Villa Redonda set in beautiful landscape. Private and very quiet, the villa is clean and very well maintained and there is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The pool is lovely and there are plenty of chairs and sunbeds. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. A car is a must really but Cala N Porter is close by with plenty of restaurants especially Samoa amd Big Als and a lovely beach. You can't go wrong with Villa Redonda.
Arrival and communication Helpful communication with owner Gary prior to our trip with tips and advice and prompt answers to any questions, and helpful visit from the property management company to check on us on arrival. Cleanliness and facilities The place was spotlessly clean and instructions to get here were clear. The kitchen is well equipped with everything one could need to self cater. There’s a filter coffee machine and a coffee press. They had some of the basics (tea/coffee/salt/pepper) as leftovers from previous visitors. You will need to check on arrival as what is available may vary and a first shop for basics can be arranged through the management company. Living room furnishings are functional though a little dated. We did not use the TV/hi-fi so can’t comment on these. The upstairs main bedroom and en-suite bathroom and sunny balcony are beautiful and modern and there’s a rowing machine. The wifi is very good. The pool The pool was bigger than we expected and very clean. We were attracted by the ‘heated pool’ advertised when searching for properties as we were early in the season and paid a small extra charge for this. Although there was warm water flowing into the pool daily for a few hours, the pool was too cold (for us) to swim in on arrival and a little bit less so on the subsequent days - the water temperature was around 17-20 degrees and unfortunately too cold for our 2 and 6 year olds, who did try to jump in but could not enjoy it. The owner had made it clear that the temperature would not be that warm after we queried about this prior to travel- maybe this could be made clearer in the advert to avoid any confusion. This obviously won’t be an issue if travelling later in the season/summer. Other You need a car to get here/stay here, as the closest amenities are about a 7-10 min drive away. There is parking off road for 1-2 cars. Cales Coves is a beautiful spot with an interesting historical backdrop and the beach/cove at Es Canutells is beautiful and shielded. The Cas Tix supermarket nearby has an excellent selection with lovely fresh bread in the mornings but a little dearer than the bigger ones further afield on the outskirts of Mao. La Rueda in San Luis is a great retro local eatery with great tapas. We also loved Cafetaria Can Bep in Mercadal. Both bustling with locals. Summary We were in Menorca early in the season and found Springtime incredibly beautiful with trees laden with ripe lemons and oranges and carpets of wildflowers and birdsong in the mornings and evenings. Overall this is a lovely, very well appointed and quiet place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. It is well equipped and the owner is very helpful. The pool is a good size, and the pool side is nice with great views over the south of the island to the sea. If visiting in cooler months, do not expect the pool to be warm even if heated- of course you may be more cold tolerant than we are!! Other than this our stay was great and we would recommend the place without hesitation.
Had a lovely time at Villa Redonda which is in a quiet area with nice views. Good aircon and a nice pool. Kitchen is well equipped for all you need. Easy access to all areas of the island and a short walk to the Cami. Owners very responsive to questions and do all they can to make your holiday one to remember.
