Description

If you’re looking for a house for a large group or a celebration then our Georgian Gate House located on the edge of the Deans Court estate, Dorset is perfect. Well-located only 2 hours from London, just 30 minutes from Dorset's Jurassic Coast and a 5 minute walk into the centre of the bustling market town of Wimborne. The house comfortably sleeps 16 and features a kitchen with Aga and two electric ovens and a breakfast room; a self-contained attic suite with bed, sitting area and en-suite with roll top bath, and dining room with table that seats 16.
There is also a large, private garden suitable for outdoor games and an Entertainment Room with a 75" TV and Netflix, Apple Movies (£20 complementary usage) and an Xbox - with underfloor heating and over-sized beanbags.
Next to the house is the Deans Court vintage home-store and café, serving organic, healthy food made from fresh produce grown on the Deans Court estate. Veg baskets which include organic estate produce are available to pre order.

Nearby are excellent cycling and walking routes along the river Stour, old railway lines, and National Trust bridleways.
Course and fly fishing days are available on estate rivers Stour & Allen.
The house also has a ground floor, en-suite twin bedroom suitable for limited mobility guests.

Everything I’d hoped for

What a special place The Gate House is. It was everything I’d hoped for in location, accommodation and facilities to bring all the family together. There was space for everyone to spread out; the media room and hot tub were the icing on the cake!

Won’t find anywhere better

Our fifth time staying in this wonderful house and once again a most enjoyable experience. Careful thought has been given to every aspect ... Also, the high standards are maintained from year to year with improvements to be seen each time we return. Anyone who is looking for a house to accommodate a large group won’t find anywhere better than the Gatehouse. Plenty of very convenient parking and close proximity to all that Wimborne has to offer makes for a trouble free stay. And ..the delightful Jonathan is easy to contact and endlessly helpful. Already looking forward to next year’s stay.

Accommodation was perfect

We stayed at the Gate House and the Apple and Plum Cottages for our wedding in September 2023 and all of the accommodation was perfect. We had a lot of family and friends travelling from further afield and needed somewhere comfortable for them to stay, which all of the Deans Court accommodation provided and more. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and well maintained, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hot tub and BBQ in the gatehouse garden were fantastic bonuses.... A huge thank you to the Deans Court Team for everything :)
