Lovely villa in a tranquil setting

By Richard, Melanie And Isabelle on 09-Aug-2018

Stayed at Villa Rosa first two weeks of July. It's a lovely villa, with a fantastic pool and outside living area. We spent most days relaxing by the pool in two weeks of beautiful Italian sunshine. The villa is fully equipped and a good size, making an excellent base for exploring the region. The towns of Brindisi and Lecce are within 30 minutes drive and well worth a visit. Casabalate is a very small seaside resort, but has everything to hand including a lovely pizza restaurant, which we visited several times. Debbie and Bob the owners were excellent hosts and on hand nearby ,providing a delicious welcome basket on arrival, full of local produce. Thank you both, we hope to return Richard, Melanie and Isabelle

Paradise in Puglia!

By Elly R. on 07-Aug-2018

We return to Puglia and this gorgeous villa every year, people often ask us "Why?" but the answers are very simple.
Firstly every year there will be improvements to the villa - whether it's new furniture, more efficient heating in the pool, re-paving of the outside area, air-conditioning throughout etc.etc. It's fun to arrive and spot what's new! Secondly are the things that don't change - and that is the amazing standard of care you will receive from the owners. It starts with the super generous "welcome basket" which has everything you need to ensure your holiday has a relaxed beginning. No running round, panicking as you try and find a nearby supermarket, just tuck in to your first meal and have a glass of the delicious Puglian wine by the pool! And then, if you're the private type Bob and Debbie will ensure you get your privacy, but they are always a phone call away. We've seen first hand the care they offer when it is needed. We were chatting to them when a call came from guests at their other villa who had had minor accident in their car. Immediately Bob and Debbie stepped in, they were off to help them cope with the whole process, including dealing with the local police and car hire company. That's the kind of peace of mind you can have when you stay at Villa Rosa.
Next is the advantages of local knowledge. Once again Bob and Debbie can give you advice as to where to go and what to do. With their help we have found out of the way restaurants with local food at amazing prices, wine tours, cheese tasting, fishing trips , the list goes on. We've seen the Salento region through the eyes of people who live there and it's been a privilege and means we find something new and wonderful every time we go.
Lastly this villa is simply the best we've ever been to: the best equipped (by miles), the best value for money and the most comfortable. Coming back there now feels like a home away from home.
We'll be there again next year and are hoping to bring new friends to introduce to the paradise we have found! We can't wait.

Perfect if you’re looking for the real Italy

By Lone N. on 13-Jul-2018

What a perfect place! We were looking for a non-touristy area with a local feel. We wanted a place with a pool and access to a beach. And this place has it all.
The house is wee kept, clean and has everything you need. And if there’s anything amiss The owners Bob and Debbie takes care of it straight away. Not only is there a marvellous welcome pack with a meal, breakfast products and home produce, Bob will also gladly meet and greet (even in the middle of the night) to make sure your arrival runs smoothly. The pool is great and the outdoor seating and dining area used all the time. A big bonus is the dishwasher and washer.
Casalabate is a cosy, friendly and very Italian town with a holiday feel about it. Every evening we enjoyed joining the locals doing their passiate (strolling along the waterfront meeting friends and family for a chat). Bob and Debbie provides you with an extensive what-to-dou002Fhow-tou002Fwhere-to-eat folder which is very handy. Not much English is spoken in Casalabate, but that is exactly what we were looking for and it was part of the fun.
We were 2 adults with our to big teenage sons (14 and 19) and a girlfriend (18) and everybody agrees that this house and small town is the perfect place. And Bob and Debbie are wonderful host - before, during and after. We will definitely be back!

What a fantastic week. The owners, Bob and Debbie, were at the villa waiting for us when we arrived and showed us how everything worked. The welcome basket was the best we have seen: home made chutney, marmalade, bread, cereal, meatballs from the Puglian Chef, local wine, milk and more. Such a treat! The villa was accurately described and clean and the swimming pool a perfect size for children. Nothing was too much trouble for Bob and Debbie. We have booked to return next year!

All we hoped for and more

By Pillroyd Christchurch, United Kingdom on 18-Aug-2017

The villa and location are perfect - the pool provided hours of entertainment and the beach is on the doorstep. The villa was well laid out and equipped with everything we needed. Debbie and Bob were a phonecall away if we needed anything and answered any questions swiftly and helpfully. The local village/town is a 2 minute walk and we spent most evenings here trying the different restaurants and gelateria!
We love it here and have booked again for next year.
Thank you, Debbie and Bob, for an amazing holiday.

Even better this year

By Eastendbird on 23-Aug-2016

We love this villa so much we were back again this year! I've raved before about the amenities and the wonderful hosts, Bob and Debbie, what I really admire is they don't rest on their laurels but always seek to improve the villa each year. This time we enjoyed the beautiful newly paved patio area outside, access to British (and other international) TV channels and a brand new ceiling fan in the sitting room that kept us cool during the day. Best of all there is now air conditioning in both the bedrooms that we made use of at night. We are now counting the days until we can return again!

super maison, super piscine

By Bruno P. Angers, France on 03-Aug-2016

Central in Puglia very well equipped villa

By Bas D on 20-Jul-2016

We arrived in the evening at the villa and enjoyed a very warm welcome by the owners. The villa is situated very central in Puglia, ideal for trips to nearby villages and towns. We have stayed in many villas before but this one was the best equipped we came accross so far! More than that, there is off course the famous welcome basket with lots of typical puglian and home made products (by Debbie!). We also did the wine tour with Debbie and Bob. We tasted one of the nicest red wines ever. Furthermore, our children liked the pool area very much, the water was still quite cold in early may, but they didn't care. You'll have absolute privacy in the back garden. We finished our week with a nice wine with Debbie and Bob. They are the most welcoming and friendly owners and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant one. Strongly recommended by us!

Eine kleine feine Villa

By Herbert W. on 08-Jul-2016

Herbert. Sivia und Pepsi aus Innsbruck TIrol

Eine kleine feine Villa

By Herbert W. on 08-Jul-2016

A great place in a great location

By Susan C. on 15-Nov-2015

Villa Rosa is a wonderful villa ideally situated to discover the whole of Puglia. We spent our days exploring from the north to the south of the region coming home in the afternoons/evenings to topple into the fabulous pool and relax beside it. Debbie and Bob were friendly, professional, generous and helpful from the time we made initial contact to our departure. The welcome pack was amazing and had many unexpected treats which we enjoyed throughout our week. In addition, Debbie organised a wine tour for us, which turned out to be one of our highlights. We highly recommend this villa especially for people wanting to combine a cultural experience with a relaxing holiday.

Perfect Puglia

By Eastendbird on 01-Sep-2014

This was our third visit to Villa Rosa and we are already planning to return next year. We have fallen in love with the villa and indeed with the whole of the Salento region! Once again the welcome package was amazing and means you can immediately relax and start to enjoy your holiday - it not only includes the essentials like milk, cheese and cold meats but an incredibly generous amount of delicious local wines, homemade limoncello and lemonade, pasta, snacks and even your first meal, made by the local Puglia Chef. Bob and Debie, the owners work so hard to ensure your holiday is perfect. We arrived late at night due to flight delays but Bob was still there to meet us with a friendly greeting - he'd even put our wine in the fridge to chill! This year we once again took advantage of Bob and Debbie's wide range of local contacts and enjoyed some amazing days out. We went wine and food tasting, visited a beautiful local masseria for an alfresco lunch and an afternoon around the pool. We made salsa with a local family and ended up being invited by them first to a local festival and then to a meal at their house! This is typical of the friendly welcome we received from the locals. The food and wine in the area is wonderful and there are loads of local markets and restaurants to explore. If you wanted to just chill out by the pool or on the many nearby beaches then that is very easy to do too, or explore gorgeous local towns and cities like Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli and ( a new discovery this year) Squinzano. I really can't recommend this villa more highly, unlike some other places we have visited there is no false advertising, what you see on the website is exactly what you get, or no, actually it's far better than that! The ultimate compliment I can give is that part of me wants to keep this villa and the Salento region to myself - it's so unspoiled. But Bob and Debbie deserve to have people beating down their doors to stay here. We certainly cannot wait to return!

Excellent vacation rental

By Gma79902, El Paso, Texs on 08-Jul-2013

We just returned from a fantastic week near the beach in Puglia staying at Villa Rosa. Everything was as advertised. The house, pool and patio were as pictured and located in a convenient, little beach town that had everything we needed, including 2 fish markets, and that hosts a fantastic weekly market on Sundays! The kitchen was well-equipped and there was a grill on the patio. Bob and Debbie greeted us and were available for any questions. They go the extra mile by providing a very complete and thoughtful gift basket and an excellent guide to the house and the area. Uncrowded, lovely sandy beaches were just a very short drive away. The house is well-located for day trips to Lecce, Gallipoli, and Otranto. Highly recommended!

Fantastic property, lovely pool, helpful owners - can't be bettered!

By Janezara Lewes, United Kingdom on 13-Aug-2012

Great house and pool in very convenient position in Casalabate. The welcome basket was just as good as last year at Casa Mare and better than any other holiday home we have stayed in.

Debbie and Bob are brilliant hosts and seem equipped to deal with any issues

A quiet restful stay

By SussieQ Stourbridge, United Kingdom on 02-Jul-2012

We arrived at Villa Rosa after a week of driving through France, Switzerland and Italy. Debbie kindly met us nearby to show us the way. The Villa was lovely, shaded front garden and lovely pool. A welcome lemon tree and seating area where we spent a great deal of time. Debbie and Bob were on the end of the phone whenever we had any queries about local amenities.
The only comment I would make is that the driveway could be widened to make it easier for larger cars to be parked there, but other than that a wonderful experience.
There are beaches near to the house but the better beaches can be found a few miles down the coast. It was well worth our long drive.

Fantastic base for an Italian Holiday

By Https://www.homeaway.co.uk/p59812 on 27-Sep-2011

We are a family of five and we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Rosa. From the first email every communication with Debbie and Bob was informative, friendly and professional. The instructions they provided to the villa were clear and straighforward. Upon arrival we were surprised by the generousity of the welcome basket which meant that we were well provided for our first night. The villa itself is well stocked and the pool is magnificent! We found that both the guide book and the guest book in the villa were rich sources of detail about local beaches, restaurants and surrounding towns and villages and we found that this really informed our visit to Puglia. This is a top notch holiday home and Puglia is a fascinating region that should be visited before it becomes any more developed.

July 25th 2011

By Theo W. on 09-Aug-2011

We are a family of four and had a great, first visit to Puglia. The Villa Rosa was a good anchor for our many travels around the area. The owners, Debbie and Bob, could not have been more helpful - both before and during our stay. All descriptions online of the villa are accurate, and it's very nice to have the beach towels, dvds, games, and very extensive quide books provided with the house. We cooked a lot with local produce and fish. The kitchen is well stocked. The welcome basket is wonderful, full of fresh food and fun treats. The villa is quiet at night for sleeping and very sunny in the day for the pool.

We loved the fun-filled Sun Beach in town, full of Italian families and walked the promenade very night eating gelato. Day trips to Lecce and Oria were beautiful with delicious lunches. Do the drive from Otranto to Leuca, spectacular. With very little Italian, we managed well everywhere. The people here are much friendlier than in some other more crowded areas of Northern Italy. Need a car. Thank you Debbie and Bob!

Discovering wonderful Puglia

By Eastendbird on 25-Aug-2010

If you have ever thought about visiting Puglia then my advice is to book this villa now. All the financial arrangements beforehand were handled in a polite and professional manner and any questions we had were immediately answered. Instructions on how to get there were clear and easy to follow and the villa is a short and straightforward drive from Brindisi airport. The villa itself is fantastic: clean, cosy and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned it is superbly well-equipped – the only thing we added to the kitchen was an extra large lemon squeezer to tackle the huge fresh lemons growing in the back garden! Bob and Debbie (the owners) were so kind and helpful. They gave us our privacy but we always knew they were there to offer help and advice – I think this level of service would make this a particularly good villa to rent if you were a first- timer to the region, or even to Italy. Casalabate itself is small seaside resort but we there is a good restaurant and shops 5 minutes walk from the villa and many more a short drive away. We were amazed at how reasonable prices were and we also enjoyed using the wonderful, cheap local produce to cook our own meals. Puglia itself is amazing. The Salento region is not glamorous or upmarket but it has beauty and enormous charm. We needed our Italian phrasebook as few people speak English but the locals were always friendly and helpful. We alternated between relaxing and enjoying the fantastic pool or nearby beaches and visiting towns in the area. In particular we fell in love with Lecce which is a must see. I cannot believe this area is not full of tourists from all over the world, I have a feeling in the future it will be! So do yourself a favour and go there now whilst you can still have the feeling of discovering a new and wonderful part of Italy.

The perfect holiday

By Tamara Canada on 07-Aug-2010

What a wonderful house in such a wonderful part of Italy! I found Bob & Debbie's villa in Casalabate near perfect (and infinitely better than an experience in Tuscany last year). They have created a holiday home that is both warm and inviting, while still practical and managed with great efficiency (and the complete privacy of the villa is a plus). The pool is divine, and a short drive will get you to any number of gorgeous beaches, including one that was perfect for early morning romps with my dogs (Lido Exotica, 3 min up the road, turning left - go very early and it's all yours). The town itself is no great shakes, but the weekend market is pleasant (and do try the local cheese...very good). More importantly, it is very easy to get to many different locations of interest: I did the Salento peninsula and coast to Otranto one day; the Valley of the Trulli another; and Lecce anytime. Only improvement they could make was a little more air/con in the bedrooms, but it's a small detail. The welcome basket was a really great touch as well - something other holiday rentals tend to omit. Thanks guys!

Home away from home

By Sharan K. Kensington, United Kingdom on 28-Jul-2010

This was our second stay at Villa Rosa. The villa is located close to towns, both big and small, and restaurants that are either a short walk or a short drive away. We found an excellent pizzeria in Torchiarolo- Nonna Lisa's.

We have high standards when it comes to self catering accommodation and can honestly say that Villa Rosa lived up to and beyond our expectations. The house is well maintained and kitted out with all the amentities you could possibly want. The Welcome Basket is very welcome indeed and a very thoughtful gesture on behalf of the owners Bob and Debbie. Both Bob and Debbie are on hand if you need anything at all and are very obliging.

The pool is very inviting and a fun way to spend afternoons. The pool toys and swimming aids are handy if you have children who enjoy a splash about.

The gardens, both in the front and back of the property, provide a wonderful oasis. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts sitting in between tangerine and lemon trees while butterflies fluttered by.

Some beautiful towns e.g. Otranto and Ostuni are about an hour and thirty minutes drive away. The university town of Lecce, about 30 minutes away, boasts beautiful baroque architecture. The Byzantine church in Otranto is a must see.

We enjoyed interacting with some very friendly locals and brushed up on our Italian. We enjoyed staying in the Villa and Casalabate so much that we are already planning our next trip.

This Villa cannot be recommended enough and we are so pleased to have found such a lovely place to enjoy our trips to Italy.

The Villa Rosa Experience

By Chris Edinburgh on 14-Jul-2010

Villa Rosa has just about everything a family needs for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The feeling of seclusion is particularly welcome, although within wasy walking distance from the sea and centre of Casalabate. Everyone enjoyed the refreshing dips in the pool, the delicious local fruit and vegetables and the thoughtful welcoming basket, including some local wine.

Bob and Debbie made us very welcome, providing many useful tips on where to eat and places to visit, including the local markets and bakery - which are a must. Debbie's homemade lemonade was wonderful - we even tried the receipe ourselves, with excellent results!

A great holiday and a perfect location for discovering the Salentine peninsular.

Lovely Villa

By Birgit & Otto NRW, Germany on 09-Jul-2010

By choosing Villa Rosa last year we scored a hit completely to our taste: a spaciously shaped installation of holiday home within a garden, all around very well equipped and mostly in heavenly peace. We've enjoyed Villa Rosa very much just as the nearby beaches: ideal for adults who require for relaxing and children as well who need not be looked after to much. But nevertheless Puglia offers a lot of interesting sights one can see if having a break gets too boring. We've gone "on a cruise" by car on several days to Trani, Alberello, Ostuni and Lecce.

Villa Rosa June 2010

By Graham & Tessa And Phil & Maggie Bucks on 19-Jun-2010

We had an enjoyable two weeks at Villa Rosa. Much of our time was spent relaxing by the pool. Bob and Debbie were very helpful with local advice and also delivered good wine at about 1 Euro a litre! We took advantage of Mino's cooking - delicious. We recommend Ostuni, Otranto and Lecce for visits - a car is a must.

All in all a very relaxing holiday.

A fine holiday

By Nancy And Maureen Boston, USA on 20-May-2010

We had a fine time in this comfortable house. The washing machine was much appreciated and the beds were terrific. We did some day trips to Lecce, Torchiarolo and down the southern coast road. The cliffs near San Andrea were lovely. Even though it is so early in the season we did use the pool and enjoyed sunning on the lounge chairs. It might be helpful to have some English directions for the washing machine use.

Debby and Bob were very helpful when we needed to change our rental car and when there was a plumbing problem. They went above and beyond with the car. The Welcome Basket was a great surprise and kept us going until we could get to a large supermarket.

This is a lovely time of year with clear, sunny days and cooler nights. It has been relaxing and quiet. Our thanks to Debbie and Bob for all their help.

Villa Rosa, Casalabate

By Andy G. on 11-Sep-2009

A very nice villa set in a quiet area. Close to the sea and small seaside town. Would recommend a car to see the surrounding area. Villa has excellent pool, secluded garden, and nice interior with well equiped kitchen.

If you want bright lights and big city this is not the holiday for you. We did not see any other nationality other than Italians in 10 days.

Excellent for that authentic Italian holiday, get away from it all

to Italy like it was 25 years ago.

Villa Rosa, Casalabate, August 2009

By Michael & Shiela, UK on 04-Sep-2009

We had an excellent week at Villa Rosa with superb weather and consquently made full use of the good sized swimming pool. The information supplied was well presented and, more importantly, completely accurate. The property was very clean and well maintained and I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends or indeed anyone else!

The owners had left a lot of material about local places to visit, including ristorantes and this was enhanced by the visitors book (such a good idea!) where comments can be recorded about the quality of food and service etc to help you make up your mind on where to visit. In our week we couldn't expect to see everything and a further visit may well be necessary in the future.

Pleasant and relaxing week at Villa Rosa

By on 29-Jul-2009

Excellent spacious accommodation, friendly and helpful owners, pleasant area, well-maintained swimming pool, generous food basket - I am very glad that I took my friends advice and stayed with my family in Villa Rosa in April 2009. There is everything there to help you enjoying holidays. When you are there look at the book of comments for a friendly advice. Note that a car is needed to get there and around, especially in the "low season".

Villa Rosa is a comfortable villa in a good location. The welcome basket of food and drink was appreciated after the drive from Bari Airport. Bob was very friendly and helpful. The villa was well-equipped and the weather was hot enough in May to use the pool. All in all we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

honeymoon at Villa Rosa

By Sarah S Kent on 15-Nov-2008

Overall the week we spent at Villa Rosa was very good as lots of our needs where catered for. The welcome was so thoughful and allowed for you to get to know the Villa and area at your own pace. The Villa itself was comfortable and peaceful and the pool was beautiful. The local town was an easy walking distance and was welcoming. The welcome folder was very well laid out with full instructions for the Villa and the local towns and areas. The books and DVD's provided kept us entertained when we wanted a night in. Overall we would book this Villa again when we plan to visit this area of Italy and we would recommend this Villa to our friends and family.

A lovely fortnight at Villa Rosa

By Caitkin UK on 25-Oct-2008

We spent a lovely fortnight at Villa Rosa with mostly warm and sunny weather. Bob and Debbie were very helpful without being intrusive and the welcome basket one of the best we've had.

Don't miss the market on Sunday - lots more stalls and people than we expected. We had excellent Sunday lunches at Masseria Pisciani - just antipasto and the "3" dessert plate! Also lovely evening meal at Tenuta Monacelli, at both places made most welcome and showed around the grounds, bedrooms and underground wine/oil cellars. The red wine at Monacelli is really smooth, we bought both wine + oil from both places. We visited Lecce several times, good lunch at Alle due Corte (they have an Eng. translation of the menu), fried vegetables (not bubble + squeak) were lovely and light.

Villa Rosa - the best holiday home

By The Ks UK on 22-Oct-2008

Villa Rosa has to be without doubt the best holiday home I have ever stayed in, the pool, the size of the garden, the DVDs. . The pool is GREAT.

We all had a lovely holiday at Villa Rose. The villa and pool are fabulous, and the weather was beautiful. This is a great place to explore the delights of Puglia. We returned home suitably chilled.

Great pool, great villa

By TeddyBears England on 16-Oct-2008

We thorougly enjoyed our week at Villa Rosa - we wish we could have stayed for longer! Our boys loved the pool so much we hardly left!

Best pizza is opposite the Hotel Perla, beautiful setting rith on the sea. Also good pizza at the back of the hotel. The actual hotel restaurant wasn't great so we don't recommend it!

Otranto is fantastic - a must. We took the coast road and as you enter the twon, park in the huge car park on the right. Lots of good places to eat and shops to shop! All was still going on when we left at 11pm

Thank you for a lovely relaxing time.

Brilliant Holiday

By Ejac Cheshire on 16-Oct-2008

We were here in August 2006 and summed up our holiday as "BRILLIANT". We feel exactly the same in 2008. We just wish we could have stayed longer. Mino's food was an added bonus to an already wonderful holiday destination. Bob, Debbie, Mino and Val are so friendly and helpful, coming back was like coming home.

Relaxing villa, great pool

By Holiday Ollie, England on 08-Oct-2008

What have we enjoyed? Fantastic weather, sun, sun, sun. Peace and quiet. Relaxing villa away from noise. Great pool - good depth for diving and swimming. Spacious bedrooms with comfy wide beds.

Immediate response by Bob and Debbie to any request or need. The welcome basket is a great start to your stay. "Puglia Chef" - a great service. Cuts down on the need to shop and cook and contributed to our wind-down (try the curries too).

Best beach for us - Torre Chiancca - about 10 mins in car down the coast. Beautiful clean sea, soft sand, beach bar and lots of space.

Ostuni in the evening - magical.

Pizza, calzones and Bacardi Mjitos (or Mojiti?) at Bahia Negra on the front in Casalabate - also good restaurant

A perfect family holiday home

By Puglia 2008 Plymouth on 08-Oct-2008

If someone asked me what was the favourite part of our holiday at Villa Rosa, I would say" everything". Bob and Debbie have thought of everyting to make Villa Rosa a perfect family holiday home. Thank you both for your help and advice. Thank you also to Mino and Val for their wonderful food and for introducing us to the real Italy.

Thank you to Bob and Debbie for a "first class" villa. They deserve to do well as they have thought of everything, even children! They are very nice people, including Val who is also very friendly, and her lovely chef husband whose cooking is to die for! The top chefs in London could learn lots from Mino!

The villa is a perfect base to all the lovel surrounding italian beaches and towns. We can recommend S.Cataldo, fantastic beaches, picturesque and Otranto for fabulous restaurants and classy shops. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Lovely Villa With Pool in Southern Puglia

By on 29-Feb-2008

Villa Rosa is a wonderful property -- modern, airy, and better equipped than 99% of the places my husband and I have rented (all over the world). There's a pretty enclosed front courtyard with flowering bushes, and an expansive rear patio with a dining table, cushioned lounge chairs and nice pool. Inside are two bedrooms, a comfortable sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. High ceilings and lots of windows let in light and air. Debbie and Bob are very welcoming and have though of everything one might need, from a welcome basket of goodies to a well-stocked fridge to restaurant recommendations.

Our only caveat was location. No doubt the small towns in the area are livelier in the summer season. We were there in September and had the feeling of being "in the middle of nowhere." The location is primarily convenient for visiting Lecce (very interesting) and the Salentine Peninsula (not quite so much). You could probably tour the trulli country from Casalabate, but it would be preferable to stay in that area if that is your interest.

Our most pleasant dining experience was at Masseria Pisciani near Torchiarolo, where they serve a massive antipasto that is a meal in itself. The setting, a restored fortified farmhouse surrounded by olive groves, is lovely, it's owned by a nice family, and the food was outstanding and well-priced. Lots of local families were having their Sunday dinner on our first visit. We ate there twice.

In summary, Villa Rosa is a wonderful property, great for visiting Lecce, or for a family or group that wants to relax around the pool and soak up the Italian sun. The owner's friend Val can be hired to cook an excellent Italian meal that makes dining in a pleasure.

Christmas break at villa Rosa

By Pippy Cornwall on 13-Feb-2008

I stayed at Villa Rosa over Chrsitmas 2007 with my two children. The villa is beautiful, with 2 large bedrooms(including the best matresses I had ever slept on), and a fantastic open fire..great for that Christmas feel. It was lovely and clean, and Debbie and Bob had made sure that we had everything we needed to make the holiday perfect.

The location is great for peace and quiet, but close enough to Lecce, which is a buzzing city, definitely worth a visit or two,(Walking distance to the beaches too).

I have been to this area before and stayed elsewhere, but have already been reccomending Villa Rosa to my friends.

Keep up the good work!

How to Relax - Stay at Villa Rosa

By Grethic UK on 13-Feb-2008

We had a wonderful time at Villa Rosa. From the moment of receiving our directions we knew that the whole approach was both carefully thought through and relaxed. Clear instructions and superb e-mail correspondence meant we travelled with confidence. The owners were really welcoming; with a hamper second to none, including handmade goodies and local produce, so no panic over first meals. The facilities are great and travelling by car in the area is easy. For us, alternate days of pool with local browsing and travelling further afield were the perfect combination. There are superb restaurants in the area, read the visitors book when you get there. You will soon sink into the local approach to life, conversation and perambulation. There are some excellent beaches in the area varying from quiet sandy coves to fully serviced beaches with bars; the local guides at Villa Rosa provide all the information you need. We re-booked quite soon after we returned home and are now counting down the weeks.
