The title sums it up really. A very beautiful place to stay, with flowers and lemon trees and a great bbq area. A nice sized pool, and roof terrace where we ate our meals overlooking the mountains. We will be back!
The charming Casa Margarida was an absolute delight to stay in. We had a lovely family holiday here and enjoyed exploring the beautiful Algarve. The Villa is very conveniently placed, just outside Carvoiero village, near shops and also just a short walk to the beach (or a short drive to many other gorgeous beaches too!). It has a great view from the roof terrace - a lovely place to have lunch or enjoy an evening drink as the sun goes down. There are so many places to eat and spend time outside in the extensive gardens and terraces, with a dedicated BBQ area and a shaded veranda for when the sun is a bit too hot! It’s absolutely ideal for alfresco living. The house itself is rustic and has lots of traditional little things that give a nod to the local heritage (the tiles in the bathroom for example). It’s a good size with a nice open plan living area, complete with log burning stove that keeps the place toasty warm on cooler nights. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need for cooking etc. Overall, a lovely little Villa that is in an amazing location - so much to do and see. A family friendly place to stay – and the pool is just lovely, with loads of space to relax on all the loungers and chairs that are provided. I’d thoroughly recommend Casa Margarida – a wonderful place to stay. Top recommendations for the area: 1. Smugglers beach (signposted as ‘Praia do Carvalho’) – you access this beach by walking through a tunnel carved through the cliff face by old Portuguese smugglers! A beautiful beach and fantastic for swimming too 2. Wander across the cliffs along to Carvoiero village and get some ice cream to eat as you watch the sunset from the big boardwalk – there are also some amazing cave formations that are well signposted and worth a look. 3. Slide and Splash – a great waterpark for the family or young folks looking for a fun day out 4. Check out some of the fab restaurants (there are cards on top of the fireplace with previous guests recommendations) – ‘O Barradas’ was a standout for me!
Traditional Portuguese villa felt at home within and the outdoor space and pool were stunning, happy place to be. Hilly if walking but fine if like walking - 20 mins walk to supermarket.
