The house was built in the 1930s as a manor house for the Mayor and has now been renovated to showcase the beautiful stonework, railway sleeper steps and huge nook fireplace. Easily accessible from Lisbon airport (no need to drive through Lisbon) as we are 45 mins north.

The villa really is a destination in itself, no need to leave.
If you want to visit nearby attractions, there is a huge sculpture park, Buddha Eden Bacalhoa 3kms away, cheap at €5 in, but a big day out. Huge sleeping buddha statues with feet twice as tall as a man, a blue painted replica of the famous Chinese terracotta army, several lakes, a train line for the less mobile and modern sculptures, including many from UK artists. There is an old vineyard attached to the park, and a wineshop with tastings.
Europe's largest racing track is 10 mins away.
Countless Quintas, and vineyards and wine producers many offer wine tasting, tours and lunches.
The house is in the centre of a cobbled street village with colourfully painted houses and pretty places to sit and enjoy the tranquility. There are tavernas, bread shop, mini-supermarket, football pitch, a post office with ATM - all within a few minutes walk. The village has a local wine shop with award-winning wines all under 5 Euros a bottle. Large supermarkets are a 5 mins drive.
You are 30 mins drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast of Portugal.
There is the walled medieval town of Obidos, just 10 mins drive from the Villa. Obidos hosts medieval jousting, and a chocolate festival, in fact there seems to be some sort of festival or fiesta, happening every week in this area. Just 15 mins drive is the largest go-karting track in Europe.
Of course, proximity to Lisbon means you can make a day trip and enjoy the winding streets of the old town, go to the brilliant aquarium, or go to the palaces of Sintra.
The original name of the property, lost in time was Palacete. As the house is situated on the corner of Rua Vasco da Gama, we named the house, Palacete Vasco da Gama.

For sure an experience to repeat!
By Pedro on 08-Sep-2019
There are places that you feel like you rent a house and places that things go so well that you feel like home. Laura and Patrick’s house is one of those places! I was a weekend with some colleagues and since the moment we arrived, we had all the information needed and we felt like the house was ours. Everything went amazing and even tinny details like a broken light was right away fixed. For sure an experience to repeat! Thank you so much Laura and Patrick!

Laura and Patrick are attentive, attentive, attentive
By Samira Mohamed on 17-Aug-2019
Laura and Patrick are attentive, attentive, attentive and attentive hosts. The house is very well thought out, arranged, decorated, clean and clear. Very well positioned (small quiet village, shops nearby, Lisbon at 1/2 hour, Nazaré at 1/2 hour, Obidos and his castle at 15 minutes ... etc ... a lot of things to do in the area) I really recommend, do not change anything ... the quality of your home is first class. It was the best place we ever stayed !
By Nicole And Christof on 10-Aug-2019
We were with our 3 children for a week in the villa. It was the best place we ever stayed !!
It is huge, well decorated, very clean and there is everything you need! We were warmly welcomed by Laura's father.
There was a great welcome basket of local produce (wine, milk, cocoa, jams, pickled sardines).
If you had questions, you could easily contact Patrick at any time via the house tablet or WhatsApp. Our children liked the pool the best! There are air mattresses and pool toys.
The water is clean and had a comfortable temperature. The house is located in a small place.
You can make many excursions from Vermelha, z. To Óbidos, Fátima, Batalha, Lisbon ...
We recommend the house unrestricted and come back even happy! Thank you so much!
