Imagine having 200 square metres of light and airy space for your family holiday, with two living rooms, one of which (on the top floor) can be used as an extra bedroom with a proper, luxury bed, its own patio and stunning views of the sea!
Imagine having your own gardens on two levels overlooking the sea and the coastline, with six sun loungers available for your use.
Imagine having the use of an oversized pool in a leafy oasis of calm which does not tend to get crowded and in which you can have a proper swim, rather than just a splash about.
This is what you will find at Maremar.
At Maremar we have the best of all worlds - luxury, space, modernity, comfort, relative peace, enormous pool... but with easy access to the shops and restaurants, the beach and the rest of the Costa Brava, including the three major Salvador Dali buildings - his house, Gala's 'castle' and the Dali Museum itself.
Our beautiful, very spacious, house is set in a discreet development next to beautiful pine woods and directly overlooks the sea.

At 200 square metres of living space, it is one of the largest houses in the development , with living accommodation arranged over three storeys and is of a high quality specification and design. It accommodates up to eight people very comfortably indeed. We limit occupancy to six deliberately as we want to keep Maremar beautiful for guests. No sofa beds in the living room!

You will also be thirty seconds from the enormous shared swimming pool, set in landscaped gardens, with all its delights. We have never known it to be crowded...

The house boasts a very spacious living room with two three-seater sofas, dining area and full width glass doors leading out onto the large terrace and private gardens with their fabulous views along the coast of the Mediterranean and out to sea.
There are dining tables accommodating six people comfortably both inside and out, although you will doubtless want to spend most of your time outside.
The American kitchen is modern and well equipped. It is especially good for convivial gatherings as the cook is not excluded from what is going on in the living room and beyond. We love to cook and have equipped the kitchen accordingly.

We have three double bedrooms...
The master bedroom is very large (the full width of the front of the house), with balconies overlooking the sea, the front gardens and the pine woods, and a luxurious en suite bathroom in travertine and marble.
The second, to the rear of the house, overlooks the landscaped gardens and the woods.
The optional 'rooftop penthouse' double bedroom up on the second floor is virtually as spacious as the master bedroom and has direct access to the rooftop solarium, also looking out to sea. You can choose whether to use this as a bedroom, as another sitting room or, heaven forbid, an office!
Finally, we have a twin bedroom, overlooking the gardens with two single beds.
This means that the accommodation can easily be configured to the needs of six people. So as to maintain the quality of this property, occupancy is strictly limited to six people.
All bedrooms have the deep, luxury mattresses, duvets and linens that we like to use ourselves.

The family bathroom has a bath and shower and there is also a separate downstairs shower room. We believe in 'fluffly' towels and have kitted out the bathrooms accordingly (but please do not use them on the beach!)

As mentioned earlier, on the second floor, there is a private solarium where you can sunbathe in seclusion, looking out to sea from time to time and saying hello to the seagulls as they go by. The solarium is off a large space which can either be configured as the 'penthouse' bedroom or as a large chill out area.

We have equipped the house for our own use. This means that we use high quality fixtures and fittings such as Bosch, Miele, Hansgrohe, Phillipe Starck etc. All rooms have been individually styled with solid oak flooring and high spec tiling etc.

We have two lawned areas, one directly off the terrace and another down some steps, past the ancient olive tree at ground level. So you are spoilt for choice of aspect when it comes to sea and coastal views. At the rear there is a wide gated drive which will take two cars easily. It is flanked by borders containing native flowers, bushes and small trees such as an almond, a fig and a tall cypress (the Catalan symbol of welcome).

The communal pool is about 50 metres from the house and is about 20m long and six to eight metres wide (it is an unusual shape!). It is in lovely landscaped gardens with lawns (for sun bathing after a dip) and conifers.

We have a 'pool box' which contains various pool toys/games which you are welcome to use. If you like to SWIM rather than just splash about in a tiny pool, then this is the place for you! There is also a paddling area to one side of it for tiny tots.

Sant Feliu de Guixols is a mere 5 minute drive away or 15 minute stroll through the woods or along the coast road. In the summer months there is also a tourist 'train' which travels along the coast and up to the house, so you can easily get a lift down to the beach or the shops!
We have had guests who have decided to base themselves completely at the house, sun bathing, swimming and taking the occasional stroll into town, with the most exciting thing they have done being the walk down some pretty precarious steps to the bottom of the cliff and the beautiful cove below.

But if you are more adventurous there are many more things to do and see than you can cram into two or three weeks. You never have to stop!

We have internet TV plus DVD. And our high speed Wifi access means you can stream whatever entertainment you wish to your own devices. And the Bose stereo system plus books and games available have been all that we have needed for a real chill out.

The place is beautiful off season too, bringing other charms to bear such as the wild sea, the complete peace and the chance to use the fireplace in the living room. Sant Feliu's strapline is 'open all year round' and this is absolutely true with, for example, Carnival taking place in February.
In April you can hunt wild asparagus in the woods and late summer is the time for a wild variety of mushrooms.

We love coming to Maremar ourselves. There is really not much more we can say! So if you want a luxury holiday rental in the Costa Brava, look at Maremar!

Wonderful familiy holiday!

By Astrid R on 09-Oct-2017

We have recently returned from a wonderful 8-days-stay at Maremar.
The house gave enough space for our three teenagers to seclude.
We especially liked the tranquility, the beautiful view on the sea, the tasteful and comfortable furnishing and the very good kitchen equipment.
Even in the beginning of November it was possible to swim in the large, beautiful swimming pool – of course, it was a little bit cold...
We enjoyed the walk through the pine forest, which takes about 15 minutes. Sant Feliu is a beautiful city with lovely shops, restaurants and a large market on sundays.
Thanks a lot to Lucy and Peter for many useful excursion recommendations and also for the very nice communication.
We'll surely come back someday!

Highly responsive host, well maintained home, lovely setting, convenient location

By Lisa F on 29-Sep-2017

We were delighted with Peter. Extremely helpful answering questions and arranging transportation. The house delivers on all promises; clean, well appointed, and great location. Our guests enjoyed the third floor bedroom and balcony, unusual to find a house with essentially two master suites.Sant Feliu is a gem. So many delicious restaurants. Don't miss the coastal path - a hidden pleasure. We will definitely consider renting from Peter again, possibly one of his other houses?

Absolutely Fantastic!

By Mark R on 09-Aug-2017

Having just returned from a 2 week stay at Maremar I was seriously tempted not to write a review at all as I don't want anyone else to know about it!!! The villa was lovely. Spacious and comfortable with modern appliances, it was a delightful place to stay. All the rooms have very efficient air conditioning so sleeping on the hot summer nights wasn't a problem at all. The views from the back of the house are fantastic. The 3rd floor sun terrace is totally private and a complete sun trap for most of the day. Well appointed bathrooms, (3 of them), meant we were never stuck for cleaning up at the end of a day at the beach or pool. Always preferred a private pool but this one was was great. Huge and warm and even in the middle of August it never had more than half a dozen other people in it. A lot of the time we had it to ourselves. St Felui itself was lovely. Great beach with some surprisingly good snorkelling. Stay over to the rocks on the right hand side looking out to sea and the water is more clear with lots more fish. Great variety of shops and a handy Spar in the main square with some bigger supermarkets a little further out. Restaurants aplenty ranging from small cafe's to more upmarket ones. We loved the 'Hot Dog' (don't be put off by the name) for tapas and where I had the best octopus Gallega of the holiday. Snack Bar El Carrllet just behind the beach was tremendously convenient and a great place to have a large beer (the waiter wouldn't let me have it until I pronounced it correctly 'jarra' meaning pitcher!!) and something to eat for lunch. Eldorado Mar is the first restaurant you pass coming down the hill into St Felui from the villa and has superb views over the harbour backed up with wonderful food. Good value too if you go for the set price menu although the fillet of beef in salt crust from Girona off the a la carte was well worth it. Finally the owners. If you want a perfect example of how to run a villa rental then look no further than Peter and Lucy. The information they provided prior to and during our stay was exceptional. E-mails were always answered within a couple of hours and we'd been in the villa for 20 minutes before the phone rang and it was Peter checking we were happy with everything. On top of that our daughter turned 11 during our stay and Peter and Lucy had arranged a lovely surprise for her on the day. Would we go back? We're already looking at next year so of course we would!!!

Excellentes vacances!

By Sharon E on 01-Aug-2017

Stunning house with wonderful service

By Patricia S on 24-Jul-2017

We were a family of 8, including a five year old and a 9 month old. We all had a fabulous time staying at the property. The house had everything we needed, and we spent many an evening just enjoying supper on the patio overlooking the Med. The swimming pool for the complex was lovely, clean and quiet and great for all of us.
The listing for the property was accurate regarding location, layout and facilities. Though the listing, if anything, underestimated the great service provided by Lucy and Peter. They ensured - with Carmen's help - that everything was set up for us. Peter and Lucy contacted us in advance of our arrival to check everything we needed. They gave us a lovely welcome pack, including a nice cake, and also provided a travel cot, high chair and a few toys for our 9 month old grandson.
The property was very clean and well maintained. Everything worked well and, if it got too hot outside, the house was always cool - helped by the air conditioning.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the property to other families - and indeed already have done so. We also hope we can all come back again sometime soon.
As a family, we each have different interests. Our daughter and her partner enjoyed frequenting the bars and cafes in town. Our son and daughter in law, with the grandchildren enjoyed the beaches (particularly St Pol) and a day in Barcelona. We had a lovely time visiting Girona (Game of Thrones season 6), and the gardens at Cap de Roeg.
It's a wonderful place for a family of different ages and we hope to return!

Wonderful vacation!

By Anonymous on 15-Jul-2017

We were a family of 4 from Canada (children 12yr & 10yr) and this was a very beautiful place to stay for a week during our vacation to Spain. We felt at home, everything was as described and it was a very large space for the 4 of us. In the days, we explored the beaches, the small towns, Girona and even Barcelona. There are many nice restaurants in town. It was always nice to come back to this villa, to cool off in the pool or just relax on the patio with the most beautiful view imaginable!
We completely recommend this rental and would come back again in a second!
Thank you Lucy & Peter!

If my home could be like this!

By Becky S on 01-Jul-2017

Words cannot adequately describe our experience in this home. This is a second stay for us in one of the property owners' homes, and we hope for a third stay (or more) with them. The property is sparkling clean, maintained in every way, gives me ideas for our own home, and the wording "location, location, location" aptly applies here. The property overlooks the Mediterranean! The owners skillfully provide info on sites, activities, shopping, markets, restaurants, and give pointers on access/timing of activities. We cooked in a few evenings with local produce and also enjoyed area restaurants. We felt that we received a totally relaxing yet plenty of activity vacation. I love to swim in the Mediterranean, and St. Feliu provides a great beach. We especially enjoyed our sailboat 4 hour excursion from St. Feliu and our Segway tour in Girona! The owners absolutely excel at customer service in every aspect. We love, love, love our European experience with the owners. Do not hesitate to go to Maremar.

As wonderful as expected

By E Halpern NY City on 02-Jun-2017

We loved this rental property but we knew we would! When we were planning our trip to northern Spain which included a relaxing week in the Costa Brava we didn’t think to look for anything other than Maremar, in Sant Feliu de Guixols owned by Peter and Lucy Noble. Why? Because two years ago we rented a house called 10pm in Puligny Montrachet (Burgundy, France) that is also owned by them. It was one of three houses that we rented on that vacation. The house was fantastic, really comfortable, high-end finishes and fully stocked and we felt lucky to have found such a great rental, so we knew Maremar would be wonderful too.
There’s no need for me to describe the house because the property has its own website and the pictures are accurate although they don’t do justice to the amazing views and the comfortable, relaxing atmosphere of feeling at home while on vacation! The house lived up to our expectations of high-end finishes, comfortable furniture and fully equipped kitchen set by our 10pm experience.
Sant Feliu is a perfect base for a stay on the Costa Brava. It’s a lovely town with a nice beach, great farmer’s market, good restaurants and is centrally located to the other sights in the area. It’s big enough to have all of the amenities you’d need but small enough so it’s easy to get on the road if you want to tour around. We did a good bit of driving around the Costa Brava and didn’t find another town we would have preferred.
We must add how extraordinarily helpful and generous Peter and Lucy are with their time. About three months before our trip we reached out to them on the off chance that they might know someone in Barcelona who could shed light on the website problem we were having during our practice trials for making a highly sought-after dinner reservation (you need to be on the website at exactly midnight 2 months to the day in advance and they sellout in the first 15 min). I expected a reply with regrets that they couldn’t help or, if lucky, a suggestion for something we could try. They didn’t have any advice but they offered to double our chances of figuring out the process by trying from their end in London while we tried in NY. They stayed up late every night for a week while we all tried to figure out the issue. As it happens a techie friend helped sort out the problem and the reservation was secured. They did more than a good friend might do and, although we are clients, we are perfect strangers and this had nothing to do with the rental!

.What a lovely place ( from the song "Hotel California")

By Alex V on 09-Oct-2016

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Maremar in Oct 2016 for 10 days...and now in Barcelona with literally thousands of people navigating around us, we wish we stay longer.

Maremar is a place for you if you value returning to peace and quiet after a day of travel around beautiful Costa Brava.

We were asking ourselfs in every city/village if we rather stay there, and the answer always was NO. The house itself is everything that you see on the pictures and more.

It has everything you may wish to be extremely comfortable, cook (if you want- we did not) - or just relax, do nothing and watch the sea, get sun tan if weather permits ....for us being from sunny California it did not matter much.

The owners, Peter and Lucy deserve special appreciation. To name just a few: an excellent IMMIDIATE communications at any time. Just as an example, I missed the turn on the way to the Maremar and ended up at the dead end street. Quick text to Peter and he texts right away (from UK!!!) the accurate directions - like he is here with us.

What else I can say...a lot of useful information provided and a standing offer to answer questions......we never had an owners like that.

We are leaving Spain with a lot of lasting memories, and staying at Maremar is one of them.

On a practical side car is highly recommended to get around if you want see museums and other seaside towns.

Klare Empfehlung

By Heinz B on 02-Oct-2016

By Edith H on 19-Sep-2016

Gorgeous house, brilliant views, amazing swimming pool and fantastic hosts

By Sarah B on 08-Sep-2016

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maremar.

The hosts, Peter & Lucy, were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them.

The house is stunning, particularly the view over the sea. It was a very peaceful location, and the amazing swimming pool, only a stone's throw from the house, was rarely busy, even though we were there in August, in fact we often had it to ourselves.

It isn't central to the town, but a 15-20min walk through the woods, or down the road, takes you into the centre. Only word of caution would be that the walk is relatively steep, so best for mobile adults, not so great for young children, or anyone with mobility issues.

Having said that, it was a short drive into the centre, and the parking fees were refreshingly cheap for someone coming from the UK.

Also, the local tourist train, although infrequent, was great fun and really made a great family day out.

Amazing place we really enjoyed it

By David Evans on 31-Jul-2016

It was in really good condition.

The kitchen was great for self catering and the outside space and swimming pool area worked really well for us.

There were lots of shortcuts down to town that we discovered through the week.

Beautiful, spacious and well equipped villa in lovely location and exceptionally helpful owners.

By Gill D on 13-Jun-2016

We have recently returned from a one week holiday at Maremar with our family - 2 daughters, their partners and our 6 month old baby grandson.

The owners, Lucy and Peter, were exceptionally helpful in answering our questions and requests and making sure that our holiday went smoothly and we enjoyed the villa and surrounding area to the full.

When we arrived at the villa we were delighted with the accommodation which was bigger and better equipped and surpassed our expectations.

The villa was equipped with everything from fluffy towels, a complimentary starter pack of food in the fridge, liquid soap available at every sink, a box of pool toys, plenty of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery, pretty bedding, washing up liquid, washing powder etc etc.

For the baby we had a travel cot, sheets, a boster seat and even a little duck for him to play with in the bath!

There is a very scenic view over the sea from the garden and solarium, parking for our 2 hire cars, a quiet location and use of a large pool in attractive garden which we never had to share with any other residents.

We enjoyed the walk through the pine forest down into the town. Saint Feliu has a sandy beach, attractive promenade, good selection of restaurants, cafes and shops and on Sunday you can mixed with the locals at the market.

It is an easy drive into Barcelona if you want to venture further afield. The 'Guests Only' section of Lucy and Peter's website gave us plenty of useful information about area and was supplemented with up to date information, by email, from Lucy and Peter, whilst we were on holiday.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa and location and I am sure you wouldn't find more helpful owners.

Beautiful villa with breathtaking views

By Madeline P on 02-Jun-2016

This was our first experience of renting private accommodation for a holiday and from the moment of our first enquiry Peter and Lucy were amazing. Informative and reassuring and very responsive to my many questions!! Their advice and support ensured our trip went smoothly from providing directions and being on the end of the phone when we got it wrong (!), to sharing their knowledge of the area and sampling of the delights on offer. This was communicated in a very relaxed way and felt very unintrusive.

On our arrival we were greeted warmly by Carmen who was an absolute sweetheart who showed us round. (The goodies in the fridge were gratefully received and much needed after the travel)

The villa itself was beautiful and spotless. Each room was kitted out with high end equipment and facilities. Crisp white bedding on comfy beds, superior bathroom furnishings, lovely art work decorating the walls, fluffy towels....the list is endless.

6 of us in total stayed (1 couple, 2 singles), with 3 bathrooms and 3 floors we were spoilt for privacy.

Our stunning accommodation also had equally stunning views, and each morning we awoke to blue skies, sunshine and looking out onto the sea. The private pool and surrounding gardens, both immaculate and well maintained were just a stones throw away, this was ideal for cooling off and were lucky enough to have it to ourselves each time we went for a dip.

We hired a car as we were going to the Moto GP in catalunya. Not being keen walkers, the car proved to be an essential for us for regular trips into town and the nearby supermarkets. We travelled (carefully!) through the bendy mountain roads to another town called Tossa de Mar where we took a boat trip and enjoyed clear blue waters, enchanting caves and beaches on route.

We were a short drive away from the beach and the centre of Sant Feliu de G, the town remains unspoilt by tourism and we spent many an evening there enjoying the wine and lovely food. The locals are very friendly but you do need at least some basic Spanish.

We had the most pleasurable holiday and would highly recommend a stay at Maremar. We would come back in a heartbeat.
