We didn't want to leave

What can I add to the reviews that have already been written. A self catering rental apartment on a working organic farm in a idyllic rural location, complete with cows and very friendly cats. The apartment itself was beautifully outfitted and serious thought had gone into outfitting it to meet every possible need and consideration.
Guilia was very welcoming (she had patiently waited as our flight was delayed by three hours and the welcome pack she had placed in the kitchen was very much appreciated - we now have a taste for home made wild cherry jam...and Niccino, following one of Guilia's excellent dinners..... and the local chilled white wine was to die for!
The apartment itself was on a hilltop so it collected a welcoming breeze (temperatures reached 36C during the day whilst we were there), no air conditioning in the apartment but the quality of the insulation was such that it wasn't needed - warm outside, cool inside and the location itself was very secluded with privacy guaranteed. Bearing in mind that the Locanda is relatively remote, there was an excellent free Wi-Fi service and we were able to connect to anything and everything without any difficulty.
We were very grateful for the use of the outdoor pool at the main house - being able to dive in and cool off at the end of the day was a merciful relief. The pool was beautifully kept at a perfect temperature - I've noted in other reviews complaints about leaves and insects landing in the water - heaven's sake! It's a rural organic farm, it's going to happen, and that's why Guilia keeps a net at the side of the pool so you can fish the things out if they bother you.
This is a perfect place to base yourself if you want to completely switch off or do the cultural thing - Urbino is in sight on a hilltop to the north (about 15-20 minutes drive) and towns such as Fabriano and Gubbio are within striking distance on uncrowded roads. The fortress of San Leo is well worth a visit but harder work to get there.
A Conad supermarket is in Fermignano - about 10 minutes drive - alongside the SP4 as it passes the south side of the town, and it's worth exploring the town market on Saturday morning.
Highlight for us was walking back in the dark to the apartment from the main house following one of Guilia's dinners, turning off the torch and being surrounded by fireflies - something we've never experienced before - a very surreal experience and actually a sign of a true organic farm and the absence of chemicals.
Top Tip - you have to have a car to get around in this area of Marche which was hillier than I had expected. We had hired a 5 door Toyota Aygo out of Bologna and with two people in it, it struggled to get up the hills and around the switchbacks. Small cars are a good idea but go for something with at least 1.8-2.0L under the bonnet to make sure that you're not holding up the locals or coming to a juddering halt when you least need it....
Valle Nuova is a delight - my wife and I rarely return for a second visit to somewhere we've been, but this is one place we *will* come back to. Very many thanks Guilia, we loved it! **Highly recommended**

We had a great two weeks in Casa de Tordi, the first week on our own, the second with our grown up son. The apartment is cool and airy, and we didnt miss aircon despite it being in the 30's outside. Lovely views, fabulous veg in the kitchen garden nice pool, lots of peace and quiet, great meals in the main house cooked every few days by Julia and her mum, highly recommended, and a nice way to meet up with the other guests. It was interesting to learn a bit about life on an organic farm - I hadnt realised how little I knew ! Julia is friendly, welcoming, well organised and professional - which makes for a relaxing holiday.
Fermignano is a nice local town for shopping and coffees, and Urbino an interesting place to visit. We enjoyed exploring the local area - no need to travel far on the rather (to me ) scary main roads! We had travelled to the area by train but were glad we hired to car (at Pesaro station) to get around in - it would be a very long walk or cycle to any sort of shop.
