Introducing Wilga by Jules
"I’ve often entered the front door of a Gozo holiday farmhouse and been surprised at what lies behind. But even by Gozo’s standards stepping through Wilga’s front door is a step into the unexpected.
Immediately you’re confronted by a large pool. The spacious terrace surrounding it touches nature its boundaries in harmony with the landscape beyond. The views stretch all the way to Victoria’s Citadel and tranquillity hangs in the air. This place is a haven for couples who value peace and privacy.
The story continues with the spacious indoors. For 2 people this is a lot of Gozo holiday farmhouse - and the perfect private getaway" - Jules.
Enter the house via the pool terrace and you’ll be in a living area that combines lounge dining space and kitchen.
The kitchen and dining area have a white paint finish for a fresh classic Mediterranean feel. The lounge boasts a flat screen TV cable and Wi-Fi internet.
A traditional wrought iron staircase leads to the first floor and its master bedroom. This is a lovely double bedroom with an en-suite shower and lots of space to relax. The room can easily become a family bedroom thanks to a cot and sofa bed and space to comfortably accommodate them all. You’ll find the sofa bed in the separate dressing room.
There’s a utility room on this floor that houses the washing machine.
Limited Mobility Access. Space on the staircase is limited and may not be suitable for the elderly the oversized or anyone with mobility problems.
Ghasri is a peaceful village to the west of Gozo. From the village square a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the lovely walk to the valley or 6 minutes by car.
The Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvelous place for country walks or rewarding cycle rides especially in winter and spring. The valley ends at the sea wedged between high cliffs where a secluded inlet makes an ideal spot for swimming snorkeling and together with the sea surrounding it a very popular spot for diving.
On the way be sure to stop at the charming old chapel dedicated to the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar are both 4.1 Km away. Next to each other, they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. Excellent for swimming they are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and are popular with divers especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the seafront. The famous Azure Window is 4.7 km away (10 minutes by car).
The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday in June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts one in the third week of July and the other on 15 August.
The nearest restaurant is Silvano’s. The Lighthouse supermarket in Ghasri is a 10 minute walk from this Gozo holiday villa and Victoria’s wider range of shops cafes bars and restaurants is only 1 km away. The 308 bus will take you there in 5 minutes.
Parking Available on street outside the farmhouse.
