Situated in a stunning position on the Serra da Lousa mountain range, Casa Boa Vista is a beautiful Portuguese house restored to a very high standard.
One can only describe this house as true luxury accommodation with three double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms with large step in showers, a very spacious fully equipped kitchen/ dining area and a beautiful tastefully decorated lounge with a log burner for cooler days and ceiling fans for summer.
The first double bedroom is situated off the lounge with an adjoining large en suite bathroom. A pine stairway provides access down to the other two beautiful bedrooms, both en-suite, with french doors in each, leading to the lovely garden and patio areas.
The kitchen/dining room leads onto a lovely elevated deck area, which is perfect for alfresco dining and provides an area of relaxation to catch the afternoon and evening sun. From the deck there are truly stunning views down to the valley and mountain ranges beyond. Sunsets viewed from here are truly amazing.
The garden features a pergola with adjustable screens for garden dining, a paved BBQ area, and a special feature is the spa/hot tub, seating five persons, where one can relax with a cold drink and ease tired muscles whilst taking in the incredible views
Many species of birds can be seen daily. Eagles soaring lazily on the thermals are quite common and at night one can hear and occasionally see various species of owls in the trees nearby. Sometimes you may see deer who often have an early morning graze in the fields below.
The town of Lousa, only 5 minutes away by car and has all amenities with supermarkets, banks and many restaurants, cafes and bars. There is also a health clinic and an excellent fire and ambulance paramedic service.
Fantastic beaches are only a fifty minute drive away. These offer all water sports including excellent surfing facilities.
There are river beaches close by which are great for relaxing, kayaking or swimming and these have restaurants and bars which serve snacks or full meals as required.
A para gliding centre is near to the property where one can tandem jump with experienced fliers and soar across the Serra Da Lousa.
River and sea fishing can be enjoyed as can mountain biking and moto cross and quad experiences.
We look forward to welcoming you to Casa Boa Vista and this beautiful part of Portugal.
The wow factor plus some!

The accommodation and the location were exactly as described and from the moment we arrived until the end of our stay we were amazed by the quality and attention to detail throughout. The inside of the villa was stunning and everything that we could have wanted had been provided, including a much-appreciated welcome pack. During our stay the temperatures outside were in the low 30's but the inside always felt cool and comfortable, particularly the ground floor bedrooms. The large upper deck enabled us to take full advantage of the tranquility of the location and appreciate the panoramic views. We enjoyed strolling around the nearby town of Lousa and visiting the local cafes, bars and restaurants where the staff were always very welcoming. Liz and Bob could not have been more helpful or accommodating and their knowledge of local restaurants and worthwhile places to visit (especially the unique river beaches) was particularly valuable. We would unreservedly recommend staying in their villa.

The villa is beautiful - spacious with such attention to detail & tastefully decorated & furnished throughout. The view is vast & when we finally tried the hot tub on the last two nights we wished we’d done it every night. The sunset is gorgeous. Liz & Bob very helpful & kind, even giving us a Sat Nav with all the local attractions pre-set. The location is great for exploring this region of Portugal which is really beautiful. A car is a must but I doubt you’d come to this region without one. Liz & Bob also left us some goodies including home made cakes. The carrot cake was delicious ! This really is a lovely villa & surroundings - so peaceful but only a short drive from local amenities including supermarkets & pharmacies. The photos do not do the villa justice. I would highly recommend the villa & would very much like to return.

What an amazing place! Although it took quite a while to get there (car hire is a must) it was well worth it! It was a beautiful, spacious 3 bed house with stunning views. Our daughter enjoyed the pool and the sheep next door and we loved the hot tub! The owners had thought of everything and provided us with plenty of delicious food and drink. The cake was especially a winner! If you want to get away from it all with your family then this place is perfect. We shall definitely be visiting again. Thank you Liz and Bob for such an amazing few days!
Perfect chill out location
By Wanderer818288 on 29-Jul-2019
Liz and Bob are perfect hosts. Present, but discrete. Very friendly and helpful. This was the perfect location for our holiday. The view from the villa into the mountains is endless and breathtaking. Every sunset is a treat. The space inside the house is enormous. But wat was outstanding was the way everything was taken care of. We had a welcome never seen before with a fridge filled with food and drinks to take you through the first day. Besides all the basics there was coffee, tea, sugar, oil, spices, garbage bags, dishwasher tablets,... It is a beautiful regio to visit and we would definitely recommend to make this casa you home base.
The Perfect Mountainside Getaway
By Sleepworker on 24-Sep-2018
We arrived to find a spotless spacious villa and the most stunning views from the garden. We were able to make the most of the lovely welcome pack and carrot cake provided in the kitchen and could sit and relax straight away in the peace and quiet. The villa is set in a lovely secluded area, with plenty of privacy, but you can reach the town very easily to stock up on shopping or to go out for a meal or pick up a takeaway if you fancy sampling some of the lovely local restaurants. A car is definitely needed as there are loads of wonderful places to visit, including Lisbon, but as there is a private above ground pool and hot tub at the property we were more than happy to lay in, chill out and make the most of the wonderful break away from the stresses of daily life. We cant wait to book again and will be recommending to as many people as will listen!

The location of this cottage in the mountains, just above Lousa, is truly spectacular. A short drive to restaurants/shops and supermarkets and yet in such beautiful surroundings. None of the photos do this place justice; we just couldn't believe how lovely it was when we arrived. The cottage is immaculate and very well laid out, open plan with a log burner for chilly evenings. It had everything you could ask for including amazingly comfortable big beds. We spent each evening in the hot tub overlooking the goats and mountain view with a glass of wine; fantastic after a day walking in the breathtaking Schiste villages nearby. The owners of the cottage Liz and Bob couldn't have done more to make our stay so special. They provided homemade cakes and preserves and a variety of supplies on our arrival so we didn't even need to shop until the next day. On a wet day Liz arranged for a masseuse to come in and give my husband and I treatments in front of the log fire.Lovely. Liz also took us on some fantastic walks and was on hand whenever we needed advice on places to visit or eat. Liz and Bob were fantastic hosts and they turned a fantastic cottage into a spectacular visit. The area is so central to everything and I cannot praise this cottage enough or the hosts. Thank you Liz and Bob...we will definitely be back.
This house is a real find in a wonderful part of a wonderful country with amazing hosts!
By Betsy Stephens on 10-Nov-2017
My husband and I, our daughter and husband (from the US), and friends from the UK, shared this house for a week in mid November. There are three attractive, comfortable separate bedrooms with ensuite baths - good beds and hot water showers. The public space is well organized including a good kitchen area - well appointed with everything one needs. The house is on two levels with privacy for everyone. It is quiet and good sleeping.
Liz and Bob are amazing hosts. Liz left us homemade bread and cake, fruit, butter, jams, wine, ham, bacon, eggs, cheeses, oil, vinegar ...... In addition, they loaned us a GPS with all the local places already in the system, and lots of information about what to visit in the area.
The house is well situated near Lousa (and 5 minutes from a good super market) - with a beautiful view over the valley and lots of back roads and trails nearby. It is not far from the schist villages, an easy drive to Coimbra and Tomar and we were able to make a day's trip to Porto.
Magnifique séjour à la campagne

Superbe séjour dans cette spacieuse maison, nous avons passé de merveilleux moments en famille dans le jacuzzi .Un grand merci à Liz et à Bob pour leurs petites attentions.A renouvellera sans modération
Thank you Odette for the lovely review - we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our cottage. You and your family were perfect guests. We look forward to welcoming you back for another vacation. I hope you don't mind but I have used Google to translate your review in to English - whilst the translation may not be perfect I think the sentiment is clear - "Magnificent stay in the countryside Superb stay in this spacious house, we spent wonderful family moments in the jacuzzi. A big thank you to Liz and Bob for their little attentions.A renewed without moderation"
Amazing ciottage, beautiful location with exceptional hosts
By Dave, Katie And Kids on 14-Aug-2017
Communication with Liz was fabulous as she gave us directions to the cottage - although Bob came to our aid at the end as we missed a turning.
The cottage itself was simply stunning. The space was amazing and pure luxury - the beds were huge! It had everything you could possibly need. The homemade cakes were gorgeous and the other provisions were very much welcomed. The hot tub and pool were pure relaxation particularly on an evening. Great time for star gazing.
Liz and Bob were on hand to give local information but also provided was a file with lots of information about the surrounding area. We used a leaflet to give direction for a drive around the local area.
The cottage was ideally located with stunning views. It was a good base to explore further afield.
Would recommend Hilary -
wonderful Reiki experience and arranged by Liz.
Would recommend to all and would love to return.

Liz and Bob's renovated house has been finished to a very high standard without losing any of its charm. We loved our week here. The bedrooms were large and cool, even in the 34 degree heat and the huge beds so comfortable. The living area has all the mod cons and when we arrived Liz had left us a nice little selection of home made bread and cakes + milk, and wine. Outside there is plenty of space and areas where you can sit in the sun or shade. The hot tub was a real bonus and we spent many evenings enjoying a glass of fizzy in the tub watching the sunset. The house was in a nice quiet spot about 2km outside the town of Lousa, where there are plenty of good restaurants and all the usual supermarkets. We couldn't fault Liz and Bobs cottage in any way, and also enjoyed sharing a glass of wine or two with them. Thanks very much for the hospitality.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay here and thank you for the lovely review. We hope to see you upon your return to Portugal in the near future. It was a pleasure to have you stay in our cottage.
Amazing villa with spectacular views
By Jenny N on 03-Mar-2017
The villa is situated with incredible views of the surrounding area and town below. The facilities were excellent and the property was very clean and comfortable. Liz and Bob were very welcoming and gave us good advice on places to visit in the local area. We found some amazing walks in the mountains and the best thing was to come back to the villa and enjoy the hot tub to relax afterwards. There are some lovely Portuguese restaurants in the town, particularly 'The Black Cat'. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in this property.
Thank you for taking the time to review our property, we are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday and this wonderful region of Portugal. We look forward to welcoming you back again Just one note the restaurant is called O Gato ( in Portuguese) which has excellent Portuguese food and great value for money.
Beautiful villa with amazing views
By Ian Hutinson on 21-Oct-2016
The villa is situated in a quiet and picturesque Portuguese village with stunning views. The property has modern facilities with a twist of real wooden beams and wooden staircase given it a very traditional look which is immaculate throughout. The owners, Bob and Liz, were wonderful hosts and gave us some great advice on local amenities along with a folder containing helpful information on the area for eating out and places to visit. Surrounded by mountains, you can enjoy peaceful walks and in the evening have a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We would highly recommend a stay in this property.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in this scenic part of Portugal and that you enjoyed the facilities at the house. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
