This attractive and popular villa is situated in an elevated position behind the lovely long sandy Meia Praia beach near Lagos. It is about a three-minute drive to the beach or the town. The Lagos Marina with lots of cafés and restaurants is at the end of the lane, about a 15 minutes’ walk, and a further 5 minutes will take you across the pedestrian bridge over the river to the main Lagos esplanade. This access lane to the villa is quite narrow and has no pavements in places, then widens out and is lit when you reach the hill above the Marina. Not suitable for pushchairs or the very young. The nearest golf courses are Onyria/ Palmares, which is perhaps a 10-minute drive; Boa Vista which is just the other side of Lagos town and a further 2 courses, tennis courts and riding stables are all within 30 minutes by car. A car is highly recommended at this villa and for most people it would be essential.
The villa is spacious and airy and has been furnished and equipped to a good standard with the extra facility available of air-conditioning in the bedrooms and living room. The house is set in a large, mature half acre of garden and has lots of terraces for sunny outdoor holiday living.
ACCOMMODATION for 6 (one folding bed is allowed at extra cost) With Tourist Licence «34420/AL»
There is a garden and good parking space at the front of the house. The front door opens into a large white tiled hall where the telephone is connected (restricted local calls and incoming calls only). Ahead glass panelled doors lead into the spacious sitting/dining room. This cool, white tiled room has an overhead fan or could be air-conditioned in very hot weather. There is a television connected to MEO, a Portuguese service with a selection of programmes in English, but there is also a special box connected to the Internet which receives BBC and ITV, radio and many other English channels. There is a DVD and a music centre incorporating radio, cassette and CD player, so do bring your own DVDs, CDs and cassettes. There is a slow burning log fire and comfortable seating at one end and a wide arch to the dining table and chairs at the other.
Two sets of French doors lead out from the living room to a lovely large terrace, from which there are views down to the pool and garden and over to Lagos town. To one side of the terrace there is a built-in gas barbecue and furniture for outside dining. Steps curve down from this terrace to the lovely blue and white tiled swimming pool (11x5 metres), which has built-in steps and is surrounded by a large open terrace. The pool has a bubble cover on a roller which may be used throughout the season; if used correctly this really helps retain the warmth from the sun. There is a shower by the pool.
Doors from both the hall and dining room end of the living room lead into a well-fitted kitchen. This has a split-level cooker with electric oven and gas/electric hob, a large electric fridge with separate deep freeze, a microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a locked maid’s cupboard in the kitchen.
A corridor to the left of the hall leads to two double bedrooms. One has twin beds with zip and linked mattresses so may be made as a double (To be requested on your arrival letter) and a full bathroom en-suite (bathtub with shower fitting, double basins, bidet and loo). The other has twin beds and there is a cloak/shower room (small shower cubicle, basin and loo) across the corridor. Both these bedrooms have doors out to the terrace, air-conditioning units and good fitted wardrobes
A curved marble staircase leads up from the hall to the master double bedroom, with large double bed (1,80 x 2m) and a large en-suite full bathroom, (with bathtub, separate shower unit, double basins, bidet and loo. It also has an individually controlled air-conditioning unit and good fitted cupboards. French doors lead from the bedroom to a private terrace from where more steps lead up to a roof terrace. The views from both these terraces are spectacular, across villas, apartments and countryside to the sea, Lagos and the rocky coast around Praia Dona Ana.
The villa is connected to mains, electricity and water. Bottled gas is delivered, stored outside and piped into the villa for use in cooking and water heating. There are individually controlled air-conditioning units in all the bedrooms and the sitting/dining room. There is an extra payment of £80 per week for their use. These units can also be used as heaters in the winter time at a rate to be arranged. The TV is connected to a local MEO system with several programmes in English. There is a separate box to receive BBC and ITV and a large assortment of channels and films via the internet. The MEO system also provides an internet Wi-Fi connection for basic use only, emails etc. –only limited downloads. Please note that if you use iPads etc.at the same time as the television it could cause the picture to breakup. There is a DVD player and music centre. Bring your own DVDs and CDs. There is a telephone for incoming and restricted out-going calls only; the number will be given to you prior to your departure. The house is fitted with a security alarm, connected to a 24hr control centre. There is a small safe for your cash and passports (but please do not bring any valuables). There is an electrical smoke alarm system installed throughout the villa. The house has a travel cot which if ordered in advance is included in the price. There is a hair dryer in each bedroom. There is a built-in gas Barbecue. The pool has a bubble cover (not a safety cover) on a support roller. If you keep the pool covered when not in use during the day, and at night, the cover helps keep the pool a little warmer. A maintenance service cleans the pool every week. Some pool towels are provided. There is a maid cleaning service: after a full week, there is a house clean and the bed-linen and towels will be changed. Then there is a brief mid-week clean. The bed linen will not be changed for a 10-day holiday and the brief clean will be halfway through your visit. Extra cleaning can be arranged at extra cost but must be requested in advance. Garden maintenance is arranged and comes once a week. The garage is used for the water heater and storage, not for cars!

Just returned from our fifth holiday at Casa Vista Linda and we've had yet another lovely relaxing break. Location and facilities are fabulous and we'll certainly be returning again and again.
