Description
Villa Azzurra is a fully renovated property. Sleeps up to 10 persons. It is 250 sq. meters in size and has a very airy spacious feel. The independent villa is set in a lovely walled garden on an acre of land. It is approached through electric gates with audio screening inside the villa. It is situated about 3kms from the delightful medieval town of Oria and very close to the Sanctuary of San Cosimo, both can be seen clearly from the villa. Al fresco living is really the Pugliese way of life especially in the summer months. The villa has a large covered verandah to the front with plenty of seating and dining facilities. There is a further terrace a couple of steps down from the pool terrace adjacent to one of the olive groves. On this terrace there is a very large wooden gazebo 7mtrs x 5mtrs. This provides shelter for numerous very comfortable lounging areas, another dining area and an outdoor kitchen. There is a wood burning pizza oven and an open barbecue along with a marble surfaced preparation area and sink. All this area is well lit for cooking and eating under the stars. The very large saline pool is 13x5 meters and entered from the Roman steps, which are also great for sitting/lying on. The depth is 1mtr 40cms throughout, perfect for a decent swim and teaching your children to swim. There are 4 luxury white resin rattan sun beds and 4 grey with extra -soft cushions; these are dotted around the paved patio surrounding the pool. There are also a few turquoise sun beds, which can be taken to the beach or used as extras for guests. The pool and surrounding area can be lit for evening swimming. Close to the pool there is an outdoor shower, which can also be used when returning from the beach as well as a full 4th bathroom in the outhouse. At night the pool area provides a fabulous spot to enjoy a Prosecco or local Primitivo - pre or post dinner -whilst watching the spectacular sunsets!
The property is in a charming location in the countryside 3 kilometres S.W. of Oria. We recognised the potential of the property as a holiday home close to the city and with good access to motorway routes to other centres and seaside areas.
The airport at Brindisi is less than half an hour away whilst the airport at Bari is one hour and a half's drive to the property.
The food and wine are excellent and are cheaper than many other areas in Italy.
We love this area because of the wonderful Medieval and historic towns, fabulous beaches and nowhere is too far away to visit. The Villa has been transformed from a basic shell to what we now feel is a beautiful property that has exceeded our wildest dreams.
Staying at Villa Azzurra will provide an experience that will give you a true taste of the "Dolce Vita".
The villa is in its own grounds of one acre containing 100 olive trees and other trees and plants.
It is in a quiet and peaceful location so that everyone staying there can relax and chill out by the pool enjoying the lovely climate. The outdoor kitchen and dining areas provide further options to enhance your holiday and this includes a full sized pizza oven and built in barbecue next to a huge wooden gazebo.
The drive into Oria takes about five minutes. The villa is equipped to a high standard with all new facilities to enjoy. It also has a very large lounge dinner plus a second large lounge downstairs allowing guests to have their own space when required. This makes it and ideal property for a number of families and or guests of varying ages.
There are many things to do on our doorstep, including visiting ancient towns and cities both inland and at the seaside.
There is safe off road parking for up to 4 cars inside the grounds of the villa.
The local Primitivo red wine is manufactured just 7 kilometres from our villa and local white wines are grown and readily available at very cheap prices!
The property provides a very tranquil and restful experience for its guests.
We have enjoyed many fabulous sunsets from the terraces and verandah at night.

Bedroom 1: 1 King size bed with ensuite and french windows to external balcony with table and chairs views over garden, open countryside and san Cosimo. Four floor to ceiling sliding wardrobes with loads of storage space. Two bedside cabinets 1 tall medium chest of drawers and 1 large.
Bedroom 2: downstairs 2 large twin beds with en-suite. Four floor to ceiling sliding wardrobes with loads of storage space. Two bedside cabinets 1 extra long chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3: 2 large twin beds. 1 floor to ceiling sliding double wardrobe. 2 bedside cabinets. 1 tall chest of drawers in shared area. Situated next to house bathroom. Good views of Sanctuary San Cosimo.
Bedroom 4: 1 small double bed 1 tall double mirrored wardrobe, 2 bedside cabinets and 1 tall chest of drawers in shared area. This bedroom has fantastic views to the beautiful city of Oria. The bedroom is situated next to the house bathroom.

This designer bathroom features an extremely large walk in shower. The shower unit can be adjusted to suit your height. It has waterfall and rain shower features. There is a bidet, toilet and bespoke washbasin and floating unit.
Bathroom 2 is en-suite and features walk in shower with large fixed rain shower head with a removable hand held attachment. It also has a toilet bidet and bespoke washbasin unit.
Bathroom 3 is en-suite and features walk in shower with large fixed shower head and a removable hand held attachment. It also has a toilet bidet and wash basin.
4. Full bathroom situated in an outer building. It has a walk in shower, toilet and hand wash basin.
All 4 bathrooms feature top quality Italian tiles in the local Lecce stone colour. They are also equipped with large bathroom LED lit mirrors.
A further outside shower is provided for you convenience.
Contemporary kitchen has tall wood effect units and high gloss white units with white granite worktops. It is fully equipped with a built in, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, fan oven and microwave. 5 ring gas hob, extractor fan, espresso cappuccino coffee maker, kettle and toaster.
There is a separate large under counter fridge in the utility area plus a washing machine.
There are place settings for 12 people in both crockery, cutlery and many glasses. There are roasting tins, cast iron casseroles, pyrex dishes, saucepans, frying pans. Huge range of knives +all types of utensils.
De' Longhi 15 bar espresso and cappuccino coffee maker. Two electric kettles.
There are many plastic receptacles for outdoors around the pool and a draw full of barbeque tools.
1 Welcome pack per party of guests. 6x2ltr btls water, butter, loaf of bread, a pack of filter coffee, tea bags, salt, pepper, jam, biscuits, 1 btl red 1 btl white wine per 4 adults.
The dining area covers a large area in the very big upstairs lounge dining room. It can sit 10 people in comfort.
Separate dining area on verandah for 4. Seating 12 more on large table under gazebo.

There are air conditioning units in all bedrooms and both lounges that can be used independently.
Central heating is available.
Linen and bedcovers are provided for each of the 4 bedrooms. If guests exceed 8 and bed settees are used a charge will be made for the laundry on each bed. Pillows duvets blankets are also provided.
Bathing, hand + pool and beach towels are included for the number of clients staying. There is a one off laundry charge of £100 for additional guests over 8.
The prices shown include cleaning of house before and after rental.
There is a washing machine in the utility area. Calgon tablets are provided for each wash. Guests must provide their own washing powder/conditioner.
There are 2 clothes driers provided and an outside rotary washing line.
There are parking spaces for up to a max of 4 cars on the drive inside the private walled grounds to one side of the house.

Roman steps lead into 13mtr x 5mtr pool with uniform depth of 1mtr 40cms.
The pool has a pool robot that cleans it and is checked and maintained by our local representative. A net is provided for guest or representative use.
There are 4 white aluminium framed poly rattan sun beds and 4 grey with cushions. 7 portable.
There is a built in stone and marble barbecue incorporated into a full outdoor kitchen with sink area and full sized Pizza oven, prep area marble topped and electrically lit.
There are several terraces on different levels with plenty of shaded areas or sunny areas if you prefer. Most surround the pool area 1 sits at the side of the villa. All are tastefully tiled.
At the front of the house there is a covered verandah of 12square metres. There is a dining table and chairs here and further seating.
There is 1 balcony accessible through french windows via the master bedroom with table and chairs and views of the side garden, open countryside and the Sanctuary of San Cosimo.
The garden provides a splash of colour and plenty of herbs for cooking. The olive grove has a 100 olive trees and numerous palms and cacti.
