My perfect villa holiday home

By Tickiruley on 08-Apr-2019

We have stayed in my villa's over the years but I have to say this is one of the best. The property was very clean and well maintained and the owners couldn't not have been more helpful,in fact they could not do enough for us. The fish they bought for our BBQ was amazing and we spent most evenings outdoors under that huge olive tree in the BBQ area.
We went to the lovely St Nickolas for lunch a few times which was great and the drives through the mountains to see the ship wreck was amazing as the views were great been so high up.
The turtle beach to the south was another highlight.
Most of all it was the peace and quite at the villa that made it for us.
We will definitely be going back.Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

A truly amazing holiday experience

By Amanda And Bridget on 08-Apr-2019

We have just returned from the most wonderful holiday, Ann and Antonis the best hosts you could ever ask for. From the moment we booked to the farewell at the airport, we couldn`t have asked for anything more. The photos didn`t do it justice as the villa was beyond our expectations. Being two families (children between 4 - 12) the fridge`s were well stocked, accommodation was well laid out, clean and well maintained. Looking for "an away from it all holiday" with peace and quite we certainly found it at Villa Sigalia. The pool kept everyone constantly entertained with enough seating areas, sunbeds and hammocks for every part of the day. Great local days out included speedboat trip to the shipwreck and blue caves - tip go very early to avoid the crowds, turtle beach and the stunning sunset at Kampion. Plenty of tavernas and beaches within driving distance to choose from, Port Nikolaos' taverna on the beach is an amazing setting with Greek night on a Friday. Wow what a holiday, can`t wait to go back - soon..!!!Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

Absolutely Fantastic!

By Tina on 08-Apr-2019

We stayed at this villa in September 2010 and I have to say that Ann and Adonis were the most friendly, caring and hospitapal hosts we have ever had the pleasure to meet. From the moment they met us at the airport until our departure 14 days later, they showed such kindness and generosity. We were supplied with local wine from Adoni's family which was magnificant, due to the fact you did not suffer with a handover!!!. Ann kindly cooked us a traditional greek breakfast one morning, which was superb and even brought us bread and desserts from the local bakers. Adonis took one of our party out on his bike , which is his pride and joy which was fantastic. He took him sightseeing across the island and even treated him to a wonderful lunch in a local greek taverna. It is apparent that this villa is Ann and Adonis little joy. Ann takes such care and pride in keeping it clean and well cared for, for her guest. The highlight of our stay, although there were many, was when Ann and Adonis took us to Kampni for dinner. The journey, the views were stunning and the restaurant and location are spectacular. We had a wonderful night. We would highly recommend this villa for the stunning and peaceful location and hospitality of the hosts. Recommended for: Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.

A relaxing family holiday

By Marc on 08-Apr-2019

We stayed with 4 adults and 4 children (including a baby) in June 2011 and had a wonderfull time.

The villa
The villa and the attached cottage are as described and very clean.
The garden is beautiful. Various places to sit down, to eat, to relax and to enjoy your stay. The swimmingpool is very clean (cleaned daily) and well maintained.

The hosts
We’ve never had such warm and helpfull hosts as Ann and Adonis. Maybe even more beautiful than the house and garden is the hospitality of these two lovely people. They are helpfully; provided us with local foods and wine and information. You can see that they are proud of their property. And they should be! Their hospitality is a big bonus on your stay.

The island
Because of the location a (hired) car is a must. But it’s also the best way to discover this beautiful island.

Overall: a wonderful place to stay. For people who like peace and quietness, away from the crowd / mass-tourism. The best way to discover (the real) Zakynthos and experience the hospitality of the people from Zakynthos.

Recommended! - Empfohlen! – Aanbevolen!

Marc and family.

The Heart of Zakyntos

By Mada P on 08-Apr-2019

We are two families: 4 adults and 4 children (from 12 to 15 years old) and we had a dream about an authentic Greek place to spend our holiday. We wanted a relaxing garden to talk till late in front of a glass of wine, but in the same time chids jumping into pool and having fun.
Ann and Antonis villa was the perfect pick for us. It has everything we were looking for plus a sectret prize that one can find only in places that have a heart. It was a great occasion to discover the hidden beauty of Zakyntos and the joy of peaceful Greek meditation bring to light with British energy and rectitude.
All property is kept in clean and perfect shape in the middle of olive-trees plantation. We start from this point and discovered the hole island, including Blue Cave, Shipwreck, Turtle beach , s.o., s.o. Could not miss a bath in blue waters near Shipwreck, neither in sulphouros waters of Xigia. We will not forget about the sunset at Michelis. We enjoyed the fish dinner at Dimitri (with fresh fishes he caught) and the gyros at Savas in Volimes. Don't miss the monastery with only one monk and the bells placed in a olive-tree.
Our holiday was perfect with the care and indications of ours hosts. I have the feeling that I revealed some secrets of this special home but this is the place we all will return with joy and pleasure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

Amazing Villa in amazing island

By Nava.L on 08-Apr-2019

We stayed at the Villa on the last week of July, 2011.
We have not enough words to describe those wonderfully 7 days we stayed there.
The place is perfect. Nice, clean, cozy, have all the facilities needed to everybody, a lot of space, beautiful spots all around the property.
We were 2 families with 4 children, and had the feeling of a holiday in paradise !!!
Quiet, peaceful, private. Just PERFECT.
Ann and Antonis were amazing hosts. Gave us all we need and much more while keeping our privacy. They met us at the port and led us to the Villa, showed us around, filled the fridge with all the goods needed for the first few days [including excellent beers and wine] and showed generosity throughout our stay.
I agree 100% that the photos at the site shows very little comparing the reality.

Thanks Ann and Antonis !! we are going to be back, for sure !!!!!

A perfect retreat

By James.M. on 08-Apr-2019

We have spent two glorious weeks at the villa, and came home greatly relaxed. The villa nestles in a superb setting, being both private but with great views. The garden is well laid out with a pool set among the olive grove surrounded by paths and bushes. There are plenty of eating and sitting areas to suit the most hardened outdoor eaters and plenty of shaded and sunny spots to lounge in the good weather. The rocking lounger was popular with my wife while I preferred the hanging wicker chair.
Inside the accommodation was divided into two separate areas: ideal for us as we were two families visiting. The kitchen was well equipped although we tended to use the barbecue area for most of our cooking. Air conditioning was available in all bedrooms and the main living area which proved welcome as we had clear skies all the time.
The local tavernas were plentiful and reasonably priced though not near enough to walk to. Last but not least the owners were delightful, attentive and helpful and I want to thank you Ann and Adonis for letting us share in your wonderful home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers.

What more can you ask for

By David.B on 08-Apr-2019

An outstanding villa holiday.

I've been to Zakynthos on many occasions this villa was by far we have stayed at.

We were met at the airport and guided to the villa by Ann and Atonis and from the moment the villa gates opened we realised what a great villa holiday it would be.

From the grounds to the pool and the villa itself everything was perfect. Ann supplied an excellent welcome pack which kept us going over several days which takes the edge off having to immediately going shopping.

When the weather was too hot, it was great for my youngest to sit inside and watch TV while the rest of us could stay outside.

The pool area and the several eating areas were perfect for relaxing and evening meals with the pool itself being the best we have had.

Ann and Atonis have a beautiful home and have achieved what most of us would consider to be perfection.

Thank you very much.

David

geweldige vakantie villa

By Elizabeth on 08-Apr-2019

Perfect holiday villa for two families

By Liz.P on 08-Apr-2019

Helpful votes: 1/0
Villa Sigalia exceeded our expectations, especially it's wonderful rambling garden set within an ancient olive grove, including a beautiful outdoor dining area which we used pretty much every night, serenaded by cicadas! The kids (aged 3-10) would have been happy to spend all their time at the villa, running along the little paths, jumping in and out of the pool... It was an idea layout for two families (nine of us in total), with five in the main house and four in the annex. Ann and her husband Antonis are perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were full of helpful, practical advice about things to see and do on the island. When we left a bag of clothes in a local restaurant on our last night, Ann even went to get the bag and posted it on to us, which we're incredibly grateful for.

Beautiful and Peaceful

By Sarah.W on 08-Apr-2019

We had a wonderful two week stay at Ann and Antonis' place in the north of Zakynthos. The villa was comfortable and spacious and fit us all in perfectly (we are a family of 5). Our teenage daughter loved having the little flat attached to the rest of the property. Outside it is very peaceful and there are plenty of spaces to relax in the sun and shade. We spent a lot of our time at the villa as it was so quiet and calm there. Ann and Antonis could not have been more helpful - Ann shopped for us and Antonis helped us with our luggage as the car we had hired was so tiny. Any little problems we had, they helped us to sort it out straight away. They also recommended good local places for us to eat at. I absolutely would recommend anyone staying here. The north of the island is very beautiful and quiet and even in peak season it wasn't crowded with tourists.

Relax and get away from it all

By Sean.S on 08-Apr-2019

The photos do not do this property justice, it is absolutely beautiful with many secluded shady spots to sit and read whilst also having an abundance of sunny areas if you want to worship the sun god. The owners Ann and Antonios have spent many years gradually landscaping various spaces outside that are so natural and comfortable, with vistas to different spaces within the large and very private and quiet gardens. The pool was amazing and cleaned every day. We also enjoyed the use of the table tennis table. Inside the property is well laid out with a large master bedroom and balconies with views to the sea. We cannot reccomend this villa highly enough and have stayed in many villas in Greece and other European countries...this was by far the best and is not a rental property as you would expect....it is a home and feels like it, whilst allowing us to feel like it was our home for the two weeks we stayed there. The north of Zakynthos is where you want to be, unless you want to party every night!!- then go to the south. Locally, all the taverna owners are very welcoming and it does not feel over run by tourists. We loved our stay and will return one day. Book this villa right away.

Perfect villa - absolutely 5 stars

By Nigel J on 21-Jul-2018

This is a lovely villa in a quiet spot with great restaurants/beaches and friendly mini-market a short drive away. Villa is very homely, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Great pool/air-con and nice seating areas. Definitely head to this part of island if you want more peaceful/rustic stay. Ann was a perfect host - couldn’t have been more helpful. Hopefully we’ll be back. Thanks Ann xx
