We had a brilliant, totally relaxing week in the 2nd week of October. Very comfortable villa that had everything we needed. Great location with both sea and mountain views close to Kalives and Chania. Loved the area and will be back.

We were pleased to have taken a taxi from the airport to the villa as we were unfamiliar with the route, (though we later found the instructions to be very accurate and helpful.) The steep climb to the villa from the Provarma road was daunting, not just to us - but the taxi driver too! (Taxi4Crete.gr) Kostas Kourgiantakis runs the family business, and the drivers are local, very friendly and knowledgeable. It cost us 50 Euro's each way from Chania airport. As we were without transport that first day, we asked Christine if we could order some groceries to be delivered to the villa. Christine did this with pleasure, and we settled the bill with her afterwards. Our holiday began immediately we arrived with cold beers in the fridge. The villa is so comfortable, we soon relaxed. The following morning, a car was delivered to the villa from Auto Club and from then on we were happily independent. Contact John Warwick who was very helpful about this. There is an Auto Club office in Kalyves, the local town with has a good supermarket for supplies and beautiful beaches, plentiful taverna's, cafe's and restaurants, lots of shops and really nice people. But our favourite supermarket was in Stylos. Small, not too expensive, and very personal. We enjoyed buying ice creams, and having coffee, or beer at the taverna next door. Stylos is about a 35 minute walk, downhill from the villa, and surprisingly, only a 38 minute walk back up! Hire a car, brave the hills, this is a beautiful part of Crete, and very much worth exploring. When you return to the villa you will be welcomed by comfort, air conditioning, a lovely pool, amazing views, and will be disturbed only by the sound of the Cicadas and Owls. We highly recommend this villa, the owners, car hire and maintenance team; it’s comfort and location.

Our holiday was wonderful and relaxing. The villa was superb and the location and views amazing. Chaina was a beautiful traditional town with lots to see and do. We hired a car and travelled the island including visiting ruins and very old churches. Loved Crete!
