Villa Helios is in Lardos which is a village very close to Lindos. It is a luxury spacious individual detached villa with its own (8.5m x 4m) private pool and extensive beautiful well tended gardens.
Villa Helios can accommodate up to 6 adults + two children (one child in a cot up to approximately 3 years old and another child on a sofa bed up to approximately 12 years old).
On arriving at the villa, you feel like you are in the countryside, but you are just a 7 minute walk from Lardos village. Villa Helios is close to all the amenities yet is situated in a beautiful rural location surrounded by olive trees and Greek countryside. It is very private and secluded in the garden and pool area, offering a wonderful sanctuary where you can relax. The Villa is completely detached offering total seclusion. There are beautiful views from all the rooms. Villa Helios therefore offers the best of both worlds - a wonderful peaceful location but within easy walking distance of a great village.
The ground floor is made up of an open plan living room with 3 sofas, a full kitchen and dining area. Also, on the ground floor is the huge master bedroom with its large double bed, additional sofa bed, cot and en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, there are two twin bedrooms, one of which leads onto a very large terrace with an outside seating area and table ideal for those summer evenings or to take in the view of the mountains and surrounding countryside. On the first floor there is a fully fitted bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, toilet and washbasin. Outside, Villa Helios offers a private pool with 6 sun-loungers, a terrace with a stone table for dining and another terrace with table and chairs for outdoor living. The garden is a very large area with Mediterranean plants and a purpose built BBQ for your enjoyment. The garden is completely enclosed and has a great grassy area for children to play. There is also a dedicated private parking area. The Villa is completely detached and not part of a development. It therefore offers privacy and the secure walled garden allows children to play safely.
Villa Helios is in an excellent position just outside the lively Greek village of Lardos in the Lindos area. Just a seven minute stroll away you will find some great restaurants and tavernas, bars, supermarkets, bakery, butchers, fishmongers, doctor and pharmacy. Lardos has its’ own taxi rank with a price list so you can easily travel to Lindos or Pefkos for a night out if you choose not to drive.
This spacious villa is less than a 10 minute drive from the iconic village of Lindos with its whitewashed buildings and small winding streets full of interesting gift shops, atmospheric restaurants and bars. Lardos beach is just a couple of minutes drive away with water sports facilities, sun beds, umbrellas and beach tavernas.
When people travel to the South of Rhodes, they often think of Lindos; and of course, Lindos is only minutes away by car. Lardos, however, is a real Greek Village full of great atmosphere where you can watch the Greek way of life unfolding in front of you. There is a surprising variety of really good restaurants. There are three Greek Tavernas, an Italian Pizzeria, and a Mediterranean Cuisine establishment, so plenty to choose from. As well as great restaurants, there is also a selection of bars and cafes where you can while away the hours enjoying time with the friendly locals. As well as the village, Lardos has a Blue Flag beach with extensive watersports facilities. Pefkos beach also has a Blue Flag rating.
Villa Helios is well placed for travelling further south on the island of Rhodes. The first thing that you will pass, travelling south is a mini golf course which is great fun for families and friends alike. Then, carrying on, you will pass Glystra beach which is a lovely sandy bay with a snack bar ideal for spending the day. Right at the southern tip of the island you will find Prasonissi which is famous for the two seas meeting - the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas which is quite a sight to witness. This is also where many kite surfers and windsurfers gather from all over the world. They can put on quite a show if you are lucky!
Then, going north of Villa Helios, the main road leads you all the way to Rhodes town where you will find the ancient walled city which is a must see for anyone visiting the island. All along this Eastern coast there are also fantastic beaches to spend the day on.
Villa Helios, Lardos, is therefore in a fantastic position for a holiday that can be as peaceful or active as you would like it to be!

The villa is registered with the Greek Government to comply with rules for renting. A.M.A. 00000326521.

August 2020 Barker family Paul, Aloma, Daniel, Callum, Philip & Tabitha

By Barker Family on 23-Aug-2020

It was going to take more than a pandemic to stop us returning to Villa Helios. Warmly greeted by Ray and Karen - Villa gardens and pool were stunning (as expected).
We have had a glorious two weeks and are looking forward to returning in April … and August.
Thank you to
Steve and Norma

Beautiful villa for family holiday

By Steve B. on 10-Jul-2018

Villa Helios is a fairly new modern spacious villa in lovingly maintained garden grounds just 10 mins walk from Lardos Village centre. There is a brilliant swimming pool which is maintained by Ray who also does the gardening.
The villa was very clean and tidy on our arrival and it was great to be met by Karen despite our arrival after midnight! Villa Helios has air conditioning in the main living/ kitchen area as well as in the 3 bedrooms and this was a god send given that temperatures exceeded 40deg C at times during our stay.
We cooked a lot of our own food and the equipment provided is fine for that.
There was a great welcome pack provided by Karen which included a surprise bottle of Fizz- a lovely touch since it was our big anniversary.
Both Ray and Karen were really helpful and contactable anytime for advice. They know the area well so lots of hints and tips to be had.
Lardos village has two supermarkets , a butcher and a fishmonger- fresh fish is expensive but really delicious. We loved eating traditional Greek food at Valentina's and watched a few World Cup games at Memories bar- terrific service in both!
Close to Lindos, the villa has easy access to the main road round the island, but we were thrilled more by the interior of the island with pine forests and wild herbs and spectacular views. A visit to Ancient Kamiros is a must!
You will need a car- just be careful to check out the car hire firm's credentials and be sure to keep your papers with you in case of an accident.
We would thoroughly recommend Villa Helios for older family groups who are looking for peace and quiet but with easy access to the more lively centres on the coast.

Absolutely fantastic!

By Geoff & Marg P., Hereford on 29-Sep-2017

We arrived later than planned on the Monday evening but Karen was there to greet us and show us around the villa. She was very helpful and friendly to the point she called in Wednesday morning to make sure we were ok before she flew to back to the UK. The villa itself had everything you could think of plus more. It was very clean with plenty of towels for the pool and showering. The location is quiet and within a 10 minute walk to the village of Lardos which has fantastic restaurants and a couple of bars. All in all a fantastic villa and location.

Andrew s

By Andrew S on 29-Aug-2017

We stayed at Villa Helios in June 2012 and vowed to return one day, having enjoyed our stay so much first time round. Second time round, we found it even better. When we arrived, we were amazed how well established the beautiful gardens were, since our last visit five years ago and this makes the grounds even more private. We cannot emphasise how lovely the mountain views and countryside setting is, coupled with the fact that it is also very quiet and secluded, it is simply perfect for families. The property boundary is secured with a stone wall and gate. There is a spacious parking area, which is ideal when renting a car. We arrived later in the evening, in the middle of a heat wave and found the air conditioning, throughout the property, was heavenly and made sleeping at night so much more comfortable. The Villa was extremely clean, tidy and well equipped and also very spacious, particularly with 6 people in our party. The pool area is beautiful and ideal for young children too, as it has a raised shallow end (as shown in the picture). The Villa is a few minutes stroll to the beautiful Lardos village, which has a fine selection of shops and traditional Greek tavernas and the locals, in this 'typically' Greek village, will make you feel very welcome.
Once again, thank you so much for another amazing holiday.

Lovely Villa in Beautiful Garden

By What8ever@SusanP. on 15-Jun-2017

The three of us loved the villa, it is as described and very clean . The pool and surrounding garden are a joy. Little extra touches made the difference. A welcome pack after a very long journey is such a good idea, nice towels for both indoors and around the pool which really helps with luggage weight restrictions. There are lots of books to read a really well equipped kitchen etc. Karen the caretaker was really helpful and friendly as were most of the people sorted out really promptly any minor issues we had e.g. working the shutters. When we mentioned a fishing that would be useful to get the bits out of the pool it was there the next morning. Nicola and Cleo were also great in sorting out the details of our stay arranging attached re taxi etc. Finally the walk to Lardos has been mentioned quite a lot in previous reviews but it's only a few minutes walk (I am in my 60s) but remember to take a torch - naturally there is one supplied if you wish to if you walk back in the dark after an evening in one of the restaurants or bars.

Great villa holiday

By Margaret A. on 09-Nov-2016

We had a brilliant holiday. The description of the house and the location is very accurate. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Peter and Karen provided great support and were available whenever we needed help, advice or suggestions. We walked into the village every night for lovely food and drink and a very relaxed holiday atmosphere. We had terrific trips especially to Lindos, St. Pauls Bay and the sailing trip on the yin Yang at Nextportaway.com. Unforgettable. Thanks to everyone who made our trip so special. I would recommend this property on unequivocally.

Lovely villa in an excellent location

By Linda H. on 23-Oct-2016

Lovely Villa and just a short walk into the village of Lardos which has nice restaurants and Memories cocktail bar. Excellent range of shops including a fishmonger, butcher, baker as well as two supermarkets. Beautifully kept villa pool and garden. We arrived late in the evening and were met by Peter and Karen who made us most welcome. The welcome pack provided was great as we had all we needed for breakfast in the morning without rushing out to the supermarket. We did not have a hire car but getting out and about was not a problem as there was a taxi rank in the village as well as the local buses. We had a brilliant day out on the sailing boat - Yin Yang nextportaway@gmail.com which operates out of Lindos. We often struggle to find a villa which is private yet near to amenities and easy for sightseeing without a car but this villa ticked all the boxes. would certainly recommend to family and friends. Peter and Karen with their local knowledge was an added bonus. A great holiday!

Wonderful villa in a stunning location

By Samantha T. on 03-Sep-2016

I cannot overstate how much we loved this villa and its location on our recent summer holiday. We have in recent years searched for villas with privacy and that are not overlooked and so have often found ourselves in the middle of nowhere and had to drive to get to anything but this villa combines privacy and luxury with very local amenities.
We were warmly greeted by Karen and Peter who look after the property locally (and who are more than happy to help with anything you need) and were shown round the villa. We had a welcome pack (2 x wine, milk, bread, butter, ice, water, cheese, ham etc.) plus the kitchen was well stocked with herbs, seasonings, and cleaning equipment and chemicals etc. The pool area was lovely and we really liked the stepped part of the pool that we could sit in and read a book whilst staying cool. The grounds are really well cared for with lovely greenery and plants and plenty of parking space. Inside the Master bedroom is especially lovely but all bedrooms are nice and lots of wardrobes and drawers.
The local village of Lardos is a 5 minute walk or a 10 minute very lazy meander away and has everything you could need. There are two mini supermarkets, 2 butchers, a bakers, 2 cocktail bars a wine bar, half a dozen excellent restaurants, a taxi rank, bus stop and a couple of souvenir shops. On our last night there was a village greek night with free food and dancing and music.
We rented a car from George cars which was very reasonable and explored the island leisurely on what were very good roads. Lindos was a bit commercialised but worth a visit and we would recommend an early evening visit as the streets are quite narrow and too many tourists make it unbearable. Rhodes old town was lovely as was the Seven Springs and the beaches of Antony Quinn and Ladiko Bays. The bus service from Lardos is also very good (and air conditioned!) and we also recommend Dimittri the taxi driver in the village.
Rhodes was a lovely mix of traditional but had also moved with the times and was very modern in some aspects. We would definitely recommend the villa, the village and Rhodes as a whole. Restaurants we would recommend are Ostria in Kalathos, Philosophia in Pefkos and Valantinas and Roulas in Lardos. We loved this villa and hope you do too.

Highly recommend, Amazing Villa

By Remigijus D. on 25-Aug-2016

If you looking the perfect environment, quiet location and short walk to fish or meat shops, restaurants, supermarkets than this place for you. This Villa with it's own pool is absolutely wonderful, well-equipped with barbecue place, spacious and luxurious, we had the most enjoyable stay. Very convenient for two families. We were with five children, 2, 4, 7, 9 and 13 year old. The location is fantastic, with the beach and famous places minutes away, near village Lardos. In the surrounding villages the local restaurants were perfect serving fantastic greek food.
The property was very clean, environment maintained, clean pool. Special thanks for Peter and Karen, they are very helpful and nice people. They take care for everything, and help us, when it was need (was truly needed). Thanks for a wonderful holiday !!!

By Pamela C. on 24-Aug-2016

We had a wonderful holiday in Villa Helios in Lardos. The Villa was bright clean and spacious. We were given a great welcome on our arrival and this continued throughout our stay. It was a short walk into the village of Lardos, which although small, had plenty of restaurants and a convenient taxi rank. We had a great holiday

Lovely relaxing place to stay with friends

By Julie L. on 04-Aug-2016

We are a mixed bunch of 5 friends/family and one pre-teen (boy 12yrs) so we are never easy to please as we all think we are right (!), but this villa, and its location, were perfect. We arrived late in the evening to a warm welcome and a fridge stocked with esssentials, including beers/wine, which was a nice start to a great break. Peter and Karen look after things there and are very helpful yet unobtrusive. The villa and gardens throughout were immaculate and well tended. Efficient air con was appreciated as it was so hot, and the pool was clean and big enough for our needs with poolside comfy beds and shade. Great location for wandering into the local village where the food was good, and LIndos just down the road for a bit of excitement. All in all we enjoyed immensely and can recommend.

Idyllic greek family holiday

By Verified Traveller on 31-Jul-2013

Our stay at Villa Helios in June was our first experience of visiting Greece and we will definitely make a point of visiting again. The team were so helpful with our booking and welcoming us to the property and the villa itself was perfect. Lardos is just a short walk away with all the facilities you need. There are two supermarkets, bakers, fishmonger, veg shop and the most fantastic butcher's shop. We spent most evenings by the pool with a g&t and had a barbecue, which was just bliss.
The villa is set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by olive groves, away from the main tourist area, which we really liked. Having said that there were some lovely restaurants and bars in Lardos. We tried Valentinas and a lovely pizza restaurant and the best bar in town is the grapevine.
All in all we couldn't fault our stay and would love to go back.

Beautiful, luxury villa in an excellent Location.

By Andrew S. on 24-Oct-2012

We experienced a truly fantastic holiday whilst staying at Villa Helios. The villa stands in a beautiful setting, which is very quiet, secluded and extremely safe for children. It's also in a very private position, not being overlooked, which was an added bonus. There is a large, private parking area. The pool area has to be seen, it is beautiful. We relaxed on the sun loungers by the pool for most of the holiday, soaking up the Greek sunshine. Most important, is the fact that the pool area has been very carefully designed, appealing to all ages. It has a shallow end, which is ideal for young children, something a lot of properties don't offer. There is a very large, attractive garden area with a range of beautiful plants and flowers. Some of our best nights were spent just relaxing at Villa Helios, enjoying a delicious BBQ along with a glass of local wine. Although the villa is in a peaceful, countryside setting, it is situated just a few minutes walk from Lardos village, where you will find a selection of shops and traditional Greek tavernas, offering local Greek dishes. This villa is newly built, being completed only a few weeks before our arrival. It is very spacious and spotlessly clean and the decor is both modern and classy. Beds are extremely comfortable and along with the excellent air-conditioning system, we had fantastic sleep and a very restful holiday. Villa Helios is equipped with a wide range of high quality, comfortable furniture, ensuring that 'home from home' experience. This really was an amazing holiday and we are already looking for dates to return next summer (2013). I have recommended Villa Helios to all my family and friends. We enjoyed our stay so much, that I would like them to experience it for themselves.
Thank you so much for an amazing holiday.
Andrew & family

Very highly recommended!

By Richard J. on 07-Sep-2012

We had a fantastic week's holiday here in late August, in the middle of a mini heatwave so it was hot! The villa is large, comfortable, very well equipped and in an excellent location. It's in a private position with a good sized garden next to an olive grove, and not overlooked by other villas. The pool is great for both adults, older and younger children as it has cleverly thought out shallow end. There are views to the hills fringing Lardos and it is a 5 to 10 minute lazy stroll into the vibrant and atmospheric village of Lardos where there are several excellent tavernas, bars and mini-supermarkets. The villa is a great kicking off point to explore the island, though it was too hot for us to do a great deal which suited our kids who lived in the pool. The excellent air-conditioning throughout meant that nights were comfortable and all the rooms are big and tastefully decorated. We felt the villa and the gardens are kept to a very high standard. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
