approximately every hour- even with a pushchair this wasn't a problem as there is storage underneath or take the pushchair on. Places to visit there include the historic district, harbour, castle and a multitude of restaurants and cafes. We will definitely return as you can have it all - a peaceful holiday, walks along promenade or beach, restaurants or bars, but also lots to explore cheaply and in the close proximity.
Many thanks for the lovely review - look forward to you returning in the future.
Enjoyable holiday home
By Samuel W on 10-Nov-2011
Recently visited holiday home in Arenales, Alicante and have had an enjoyable time. Nice location, very quiet and great views from apartment. The solarium is a great feature and the general layout and furnishing of the apartment is good, the AC especially useful on hotter days. The airport is only 15 minutes away and we used the bus to get to the apartment costing a mere 1 euro 30 cents which is excellent value. Alicante city centre was a 20 minute bus ride and Gran Alcant a 10 minute. Beach was lovely and clean and a 5 -10 minute walk. We found the owner Jim to be very helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. One disappointment was dealing with the property manager Dave who we found to be quite the opposite, unhelpful and unapproachable; fortunately we didn't have to deal with him too much. Check out time is 10am and there didn't seem to be much flexibility in that. The property manager was waiting outside the apartment at 9.55am on our day of departure so if you happen to have a late flight make sure you have somewhere in mind to stop off before going to the airport. It was on the whole a great holiday home and represents good value for money.

Great time in September
By Tomasz B on 25-Sep-2011
We've spent a great time in Arenales del Sol in September 2011. Below are the most important (for us) pros and cons: pros: - great weather, sun and warm water - beautiful, sandy beach, clean water - about 10 minutes to beach - but quite steep path - apartment with all necessary stuff - maps, folders and other informations provided by owner are very helpful - 10 meters from the pool - good bus connection with Alicante, airport and Gran Alacant cons: - not so much activities in the closest area - some off-the-season inconveniences - no Internet connection in the apartment (and only few places outside) Summary: It was one of the best holidays we had. Quiet and safe place to spend some time.

A great relaxing holiday
By Kris P on 30-Aug-2011
We all had a great time at the apartment, weather was fantastic every day, everything ran so smoothly, the facilities at the apartment were great, we found we had everything we needed there, we went out for a few day trips to Gran Alancant, Alicante and Benidorm and found your information leaflets very handy, once we had worked out where the bus stops were just a short walk down the steps infront or down the streets to the left we used them nearly everyday, and with them costing so little. The views from the roof terrace are amazing, we spent a few nights up there having some food and a few drinks. The pool is lovely and being just across the way from the apartment was a nice relief after the days heat which i think topped 37 degrees, to which the air con came in very handy with those temperatures during the nights. Everything was great, picked up and dropped off by Rob, the apartment was loved by our friends, my partner and myself, we had everything we needed, we all had a great time, and would love to use the apartment again in the future, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great gataway, A pleasure to deal with owners right from the beginning, if your looking for a stress free holiday, i would recommend this apartment, Many thanks, Kris and Sarah.

Excellent holiday apartment
By Cloudy Beer on 31-May-2011
We have just spent ten days in this apartment and had a great time. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s very secure in a newish complex. The roof terrace was excellent with plenty of equipment for sunbathing and relaxing. The views were great. The Sony TV was of good quality and we could watch English TV and audio channels via the Satellite connection. We were shown around the apartment by Dave on our first day and he was very helpful and informative. We did not use a car as Buses and Taxis are cheap. It takes about ten minutes to walk down to the sea front. The steps across the road were steep and we found it less demanding to use the roads on either side of the steps. Arenales is a modern Spanish area with a long palm tree lined beach road. The bus service runs along this road to Santa Pola and Gran Alicant in one direction and Alicante in the other. All are well worth visiting. The fare to Santa Pola which has an excellent market is only €1.30 and that to Alicante €1.40. It’s important to familiarize yourself with the timetables and bus stops. The buses display where they have departed from rather than where they were going to which can be confusing at first. The buses are generally hourly so allow extra time as times are approximate. The bus to Elche, which is a large town, leaves and returns from the same stop. This stop is only a few minutes walk from the complex; just turn left out of the gate. We used the tram (trains) from Luceros station which is underground and about ten minutes walk from Alicante Bus station. The tram system is really great and costs little to access Benidorm and beyond. We went to the Bella Vista restaurant for its buffet meal on the Sunday. The food was brilliant and not too expensive. Our dealings with Jim, the owner, were excellent. He made sure that all arrangements went very smoothly. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday and would absolutely consider using this apartment again. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

This lovely apartment was well furnished and clean, with everything necessary provided, including beach chairs which were used nearly every day. The only thing i would suggest is that there should be a mirror elsewhere in the apartment besides the bathroom - didn't like using hairdryer in the bathroom and was awkward using the mirror whilst someone else is in the shower! It is only 2 bedrooms, not 3 as advertised but i think there is a bedsettee in the living room. The rooftop sun terrace was excellent and the pool is just across from the apartment which was very handy to go to and from as there is no seating around the pool area. We really liked the village of los areneles, there was plenty of choice of eating places despite it being out of season, would recommend the Chackra (they had live spanish music on when we ate there), the Bellavista and the italian restaurant. We walked to Gran Alicant one evening but much preferred Los areneles. The owner, Jim. was very helpful whilst we were making the booking, however, we found the property manager, Dave, discourteous and unapproachable when we had to telephone him 3 days before arrival. We were very pleased that we were able to deal with the minor problems we had whilst there ouselves as we didn't feel like we could call him. We really enjoyed our weeks holiday, it was very relaxing and the weather was perfect. We would recommend the property, as long as people are able to walk the steep hill/steps to the complex.
