Villa Alexander is one of only 4 beautifully designed modern villas that make up the small, exclusive development of Gennadi Hills, located on the edge of the traditional, year round village of Gennadi on the South East coast. Ideally situated in peaceful surroundings of olive groves and open countryside yet just a few minutes stroll to the village where there is a good range of facilities including supermarkets, a bakery, green-grocery, ATM, motor cycle hire and a number of bars and tavernas. A short walk takes you to one of the island's coveted blue flag beaches and beach front tavernas. A little further along the beach is a modern beach bar serving good food, drink and cocktails and providing free sunbeds. A pharmacy and medical centre are located between the village and beach.
The villa's split level, air-conditioned ground floor comprises a fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher, lounge, separate dining area and bathroom. The two en-suite bedrooms on the first floor have their own private sea view balconies and air-conditioning. Outside there is a south facing private pool, garden, 2 large terrace areas for sunbathing and alfresco dining, a traditional Greek BBQ and ample off road parking.
The location would ideally suit families and couples of all ages.

We have just spent a fabulous 11 days at the Alexander Villa. The villa is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday in an authentic Greek Village. We didn’t venture very far as the temperature was too hot for us to do anything other than sunbathe by the pool or down at the beach. The village has everything that you need....a supermarket, 2 fruit and veg shops and the most amazing bakery. We ventured into Lindos on the local bus one evening to see what a different resort offered. Whilst there was a lot more choice of restaurants etc, we much preferred the friendly and relaxed surroundings that Gennadi has to offer.
Thank you Janet for your help in arranging the taxi from the airport (Mike is certainly a character!), and the promptness in your email exchanges was greatly appreciated. The property manager Alan will welcome you on arrival, and he has a wealth of information about the local area. We can not recommend this accommodation enough, and we would love to return.
A super villa in a very friendly town
By Tim H on 02-Nov-2017
The villa is beautiful. It is uncluttered, easy to find what you need, and child friendly. The town is very friendly and we really enjoyed eating and drinking at the restaurants, tavernas and cafes. The bakery, greengrocer and supermarket kept us supplied with anything else we needed. Gennadi is a very convenient base for exploring the beaches and sights in the south of the island - Glystra Beach, Prasonisi, Lindos and Monolithos among them.
Beautiful Villa in a great location

Can't fault the villa, ideal for a family stay. Very well equipped and thoughtfully planned. Pool was great. The location is really good, nice and quite, yet within easy reach of a few tavernas and bars. Well located for the local beach and to visit other parts of the island. I'd recommend Glystra beach for families.

Quality villa in a peaceful setting
By Anonymous on 15-Oct-2016
Our second visit to Villa Alexander and we were glad we came back. Previous reviews say it all, this is a clean well presented and spacious villa which has everything you might need. Our children joined us for a few days and the accommodation was very adequate for 6 adults, they were impressed with their first Greek villa holiday.
We like this area because it is well off the Rhodes beaten track in a fairly typical Greek village and the setting of the villa is great. Although Gennadi is small it has all the amenities you could want. The supermarket sells everything, try their pork chops on the barbecue, and the local bakery was impossible to walk past without seeing what they had in the way of freshly baked cakes. The local tavernas give you a range of different settings. We always had top quality meals wherever we went but have to say that Mamas Kitchen does the best pizzas we have had in a long time.
The beach is pebbly but only a short walk and gives you a choice of tavernas to relax over lunch before using their free (if you buy a meal) sun beds. All the prices are very reasonable and the food quality, as usual, outstanding.
Gennadi is ideal for seeing the south of the island, obviously you need a car, go to Prassonsi to see the kite surfers followed by a fish lunch at the Plimiri Beach taverna (choose your own fish) or over to Apolakkia via the very quiet mountain road and busts Kastro Monolithos. The is a great restaurant serving fantastic goat stew at Profyllia up in the mountains, which is served by one of the best roads on the island.
So, lots to do and see here, or as we did for most of the time, just chill out in a great place to be.

Villa Alexander is exactly as described on the web site only even nicer in reality. Inside it is uncluttered, spacious and bright. The air con is efficient and the Wifi works very well even out on the terrace. The kitchen is well equipped and the french doors onto the terrace make it easy transfer food etc to eat outside.
Outside, the terrace gets the sun from early morning until evening, the table with the canvas awning is perfect for having lunch and shade in the day or having a bar b que in the evening (bar b que is very efficient) The pool is not large or deep but is ideal for cooling off and well maintained. The house is slightly offset from The neigbouring house so you don't feel overlooked too much and the area is very quiet and peaceful.
The village is a very easy five minute walk and the supermarket which has everything you might need and is open seven days a week for amazingly long hours. There are two fruit/vegetable shops and the bakery, which is also open long hours and has fresh bread daily and if you like cakes, loads of sweet things. Try the Greek spinach and cheese 'pie' it's very good. There are several places to eat and cafes and a couple of bars in village all of which are good, but we liked the three beach tavernas the best. They are less then five minutes walk from the village and the setting right on the beach is lovely. They serve great fresh fish and are very friendly.
The beach is pebbley but the very quiet and the sea is warm, crystal clear and great for swimming. There are other sandy beaches close by and Alan who looks after the house is a mine of information about where else to go and how to get there.
Gennadi still retains the feeling of being a 'Greek' village it's not at all touristy, which cannot be said for the strip further up the cost towards Rhodes town, which appears very built up and rather characterless. However Rhodes Town and Lindos are not far by car and we drove round the interior and up into the hills, which again is much more typically Greek and well worth doing.
The owners are very efficient responding to quesions almost immediately and booking was easy and trouble free. All in all this is a lovely house in a lovely area, especially if you want to relax and are not looking for a wild night life. We would highly recommend booking a stay.
Beautiful Villa, perfect location!
By Derek M on 05-Sep-2016
The villa is perfectly located, quiet and tranquil yet just a few minutes walk to the local village where there are some excellent local restaurants/bars, a supermarket (with a butchers counter inside - excellent kebabs for the bbq) and a bakers. The local beach is another 5 minutes walk with some more tavernas on the sea front - perfect for lazy evenings as the sun goes down.
The villa itself is very well appointed, the en-suite bathrooms were very well fitted and very useful for a family of 4 . It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the only thing we missed was a dishwasher - everything else was there, plenty of pots/pans cutlery etc. It was also nice that certain things were already there - olive oil, tea, coffee etc and a welcome pack of beers/wine in the fridge! The wifi works really well and is more than capable of streaming video - netflix or similar.
The pool, though not huge, was lovely and suited our 2 children aged 8 & 10 who spent many happy hours splashing around on inflatables. The two upstairs terraces were also very pleasant to enjoy a glass of wine on, although the best views are from the twin bedroom terrace which we couldn't access when the children were asleep! There is a small garden but the grass is quite sharp underfoot so you need to wear shoes, the bbq is very good though and we enjoyed cooking al-fresco!
The local representative Alan was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, giving us great advice on the best beaches and things to see and do. We particularly liked Glystra and Kavos beaches a short drive away for the beautiful sand and clear water, ideal for snorkelling.
We hired a car to see the island and visits to Lindos and Rhodes old town were a highlight, as was the dramatic mountains and west coast of the island. The driveway to the villa is a little tight but no problem once you got used to it.
The villa is one of 4 but feels very private and is well shielded from the other villas with great views towards the coast. We had a lovely time and can highly recommend a stay here!
Tranquil and convenient
By Steve M on 07-Jul-2016
This was just about as lovely as it gets, 5 minutes walk from the village square and shops, 6 minutes to the nearest restaurant. Although surrounded by 3 other villas cleverly offset so privacy is not an issue. The outside seating is well covered by a canvas awning and gives that needed shade for the hot days. The pool is more than adequate for a nice cool down or if you have a family a bit of funtime. The Villa is very clean and well laid out with pretty much everything you need. The bedrooms have balconies, one spacious enough for substantial seating, the other smaller but for better views. The local uncrowded small pebble beach is just a few minutes drive away and local beach bars should you want them. Lindos around 30 minutes drive and Rhodes town 60 mins. The hiring of the villa was trouble free and the owner gave great directions and information. Without doubt a no "Brainer" to choose here to stay for your trip to Rhodes. You won't regret it.
Excellent home from home, very well equiped.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Alexander in Gennadi and cannot imagine a better location in this village, everything was close by but the villa is in a very quiet area. It is well equipped and had everything we needed. There is more than ample crockery glassware and cooking utensils (not always the case in rentals). The BBQ was great. The villa was spotlessly clean and the local management team very friendly and knowledgeable. Gennadi itself has a grocery, bakery and very reasonable supermarket so there is no need to stray far. There are also good bars and several tavernas in the village serving excellent food, and cheap (you can get a big gyros for two euros!!). The shingle beach is a good place to spend time if you want to be by the sea and tavernas are once again close by. All in all a great place to stay, we would certainly recommend it and intend to return if we can. This is a lovely part of Rhodes!

We had a fabulous stay at the Villa - it was just beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. The pool was superb - we loved just floating around. Lindos was beautiful and we ate there two nights, and loved Mama's Kitchen too. Gennadi is a great place to base yourself to see Rhodes - a fantastic holiday and really great communication and support from the owners. Thank you for a fabulous holiday!
