Villa Bergolo is a traditional Piedmont stone farmhouse with it own private swimming pool, that has been beautifully restored to an exceptional standard, suitable both for Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering holidays.
Built on the hillside above the Bormida river and just below the historic medieval town of Bergolo, it has a breath taking panoramic view over the valley, catching the sunlight throughout the summer days and experiencing amazing sunsets in the evenings.
The Farmhouse: Villa Bergolo with 3 lovely double bedrooms , with generous sized en-suite bathrooms. A perfect place to chill and relax, both for couples and families. In addition to this we have a double sofa bed in the living room which makes for a comfy night’s sleep, this is good for extra guests. In addition we can change the double beds and replace with two single beds. Also there is room to add a put up bed or cot. The whole house has Wifi, so you can still catch up with emails or just Skype home. The large Farmhouse kitchen has everything you would need to cook. With an extra-large range cooker, dish washer, microwave, toaster, glasses, cups & plates. Adjacent to the kitchen is the breakfast room which can sit up to 8 people. There is a high chair for a baby or toddler. All rooms have a T.V except the kitchen. The farmhouse suitably sleeps up to 6 adults plus 2 children, toddlers or young teenagers.
We only ever rent out one part of the property at a time to one family or group to give totally privacy. We never have more than one family at a time.
The Barn: adjacent to the farmhouse is a newly renovated self-contained apartment that has 3 double bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has its own en-suite with windows looking over the courtyard and country side. The second double bedroom is just off the open plan living room / kitchen area. There is an additional bathroom. The third double bedroom is on a mezzanine floor, it is in the eves of the roof, which add to the romantic feeling of this rustic Barns renovation. The apartment comes with a large open planned lounge / Kitchen. The family friendly front room has two large sofas. The kitchen has a country feel to it and come complete with washing machine, gas cooker/hob & fridge freezer. The farmhouse dining table can seat up to 8.

So you can choice depending on your party size, we can offer you three different options. 1) The double room bed and breakfast. 2) The Farmhouse that sleeps up to 6-8 comfortably. 3) The Barn conversion adjacent to the Farmhouse which sleeps between 6 – 8. Or for the even larger family holiday you can combine the farmhouse & barn together sleeping between 10 – 12 comfortably.
Originally the hub of a hazelnut plantation, the villa is surrounded by fields, trees and gorges which create a landscape where there is a different view around every corner. The twisting and sometimes steep country lanes are variously cut into the rock, bridged over ravines and simply bordered by rolling fields.
It’s the ideal location for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The area, part of the Alta Langa, is famous for its' medieval castles, wines, cheeses, gourmet food including truffles, and of course, hazelnuts – many of which are grown for Ferrero and enjoyed throughout the world.
If hiking and walking are things that you enjoy doing, there are many attractions that can be reached on foot. One of the most scenic of all walks that visitors can experience is the trip to the Castle of Prunetto. The views from this historic castle are nothing less than breath-taking. The castle itself dates back to the Roman Age and is one of the oldest in the region. Visitors who come often love to take pictures, so remember to bring your camera along.
This region of Italy is known for its great selection of vino, a wine lover’s paradise. A visit to Isolabella della Croce is definitely a great opportunity to sample some of the areas’ best wines. Be sure to stop by while you are here. Food is another thing this region is famous for and there a many fine restaurants to try. L’Bunet is one of Bergolo’s excellent restaurants and they have really great traditional Italian food, including some of the best spaghetti in town. Another restaurant that is popular with tourists and locals alike is Osteria Langhet. People who come here often return again & again.
Along with delectable foods and wines, Bergolo also provides an impressive range of activities and events to occupy the visiting traveller. The fresh clean air and stunning views will lure holiday makers outside. The variety of nature trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and leisurely walking, can keep you busy all day. On days you don’t want to travel, you can swim, play tennis, volleyball, or simply relax on one of the terraces, a typical Langhe tradition. During the summer evenings, Bergolo hosts numerous lively and entertaining concerts. The commune has just finished the outstanding building of an amphitheatre, where you'll be able to sit under the Italian stars & watch live performances.
If you want to travel further afield, Alba, known for its white truffles and where they hold the annual Langhe Food and Wine Festival’s is a short trip away. Of course, if Barolo wine is of interest, one could simply travel to Barolo itself to taste of the wine and see the archaic but charming castle that presides over the municipality. Barolo itself holds a wine festival, called the Itinerary of Taste, which attracts and welcomes street artists, jugglers, actors and musicians as well as villagers and tourists.
The Piedmont region, known for its picturesque vistas of rolling hills, has so much more to bestow on the traveller than just wine and food. In Northern Piedmont, visitors to Cherasco can enjoy the enchanting antiques and collectibles market with all types of ceramics, kitchen utensils, hand-made linens and antique bric-a-brac.
In the nearby province of Turin, tourists can roam the halls of the Savoys' Royal Palace and, if the TIMING is right, can see the Holy Shroud which is kept in Turin, which is only on show once every 10 years.
