Quinta da Boavista is a charming and beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and quaint 3 bedroom house nestled into an inspiring hillside setting, with incredible views.

This well-hidden gem accommodates a family comfortably and is ideal for a longer let anytime of the year to experience the changing seasons in all the glory of the villas namesake ‘Boavista’ – Good Views.

Take your pick of which beautiful terrace to absorb the views and silence from, under wisteria and bougainvillea bedecked pergolas or in plentiful sunny areas with natural shady niches set within the mature gardens. The rich scope of wild flowers in springtime draws one along the winding paths surrounding this astoundingly natural beauty spot.

All modern conveniences are at your disposal to ensure a comfortable stay in ‘a home away from home’ - a fully-decked plunge pool offers the refreshment required for sunny days, which are guaranteed to be enjoyed!

What is the outside area like?
The original designers of Quinta da Boavista embedded their handmade ceramic designs into the architecture inside as well as outside the house, drawing ones attention into the numerous details of lovely and humorous surprises.
Bird watchers and enthusiasts of flora and fauna will appreciate the many winding walking tracks that lead into the heart of this hilly terrain with its valleys watered by seasonal streams, and up into the hilly contours with far reaching panoramic views over the hinterland and the shimmering azure coastal line.

What is the interior like?
The interior offers a harmonious balance between comfort and culture – one can enjoy the good taste and generosity of these well-travelled owners and feel instantly at home in the domain they have lovingly created.
There are 5 entrances leading into the two-towered interior of Quinta da Boavista, one is never far from the heart of the house, being the kitchen-dining area and the living room with its large hearth. One of the towers comprises a spacious master bedroom and ensuite bathroom, with a twin bedroom/study and ensuite bathroom below and set off from the living room. The other tower accommodates a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom, accessed from the kitchen and with its own private terrace overlooking the garden.

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?
Quality sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and there are shades stretched conveniently over the terrace spaces and beside the pool. Plenty of combinations of tables and chairs surround the houses’ many terraces.

What are the dimensions of the pool? What type of pool cleaning?
The pool is above the surface and has decking surrounding it and measure 7m x 4m with a ladder leading into a depth of 120 cm. This is a freshwater pool with a Chlorine cleaning system. The pool is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional. Pool and garden lighting is available.

Is the accommodation suitable for children?
We would ask parents to be cautious with younger less mobile children on the split levels and uneven ground surrounding the house – for older children; let the adventure begin!

What facilities are there for babies and children?
There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements. Beloved grandchildren have kindly left some of their toys and books for other children to enjoy!

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?
The terrain is far from flat surrounding the house and there are many split levels and steps within and outside the house, as well as huge boulders embedded in the ground that might not be easy to navigate for somebody with walking difficulties.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?
Peep your head around the contour of the neighbouring hill and you will see the nearest house, some 150 metres away, as the crow flies. Beyond the valley and nestled subtly into the opposite hillside are a couple of other houses within sight.

What type of access it there to the property?
As far as country roads go in this area, the access to Quinta da Boavista is not at all bad, made mostly of tightly packed gravel and clay soil, however, the last part of the track reaching the house is somewhat uneven and bumpy, but nothing that a slow driver could not handle or a 4 wheel drive would not thrive on!

How quiet is the area around the property?
If ‘remote quietness’ is what you are looking for, Quinta da Boavista will please you well, however, you could still reach one of the splendid beaches or historical towns of this area within a comfortable 20 minute car drive.

How far are the shops and restaurants?
Located practically within equidistance of Tavira and São Brás, one has the choice of two medium sized towns with a good choice of cuisine and supermarkets within 15 to 20 minutes drive away. Nearer afield is Santa Catarina, a small rural town which feels more like a village yet boasts some splendid and traditional ‘hunters’ restaurants in its vicinity. If you have forgotten to buy bread on your last shopping outing, Santa Catarinas café-bakery and local mini supermarket will provide what you are missing in just a 5 to 10 minutes drive.

How far are the beaches?
Family beach favourites nearby include Tavira Island, Barril beach and Terra Estrieta, all requiring a small ferry boat or footpath or mini open air train ride crossing the estuary and marsh lands that make up part of the Ria Formosa nature park. Fuzeta beach is also reached within about 20 minutes drive away and offers a clean white sandy beach on the mainland so one can nip there for a swim without having to cross the estuary by ferry boat.

How far are the golf courses?
There are excellent golf courses within 20 to 40 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Is smoking permitted?
Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?
This can be decided upon the owners discretion, please enquire.

Which is the changeover day and time?
Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?
Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?
There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late arrivals.

Is a car recommended for this property?
Yes, car transportation is essential for this location unless you intend on pumping up your biceps!

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?
Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from a team of property managers, who can be contacted at anytime.
