This luxurious villa is situated on the north eastern hills of Zakynthos in the small village of Korithi. Aeolus is set within it's own private olive grove with beautiful mature trees and established gardens. With stunning views out to the sea and the Peloponnese in the distance the area is renowned as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

In Greek mythology Aeolus was one of the wind gods and when we first found this spot we chose this name to reflect the gentle breeze that whispers through the trees most afternoons. Stavlo is the studio apartment and takes it's name from the greek translation for stable as this building was originally where the animals were kept.

The villa is self-catering and can sleep 6-8, ideal for two families as there are two separate adjacent properties. The sleeping accommodation consists of:- master bedroom on the first floor that opens out onto a spacious terrace with magnificent views or the sea, gardens and pool. A mezzanine in the main house sleeps one single (adult) divan. Stavlo, a self contained studio is next door sleeping four, in one double and two single beds.

The main house is open plan, three sets of french windows open onto generous terraces that lend themselves well to al fresco dining and entertaining. The ground level comprises a very large open plan kitchen/dining and sitting area. Outside in the luxuriant mediterranean garden is the pool with sun loungers, an outside kitchen/BBQ and eating area. There is ample private parking, secure gated access, a car is desirable to take advantage of the local area. A welcome pack is provided on arrival. The property is completely private and not overlooked, so nude bathing is possible.

Honeymoon Magic.

By Steph. on 30-Sep-2018

I stayed at the Villa following my wedding in the UK. The Villa is owned by my Aunt as she gifted us it for two weeks for our honeymoon getaway. we loved it. Perhaps what stood out most for us was we were at one with nature. The large pool, we had all to ourselves and this gave my wife plenty of opportunity to learn to swim. The weather was kind to us and we spent time cooking and wiling away the hours on the many terraces watching the world go by.

Thank you Aunty Sharon.

Aeolus Villa

By R&J on 19-May-2018

We stayed here at Aeolus Villa for a week. We were house guests of the owner and we stayed in the cute little annexe next door to the main house. We loved it. We only really stayed in Stavlo to sleep as the remainder of the time we were at the main Villa, pool and gardens that are also beautiful.

We loved the Island of Zakynthos too, having never been before. We were escorted by Sharon and Ian to Shipwreck Bay, Blue Caves, Volimes, Zante Town, Alykes and Alykanas. All in all we had a lovely quiet and relaxing holiday. Thank you Sharon.

Great holiday.

By Brian on 15-Sep-2017

We spent our days by the pool, it was hot so this was the best place to be. We had a fantastic time hereat the Villa celebrating family birthdays, enjoying the cooking as the Villa is well equipped for it, especially the outside BBQ area. I am a gardener so I loved wondering around all the different parts of the garden which was well maintained and well stocked. Great place to stay we hope to return again.

Just perfect!

By James on 12-Aug-2017

When you arrive in the car park and see the setting, the space, the immaculate gardens and pool it takes your breath away. Open the door to find a lovely, cared-for home with everything you need for a relaxing break in a beautiful area and then relax. From the first floor balcony what a view! Perfect for breakfast, but wait until evening and retire up here to watch the sun go down with a glass something cool and refreshing in hand.
The outside BBQ area is a fantastic place to spend time at whatever time of the day it is. A large table is there for everyone to sit around and chat whilst the meat on the BBQ is cooking. Its a great way to spend the evening with family and friends. The pool was clean and a great size - we all loved using it, especially the children. We also enjoyed watching the birds come to drink from it. Thank you Sharon for letting us stay at your beautiful Villa.

A beautiful house in mature gardens

By Barny C on 31-Jul-2017

This is the perfect house in a really lovely setting. Ideal for families who have children old enough to stay on their own in the separate old stable building so that the parents can have peace and quiet in the main house. The pool is lovely, the gardens are exceptional and the island is easy to navigate. All in all, we thought it was perfect. Thanks Sharon. We hope to be back soon. Barny, Billie and Lulu

Our own little bit of paradise.

By JC on 31-Jul-2017

I booked this villa for my family at short notice as there wasn't many affordable Villas available. Well what a surprise we got when we arrived at AEOLUS VILLA! My wife fell in love with both the house and gardens, it was just like feeling we actually lived there too. We spent most of our days outside by the pool and eating alfresco. the children were in there element as they had Stavlo the annexe all to themselves and that meant the wife and I could spend some quality time together. We did venture out to see the Island and local attractions but we were always really happy to get back to the Villa and by the pool. We will definitely want to return some time in the future, i can highly recommend the Villa and the Island.

Charming location, gorgeous villa

By Robert H on 10-Sep-2016

The location in the north of the island was exceptional, all peace and quiet. Sharon had supplied detailed travel and villa instructions, which always helps get the holiday off to a good start. The pool and gardens were absolutely fabulous and little time was ever wasted in not soaking up the sun's rays beside it or in it. It's quite the best pool we've ever had! The Blue Caves are only a few miles away - for regular sea swims and Shipwreck beach is just a short distance away by car. We hired a boat and had a super day visiting this famous beach. This was the best way to do it, as we were able to spend as long we liked rather than the usual hour and a half offered by most of the tour companies. We had a lovely week, but it went far too quickly. Thank you, Sharon for the use of your wonderful villa and a credit to you for the work you have done to your beautiful gardens. We would love to return one day!

The online photographs of the villa and gardens do not fully capture how stunning this place is! The interior of the villa and the gardens have clearly had a lot of time and thought invested in them. Sharon provided good instructions so we had no problems finding the villa. It is secluded and the view from the balcony is amazing! We booked a stay for our family of four (2 kids under 5) with the expectation that we would use both Stavlo and Aeolus, due to there being only 2 beds within the villa. We knew that Stavlo was a self-contained unit, separate to the main villa, however, I hadn't realised that it was actually outside the property walls. The pool was clean and a great size - we all loved using it, especially the children. We also enjoyed watching the birds come to drink from it. Due to the extensive gardens, there were plenty of flying insects, but we had expected that and they didn't bother us too much. The kids were really excited to see gecko's and other small lizards! The location was perfect for us - quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the southern part of the island. We enjoyed a Blue Caves and Shipwreck boat tour, which can be caught relatively near by. There are also really useful guest books within the villa, which are full of ideas for day trips/restaurant recommendations. There are also books and DVD's there to use. All in all, I would fully recommend the villa - if I ever returned to Zante then I wouldn't hesitate to book Aeolus again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! Best wishes Ruth.

Aeolus a gentle breeze that takes your breath away

By Kevin S on 27-May-2016

We wanted a nice secluded villa away from the tourist traps with access to the coast and good BBQ facilities. Everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing you notice is you don't have a parking space, you have a car park, and there are extensive gardens with many places to sit in private. The outside kitchen with a BBQ you can spit-roast a dinosaur on and a 3door fridge close to a generous size pool is delightful. All facilities are well proportioned and clean, the view from the bedroom balcony is stunning. Both Nikos and Reni were lovely people and very helpful. If you want a day on a pleasant beach with choice of tavernas then a drive down the mountains into Alykes will not disappoint. No complaints, I would thoroughly recommend Aeolus for your luxury holiday

Fabulous villa and total luxury.

By Samantha S on 28-Aug-2015

If you want to feel like a celebrity like I did when I stayed here, look no further, but be warned you will find it very hard to leave. Taking in all the beauty of the villa garden and surrounding views. The lovely olive trees that all have their own character, the whole villa has the traditional Greek feel to it, situated in a quiet village is perfect and unique. My family and I had a fab time; there is everything you need and more. The pool is a good size and very clean. If you want to chill out in the evening there is a very comfy sofa plenty of DVDs to chose from or games in the cupboards, i.e. polka scrabble, cards etc. The views you have of the sea around this area of North Zante are breath taking and the colours of the sea and coves are beautiful. Recommend shipwreck cove and blue caves, boat trips near by. Ag Nik Port is lovely in the evening and not far, plus there is a supermarket there which is handy. Also recommend water village waterpark for a fab day out with the children and is not overcrowded. Thank you so much Sharon for letting us stay at your second home here in Zante a truly special place indeed and would love to come back in the near future.

A secluded oasis

By Stephen C on 21-Aug-2015

Our stay did not get off to a great start - my husband took the wrong turning as he was busy watching the road rather than following instructions and we ended up taking the scenic (and more hair-raising) route. We were however, not disappointed when we got to the villa. The property was clean and well maintained. Our 11 year old daughter and her friend jumped in the pool pretty much straight away whilst we unpacked. We loved the outside space but unfortunately, was unable to make use of the barbecue area as the power supply kept cutting out, which was a bit of a shame. The area is beautiful and we stumbled on a cove near Volimes that was heavenly. The location is perfect for exploring the Blue Caves and the shipwreck bay. Our week there was conducive to some much needed R&R. The area was so quiet and peaceful; would love to return!

Beautiful Villa!

By Colin Garvey on 09-Aug-2015

We had a marvellous 10 days at Aeolus/Stavlo in August. The villa is very clean and has a homely feel to it, not the sterility often seen in rental villas. The view over the coast (particularly with a glass of wine in hand) from the balcony off main bedroom is stunning! The pool is spotlessly clean and ideal for children of all ages. Our children (3 of the 4 are teenagers) absolutely loved the independence of having Stavlo to themselves. Also, the baker comes to the bottom of the road at 8am on weekdays - wow, the doughnuts are gorgeous! Regarding things to do - a boat trip to Shipwreck is a must. We hired our own 6 berth boat from Wayne at http://www.valaiswatersports.gr/en-boathire.php Much cheaper than competitors and very efficient service. Also, a drive out to Shipwreck view (achieving the 'brochure' view) at sunset is breath taking - our children were amazed. Local food is generally good and fairly cheap - we found Niko's the best by far, as the menu was also geared up to suit to teenagers. Also, I'd recommend a visit to the Art Cafe, a local bar with a bohemian feel to it. One thing parents with teenagers may want to note - many local restaurants/bars advertise themselves as an 'internet hotspot'. On the whole, they aren't....the signal/speed is appalling. Only a minor gripe, but anyone with teenagers will know where I'm coming from...... In a nutshell, I think anyone who can't enjoy the facilities on offer and relax amongst the gorgeous gardens at Aeolus, perhaps whilst reading in the hammock, would find it difficult to wind-down anywhere on the planet!

Fantastic Villa/Fantastic Island

By Steve H on 02-Jul-2015

Fantastic Villa/Fantastic Island Stayed here early July 2015, what a place if you just want to unwind. A secluded retreat- a real treat. The villa is lovely and has everything you could need including air-con. The outside BBQ area is a fantastic place to spend time in whatever time of the day it is. A large table is there for everyone to sit around and chat whilst the meat on the BBQ is cooking. The huge fridge which sits below the sink will take all of your beers and wine with ease, no need to go back into the villa to get yourself another drink! Before you do anything in the morning take a dip in the pool like us and see what a great way it is to start the day. Also as the pool has lights, it can be lovely to swim under the stars at night. Touring the island is great fun discovering the little rocky coves, small beaches, restaurants and bars. Here’s a tip before you arrive get yourself a proper map from Amazon, Zakinthos Road Map, Freytag & Berindt publishers at £7.99 ISBN-10 3850848663 and the drive from the airport is fairly easy with Sharon’s detailed directions and the map to follow allow about 45 mins. Some of the roads are pretty steep and turn back on themselves. (like driving in the Greek Alps –Ha Ha!) A boat trip to shipwreck bay and the blue caves is a must for everyone; the sea is very warm in the summer. (wear your cozzy) Can’t wait to come back.

Heaven of peace

By Cendrella B on 12-Jun-2015

We really spent a wonderful stay in this house. For us it was just like a dream, the house is a heaven of peace with surrounded flowered and shaded terraces, where we enjoyed a morning breakfast or a barbecue dinner. The pool was also very pleasant with birds drinking its water, our 3 years old son really enjoyed it and had a really great time with the toys available their. In the top floor we also enjoyed the large veranda and the beautiful sea view. We really had great time in this house, if you are looking for a charming Greek house, calm with a fabulous garden this house is just perfect.

The Perfect Villa

By Anna H on 27-May-2015

If you are reading this, then Congratulations! because you have found the perfect villa. Before we even arrived Sharon was most helpful, answering our many queries promptly. Aeolus is a work of art,as is the garden and yet somehow Sharon has also made it seem like home-quite an achievement. There is nothing she has not thought of to make your stay in Aeolus a truly memorable experience-doesn't everyone have a nest of baby swallows in their outdoor kitchen? The sights and scents in the garden are wonderful-those big yellow and green butterflies.........The property is maintained to a very high standard, with a fully equipped indoor and outdoor kitchen and those wet rooms! The separate accommodation, Stavlo, is also gorgeous. Aeolus and Stavlo are only a few minutes by car from the beautiful little port of Agios Nikolaos where you can eat all day long in La Storia and meet the wonderful Alex and his team, always smiling, always ready to help. Just across the road you can buy a bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice, spinach pies and croissants and the little supermarket sells everything you will need. Sharon has detailed notes of every restaurant, attraction and activity in the local area, that's if you can tear yourself away from her fabulous villa. Nobelos, and Kamanaki (featuring the amazing Denis) are great to eat in-don't miss any of them. We talk every day about the things we will do when we return to Aeolus. Thank you Sharon for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Even better than it looks!

By Denise B on 16-May-2015

We booked the Villa as a last minute break and were the first guests of the season. The pictures are beautiful, but actually the Villa is even better! I cannot find fault with any of it. The decor is lovely, Sharon has gorgeous taste, but it doesn't feel like a show home - is a house you can really chill in and call home while you are there. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the showers are powerful and hot. We travelled with our teenaged sons and having the little Stavlo for them to stay in was exactly what we needed. The pool is the best I've had for a private pool - it is big, very clean and has views to die for. The pool was cleaned 3 times during our week. If I have any niggle, it was that the Villa was not cleaned during our stay and there wasn't a brush and pan or hoover (that I could find) to sweep out leaves and detritus that invariably come inside when a family is in occupation. This meant that the floor was a bit messy by the end. Ag Nik is very pretty and we ate at the fish restaurant several times, enjoying the water lapping gently at our feet. I'd say that the food on the island generally was pretty average. We didn't have a bad meal, but neither did we have an especially good one. A nice feature is that we usually got a free course - in some places it was Bruschetta as a starter, in others is was apple/strawberries and grapes accompanied by gorgeous Greek yoghurt drizzled with local honey. Yum! We hired a car from the airport and the drive to the Villa (which is at the other end of the Island) was a bit nerve-wracking. The local water and quarry lorries are very fast and very big...and the roads very narrow! The directions provided by the owner were good and we managed to get there unscathed. However, a car is definitely needed, as the road down to Ag Nik is steep and long. I'd recommend people to stay who really want to get away from it all. Our boys were disappointed that there was no bar within walking distance so if you like nightlife on your doorstep then this isn't the place for you. For the rest of us, it is pretty much perfect.

Dear Denise, Thank you so much for a great review. I am so pleased you all had a lovely time at the Villa. I note your comment about brushes etc, there is a Henry Hoover, various brooms, mops and buckets in the Apothike (utility room), next to the washing machine located under the sitting room terrace, I will ensure my house manager keeps this accessible for guests, it usually is. Nevertheless glad you had a good time. Kind regards, Sharon Webster, Villa Owner.

Superb villa in lovely location

By Napier B on 16-Sep-2014

We spent a week here on honeymoon and enjoyed it immensely. A beautiful and very comfortable villa in a huge walled garden, it was as secluded as we could wish, and yet was only a couple of minutes drive from the shops and restaurants of the harbour. The villa and pool were beautifully clean and maintained brilliantly by Barbara, who was also spectacularly helpful with restaurant tips and ideas for sight-seeing trips. We highly recommend this lovely place.

The moment I arrived at this Villa with my family and friends it was chill out time. The main house is well equipped especially the kitchen area. However the thrill really came when we discovered the outside kitchen and BBQ area, this was fantastic for our group and due to excellent weather we lived outside! The gardens and pool areas are well maintained and clean. We loved this place and it' close proximity to the Peligoni Club which the kids loved. Thanks Sharon for a great vacation we will be back again soon.

Perfect Villa - Breathtaking Views

By Damian S on 05-Jun-2014

The photos are amazing but don't do Aeolus justice. When you arrive and see the setting, the space, the immaculate gardens and pool it takes your breath away. Open the door to find a lovely, cared-for home with everything you need for a relaxing break in a beautiful area and then relax... Oh, did I mention the balcony? Wow, what a view! Perfect for breakfast, but wait until evening and retire up here to watch the sun go down and the lights come out in the dozens of towns and villages visible down the coast. You can see as far as Zakynthos town but the closer towns of Alykes and Alykanas provide the most twinkling lights in the near distance. We just sat in awe for a couple of evenings enjoying the warmth, the views and the atmosphere up there. The little port of Agios Nikolaos is 3 minutes away and you can hire boats, go on organised trips, shop, eat, drink, party if you want to... Sharon was ever so helpful, answering plenty of questions before we even went. We took kids so wanted to know a few details to help us plan our visit, it turned out perfect and they had a wonderful time. We plan to return with other friends to enjoy this beautiful place as it's not fair to keep it a secret!

Mama mia in idyllic setting

By Anonymous on 04-Jun-2014

I stayed at this villa at the beginning of June with my family including my 15 year old daughter and 4 year old grandson. The pictures do not do the villa justice. it was breathtakingly lovely. The outside kitchen was our home for the next week and we filled the fridges with local fresh vegetables, fruit, food and cold drinks, beers and local wines. We grilled fish and meat over the enormous Bar B Q and lit candles and played board games (already at villa) around the huge wooden dining table, listening to crickets and watching lizards scurry up the walls. The morning welcomed us with clear blue skies and views from the balconies across the hills to the local fishing port whilst buzzards circled above us high in the mountains. Around the corner from the villa, we were greeted with stunning views of Cephalonia. The swimming pool was welcoming as were the wooden sun loungers surrounded by gardens bursting with geraniums, large palms and olive trees. Swimming in the evening was magical as the pool and walkways were lit up with outside lights. The main villa was home from home with everything catered for, large fridges, cooking equipment etc. In the main house stunning comfortable furnishing and local artwork were cosy late at night whilst watching DVDs. A huge wet room with very welcoming power shower after swimming or snorkelling crystal clear sea in fish filled coves. The main bedroom was straight out of Mamma Mia-painted Mediterranean blue and with white canopy over bed with huge French doors opening onto balcony overlooking the bay. More outside seating to relax on whilst reading gorgeous art and design books from downstairs in the villa. The additional little villa was magical and entered by going through a little side gate and wall built around a 500 year old olive tree and was very spacious for my daughter her partner and son, offering 4 beds, large wetroom and kitchen and sitting area complete with Bose sound system. We were speechless when we arrived. Underneath the house is a large laundry room with washing machine, inflatables for the pool, and play equipment. The adopted cat which my daughter and grandson christened Esme and her kittens became very confident and enjoyed all the attention and feeds they gave her even coming to the back door to say hello and be fed. We cant wait to go back as it was luxurious, homely and magical. Next time we will laze in the hammock on yet another terrace surrounded by bougainvillea and olive trees. RECOMMENDED.

By Donald M on 17-Apr-2014

The villa itself gives an immediate impression of space even although there is only one double bedroom on the upper floor (plus a single bed on the landing/mezzanine) and a very large kitchen/dining/sitting room at ground level. The lowermost level is a utility room. Another immediate sense is of quality. This is someone's second home, and this shows in furnishings which are high end compared to any holiday property I have rented before. Through the side gate to the garden and across a narrow lane is 'Stavlo', a completely rebuilt stable which has the high wooden ceilings typical of the local houses, a double and 2 single beds in one open plan room. In addition to its own wet room, there is a small kitchen area so that sleeping here don't need to disturb guests in the main villa. In April, there was no opportunity to test the effectiveness of the air conditioning. The pool and grounds are spacious and well-kept and there is a covered outdoor kitchen - useful for those who like to avoid too much sun or for keeping the poolside drinks cool and at hand. The villa is in a tiny hamlet (Korithi) surrounded by olive groves. The roads in April were quiet. Some are narrow, but if you are comfortable with Scottish single track roads you shouldn't have any problem. A hire car is a necessity for getting around here. Many restaurants were not yet open for the season when I stayed here, but those in the local port 2km down the road that were open served the best moussaka and seafood I have ever enjoyed. Conclusion? Excellent for exploring Zante from a high quality, spectacular, quiet, and comfortable base.

Lovely villa for a celebration

By Jodi M on 08-Sep-2013

Lovely villa for a celebration
We rented the villas as a surprise for my parent's anniversary and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! In brief, the villas are more spacious and beautifully maintained than the pictures can do justice and the communication with the owner made the whole experience very easy and relaxing. There are countless outdoor areas to enjoy and we quickly settled into a routine: breakfast on the lounge terrace, mornings by the pool, eating lunch out during our adventures and then returning to the pool for the afternoons. Pre-dinner drinks were on the roof terrace and we all loved cooking together in the outdoor kitchen. After dinner we sat on the roof terrace and watched the lights twinkle and most nights my husband and I would stop for some stargazing by the pool before we returned to the little villa, Stalvo. The local port was very friendly. Most days the supermarket girls gave us gifts with our shopping and we had several perfect lunches and dinners on the sea front at their family’s fish taverna – we would return there in a flash. we also enjoyed the boat trip at the end of the road to the blue caves My parents stayed in Aeolus and they said they felt very spoiled as it is large and luxurious. we stayed in Stavlo and it was nice to have our own space (it would be nice to have a curtain on the door to aid us lazy people having lie ins!). We all hope to return - thank you for letting us stay in your amazing home

By Emma A on 11-Aug-2013

We had a fantastic stay at Aeolus in July. The house was lovely, secluded and very peaceful. With plenty of terraces, balconies and the wonderful garden with a hammock and quiet seating areas, there was ample opportunity to hide from the kids. The pool was amazing, clean and very popular with everyone as the days were extremely hot, as you might expect for July. The kitchen was very well equipped and the outdoor barbecue area with extra refrigerators was brilliant. Really lovely to eat outside, but be sheltered from the midday sun. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful, although be prepared for the involuntary screaming on the hairpin bends with sheer drops on the road to Volimes. We really enjoyed the Stone Park, which is a small nature reserve and very hands on. The kids loved feeding the raccoons, deer and picking up tortoises and kittens. The restaurant next door is fantastic (The Windmill), very friendly, family run and the tempura style aubergine and courgette was a big favourite with us. Hiring a motorboat was easy enough from the small port (St Nicolas), which we used to take a trip to the shipwreck. There are plenty of nice beaches in the area, but most of the time we spent at the house and that suited us fine. Barbara pops round to check on the pool every couple of days and was very informative on the local area and supermarkets. All in all, we had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Mosquitoes were a problem for us, but apparently it was a particularly bad year. If you tend to get bitten, definitely pack some repellent etc and also bring some dvds if you have younger children who like to watch a film after a hard day in the pool. There wasn't a huge choice. You know you've found a real gem when all you can complain about is the kid's dvd selection and a few gnats.

Fantastic Villa and location

By Mike S on 28-Jul-2013

We and another family stayed here for two weeks and really enjoyed it. The pool and gardens are beautiful. We used the BBQ and outdoor cooking facilities. Sharron's friend Barbara was very helpful in recommending places to visit and eat. Our children had a really good time together staying here. I think it will be difficult to find another Villa as nice as this one.

Simply a stunning villa

By Anonymous on 23-Jun-2013

Simply a stunning villa set in the peaceful olive groves. Plenty of space, different areas to sit and relax including a lovely hammock! Pool is perfect, a real sun trap. The main villa Aeolus has a lovely open plan living area with fully equipped kitchen, we made the odd lunch here but the surrounding restaurants are such good value we ate out every evening and most lunchtimes. The upstairs bedroom has a fantastic outside area leading through from the bedroom doors, stunning to wake up to. The wet room style bathroom is just what you need after a long lazy day in the sun! The small bed at the top of the stairs is suitable for a child. We had our 18 month old baby who slept in the main bedroom with us in a travel cot that Sharon provided for us. The outside BBQ area has everything you need and more to enjoy dining in the open, as there was only three of us we didn’t take advantage of this, but when we return with friends it will get used!! We had a look around the Stavlo villa which is located through the old stone wall that surrounds Aeolus, large open area room for a family of four with wet room and small kitchen. You need a hire car to get around, most nights we would just let the car almost roll down the hill to the local small harbour, have a beer and either eat there or move onto the next restaurant on the coast road, which there are plenty of choice. The Old Windmill restaurant in Volimes is a must, traditional family place where you can turn back time. It took us 40 minutes from the airport, any problems the lovely Barbara who looks after the villa will sort anything you need. Basically if you are looking for a gem of a hideaway but still in easy reach of restaurants and beaches, you can’t go wrong with a week here!!

Totally Amazing!

By Coco L on 09-Jun-2013

We had not rented a private villa before and was a little unsure about all the procedures. However, after our phone conversation with Sharon, we were totally relaxed and reassured about how to go about it confidently. The villa is amazing and the gardens and pool were just out of this world and all really well cared for, newly painted and appointed, not tired in any way. We invited friends over to stay and that is really when Stavlo comes into its own! A private self-catered studio, very close to the main house. We just loved being 'at home'! The weather was reliable and pretty hot, we dined out a lot but the outside kitchen/dining /BBQ area is a major plus! Never seen anything like it! We loved all of the tavernas in the local area and especially in the pretty little port of Ag Niki. All in all, a piece of paradise we especially we especially want to keep all to ourselves, alas Sharon won't let us! Aeolus and Stavlo come highly recommended!!

A special place

By Valerie P on 19-May-2013

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Aeolus. We coudl not have picked better. This spacious home is gorgeous but in a homey way that makes you feel immediately comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is the beautiful and much larger than expected. We hope to return some day, hopefully with friends. It is the kind of place you want to share. Thank you Sharon!

Bev and Steve

By Bev And Steve on 21-Apr-2013

What more can we say about this stunning villa that other people haven't said already...we were looking for a quiet, relaxing, beautiful getaway and it exceeded all our expectations. Beautifully decorated and complete with everything we needed, absolutely stunning and relaxing gardens with plenty of quiet little areas to sit in, along with a lovely pool to relax and cool down in, it was perfect... our "little piece of paradise" we kept calling it. The outdoor BBQ area is absolutely stunning, we spent several evenings by the BBQ cooking local meats (the pork chops are to die for) and enjoying a glass or two of fizz, we found it just so relaxing we didn't really need to go out to the local restaurants down in the port...but when we did, we weren't disappointed there either, the food was extremely good!! We had a hire car so we could visit local villages and we stopped for a beer here and there and found the local people to be extremely friendly and welcoming. The scenery and the views up and around the villa are breathtakingly beautiful; we saw something different every day. All in all, the most wonderful short break we have ever had in one of the most prettiest islands we have ever visited, and in the most gorgeous secluded villa, I'd not hesitate in staying here again and we are seriously thinking of booking again soon...very soon...Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, and we can't wait to come back. We will be recommending your home to all our friends and family and everyone else... With warm regards Bev and Steve

Return Visit To a Little Piece Of Paradise

By Stephen C on 20-Sep-2012

This was our 2nd visit to Aeolus/Stavlo this year, we first went out in May at fairly short notice and absolutely fell in love with it. Driving through the gates you were instantly confronted with a lush oasis of olive trees in blossom, bird of paradise plants and established beds of geraniums in full bloom all surrounding the pool. On our return visit the geraniums had been superseded by an array of bougainvillea giving an equally impressive backdrop while enjoying a relaxing day by the pool. we stayed in Stavlo on both occasions and no stone is left unturned by the owner to ensure your stay is as comfortable and memorable as it can possibly be. The house was spotlessly clean and decorated in a traditional greek style. Aeolus is a fantastic house, again decorated to a traditional Greek, very high standard. On our return visit we noticed the doors and kitchen units had all been repainted in a gorgeous duck egg blue which seemed to bring an additional brightness into each room. Breakfast was taken on the balcony which is accessed from the living room and from which you are afforded a great view over the sea with views of the Greek mainland in the distance. One morning we ventured up into the hill behind the house to view the sunrise, which was definitely worth the early morning alarm! We would have no concerns in recommending Aeolus/Stavlo to anyone visiting the northern area of Zakynthos, however, the one additional feature added since our first visit I believe sets it out above many others. During the summer the owner built a fantastic barbeque area, enclosed on 3 sides it has a table which seats at least 12 people, a woodburning barbeque and a commercial fridge in which a large stock of your favourite beverages can be stored without ever needing to wander back into the house all evening, this is a brilliant additional facility. St Nicholas port is a 2 minute drive away and has some good quality tavernas serving traditional fare but it is definitely worth driving out a little further, no longer than a 10 minute drive, for that special night out. Oh and a B52 in Sophia's Art Bar is a definite "Must Do". Looking forward to another return visit in the not too distant future. Nicky & Steve

Honeymoon paradise.

By Michael W. on 21-May-2012

The Photos on this website convinced us to stay here for our honeymoon but they don’t do justice to how special a place Aeolus is. The small village setting is idyllic and arriving at the house from the little lane feels so special every time you get there. The grounds have been lovingly and creatively designed, and there are plenty of different areas to relax in, each with amazing floral displays and lush plant life including pick your own fruit!!, the olive trees are very mature and have been included in the gardens architecture. The pool is amazing, it almost feels like you have a hotel sized one to yourselves, and we loved the way the water overflows so there will never be even a single leaf to blemish its blue tempting surface. The only problem is that Aeolus is so beautiful we found it hard to find the will to explore the island, which at the northern end where the villa sits is very tranquil and quiet but certainly not lacking in exciting places to visit and lovely tavernas to eat at. Inside Aeolus the open plan downstairs feels nice and cool and with all the doors open it nearly becomes part of the garden. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and if you breakfast out the back, the window by the sink acts as at the back, the window by the sink acts as a great serving hatch. (great sink by the way) The bathroom is a wet room and it feels great to have so much room to shower. Upstairs you reach the bedroom which has a really comfy and large bed which you can lay in and look out at the amazing see view. Lisa and i both loved the large veranda/balcony which has views the length of the island and out to sea, we had plenty of lazy lunches sat there, it was our favourite part of Aeolus. The upstairs also has a small single bed which any kid would love. We didn't obviously use the studio that comes with the villa but a quick look showed it had a charm of its own and looked fun. Over all we have so many beautiful memories of this beautiful place, we feel very lucky to have chosen it to have our honeymoon at and know that we will certainly come again. Thanks Sharon for letting us stay Mike and Lisa Williams x

Many thanks to Mike and Lisa for such a great review. I consider Aeolusvilla to be an ideal location for honeymoon couples for many reasons but especially for it's privacy and intimacy of the house, garden's and pool. How wonderful to swim at midnight in your own private pool, lights on gazing up to the stars in the amazing clear sky. Aeolusvilla is simply the most beautiful place to be.......

Absolutely brilliant

By Charlie M on 31-Jul-2011

Absolutel brilliant
We came to the house tired and in need to creature comforts after a week sailing around Kefalonia, and had a fabulous stay. The house is perfect, and as for the garden... There's everything here that you need for a brilliant holiday: wonderful pool, very comfortable house with all mod cons (including air conditioning), great barbecue area and superb location. There's also help on hand if you need it, in Barbara the manager who knows what to do, where to go and how to get there. We've stayed in several top-end villas in places like California and Tuscany and this is right up there with the very best. A real stunner of a holiday home and every bit as good as the photos.

Fantastic villa

By Jo C on 17-Jul-2011

We stayed a week at Aeolus at the end of July (after a week at another villa in the south of the island). The villa is fantastic - lovingly furnished (feels like you're staying at a friend's house, not a rental place) with lots of great touches (heaps of kitchen equipment if you're cooking at the house, hammock under a huge olive tree, toys for the pool etc), fab swimming pool, and gorgeous gardens with plenty of shady spots and sun loungers alike. The location is stunning - short drive to the port where you can buy all the essentials, a few lovely pebbly beaches not too far away (we spent a lot of time at Makris Gialos as was easy to access with our toddler son), lots of good local tavernas to choose from (all require a short car journey), and boat trips to the shipwreck and blue caves from the light-house point. If you're looking for somewhere to relax and see the unspoilt, rustic, quiet Zante, this villa is perfect. Just a note for those travelling with toddlers - Sharon provided a brilliant v large travel cot for our 1 and half year old, and Barbara found us a brilliant local babysitter. There is v efficient air con in the main blue bedroom, so if your child is sleeping in here you won't have any problem with temperature, there were also lots of mozzy plug ins provided and in fact we had no problem with mozzies at all (there were several wasps / honey bees round the edges of the pool, although we soon found they weren't at all interested in us, just the water, and all gone by early evening). There are a few things you need to watch out for around the house/garden (obv the pool is not fenced off, and there is a steep drop from the terrace wall), but you can see all this in the photos of the house which give you a v good overall sense of the house. Our little boy is fairly adventurous and he had a great time running around the garden and exploring the house.

Wunderschöne Gartenanlage!

By Seigfried on 12-Jun-2011

Sehr empfehlenswert!

2 very nice weeks at Aeolus

By Mirjam on 28-May-2011

When surfing on the internet, looking for a nice place to stay in Greece, I immediately fell in love with Aeolus! To be sure, I kept on surfing for something better, but we couldn't find it. It must have been love at first sight, so we decided to go to Aeolus. When the payment moment came, I felt some uncertainties. We did not know this site, nor Sharon. But it al turned out very, very well! It was the first time, that the place was even better than the pictures on the site. The place is made with so much love, we could really feel the love and passion. Aeolus is situated in the upper north part of the island, where we have enjoyed a lot of adventurous hikes with spectacular views on Kefalonia. We also loved the nice restaurant in the nearby port where we could eat with our feet on the beach. We also spent a lot of hours in and around the pool and evenings under the stars, sitting on the balcony with a nice view. We stayed here for 2 weeks with our family with 2 young kids (4 and 2). We had a very pleasant time and thank Sharon a lot for 'making' this place! Kind regards, Mirjam

We visited mid May 2011 with another two couples for one week. We all thoroughly enjoyed Aeolus even though the make-up of our party was not the best fit for the sleeping arrangements (not a criticism - we expected this!). The villa, garden with its olive trees, pool, and terrace views (we watched lightning over the sea one evening) are all beautiful and a delight to the senses. The facilities were all well maintained and presented, and the pool condition was checked for us. Try an early morning swim when all is calm for a special wake-up. The island has a mixture of rural and urbanised areas, for us the highlights were the local port with its boat trips and relaxed tavernas, swimming and sunbathing in isolated coves, eating out - we found all the tavernas we used provided excellent service and food, and all the Greeks we met were extremely friendly and helpful. People sitting by the road will come up and offer help with directions if you're looking at a map ! Car hire probably essential.

October Aeolus

By Anonymous on 08-Oct-2010

We took a last minute break to get some Mediterranean sunshine before the onset of winter. We'd been to the island before in the south and were keen to return to explore the north. This time of the year the island is much quieter and quite different to the high season. Temperatures are still warm enough to take advantage of the lovely pool on the lower terrace. Walking is also much more pleasant at this time of the year too. There is a lovely walk that starts by taking the lane up the hill past Stavlo and turning right. The tarmac soon turns into a stony farm track that meanders up the hillside to give spectacular views of the northern tip of Zante and the coastline of Cephalonia. Aeolus' terraced gardens are still beautiful even at the end of the season with bougainvillea, plumbago, bird of paradise, oleander and jasmin still in bloom. The Port is fairly quiet with just the odd to tourist bus visiting so there's always a free table to be had at the Tavernas. We loved the hospitality at Katrinas, her chargrilled pork steaks are sublime as is the grilled sea bream at La Storia with tables right on the sea front which we particularly enjoyed in the evenings watching the lights twinkling across the harbour. Boat trips are still running to the unmissable Blue Caves, time it right as we did and you'll have the boat to yourselves and have the chance of a swim too - brilliant! There's still a few mozzies around so come well prepared. We found a couple of the little machines that plug into the wall with a fresh tablet each night worked a treat, and refills are available at the mini-markets at the port. Aeolus really has everything we needed for a quiet last minute getaway. We did a beer/wine/provisions shop at Lidls (turn left on the main road out of the airport) and then enjoyed a very relaxing holiday without having to venture too far. There's a daily bread delivery van that stops at the end of the lane each day, the fresh bread is delicious toasted and spread with local honey that can be bought from one of the many road side stalls on the way up to Korithi. Many thanks to Sharon for sharing your lovely Greek home with us, we'll be in touch next year for a late spring break.

Outstanding property and location

By Vanessa B on 15-Aug-2010

We had a fantastic time staying in Aeolus. The villa is located in a really peaceful village with amazing views and some lovely walks nearby. The pool and gardens were the icing on the cake! The nearest 'town' is only 5 mins in the car and you can buy everything you need there. It is pricey but we were a bit scared to go too far driving in our little rental cars as they didn't cope well with the steep hills. I would recommend driving an automatic just like all the taxi drivers seem to do! On that note, we took 2 taxis from the airport and both got lost! It would be good to take slightly better directions written in Greek so that you can just give the driver a piece of paper to read instead of trying to explain in English. Cost of taxi to the villa = 60 euros. Because the roads are so steep, we didn't feel that the port was within walking distance in the heat, and we couldn't find the shop in the village. You definitely need a car if only to carry the many bottles of water you will need! There were lots of nice tavernas in the port. We tried a different one each time. Food was good at each one and not expensive - not easy to be vegetarian though. Also, there are some nice places further up the hill near the art cafe. The beach is pebbly but pretty and quiet - go early and you might be the only people there, even in August. The boat trip to the caves is great fun, well worth doing; it cost 15 euros per person. We used the 'little yellow hut man' in the port and had the entire boat to ourselves, which was lovely. Again, go early in the morning. We did drive up to Volimes which was quaint and has some cheap souvenirs - pottery and rugs mainly. The people were friendly but very desperate to sell their wares so didn't let you browse as freely as we would have liked. We had a fairly large party of adults and young people, and found that everyone was happy to relax at the villa without needing to travel around the island too much. We have visited Zakynthos twice before but preferred this location to the south although that was also lovely. One word of warning - we were completely covered in mosquito bites, even though we tried repellents. Not all of the beds had nets over them - our boys were on the sofa beds in the living room and were nearly eaten alive! Despite this, we did have a fabulous holiday and would love to return. If you want bars and action, this place isn't for you, but if you want tranquillity and relaxation, then you will love it.
