Probably the best holiday cottage!

If you are heading to this part of the world, the Llyn peninsula, and are looking for somewhere to stay I could not recommend any place more highly than Glan Soch. Firstly for its location, it is set well into the Llyn Peninsula allowing easy access to all the interesting places you may want to visit. Within walking distance of Hell's Mouth, a surfing beach and no more than 25 minutes journey to places of interest from history; Bardsey Island to Plas yn Rhiw, a National Trust delightful manor house with ornamental gardens and wonderful views, and the stunning beaches of Llanbedroeg. Glan Soch is a beautifully restored farmhouse, combining modern convenience with rustic charm. It has two well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms of equally high standard. The whole house is full of light, the kitchen is enormous and perfectly well equipped with everything you could want or need. There is a dining area beyond which is a terrace overlooking open farmland with the comforting call of the neighbouring sheep. This possibly is the cleanest and best appointed place I have ever stayed, in a peaceful and private location. Whatever you have been doing during the day, you will be happy to return to Glan Soch and your very friendly hosts. Emma and Elwyn will make every effort to help and inform you of the things you may like to do and places you may like to visit without being intrusive in any way. This is a great place that you can make your own. I would always be happy to return and I really miss those sheep at breakfast time! The bonus is - dogs are welcome! Alan, Julie and Lola
The perfect beach get away in a stunning part of the world

We stayed here for a week in October during half term. The cottage is faultless, immaculately clean, lovely and spacious and very peaceful. The cottage provides everything you could possibly need for a week away. Emma and Elwyn were so welcoming to such a beautiful cottage in such a beautiful, unspoilt part of the world. The log burner was brilliant making the cottage even more cosy! We went out everyday as the cottage location is tip top, 2 minutes drive to Hells Mouth, a spectacular stretch of beach which was very quiet at that time of year. We also visited Nefyn, Aberdaron, Llanbedrog and we went into Abersoch on a few occasions. We couldn't recommend this cottage enough, it is above and beyond a perfect, beach cottage and we can't wait to visit again soon.
A great find

Everything about this cottage is right: location, amenities and welcome. Everything has been generously provided to make it easy and welcoming. The Llyn peninsula is unspoiled, with a great coast-line, lovely views by day and sparkling stars by night.

Pulling on the driveway you are welcomed by Emma and that set the tone for a wonderful two weeks. The cottage is immaculately presented and gives you all you need. We were a family of four with a dog, bikes etc. The large utility room a a great space to dry things and keep the main house free of the usual holiday clutter we always seem to have. Other reviews cover the cottage well and actually we felt it is bigger that it appears in the photos. The location was perfect for us, only a 10 minute drive to Abersoch but wonderfully in the middle of no where. Quiet lanes all around so we could walk/cycle without real traffic concerns- there are cars just not many! Surrounded by fields with a private patio and large drive/ front lawn ensure the children and dog had space to run free as required. Special mention must also go the neighbouring family, the barn owls. Watching them come out to feed as the light faded each evening never became less magical. Hells mouth beach great for waves and we found the south end of Abersoch beach, by Mickey's Boatyard, the best spot for something more sheltered. The former 5 minutes in the car and the later just over 10 minutes. Finally a special word for the hosts. They get the balance spot on between being there if needed for advice on anything locally, and they knew about everything, but equally you could go a whole holiday without knowing they were there. First time at Glam Soch but hope it will not be the last - if nothing else my daughter has promised Emma and Elwyn she will bake them another cake!
Superb cottage with amazing views.

This is the perfect place to say if you're looking for a quiet location with amazing views. Abersoch itself is a pretty seaside village with great places to eat and shop. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. It was by far the best holidayrental we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean and fabulous throughout. The owners were wonderful and offered lots of information, which was really helpful as we had not visited the area before. We cannot recommend this highly enough. A fabulous find!
Is there a better place to stay?

This was our second stay at this lovely cottage. It is a peaceful base for exploring the lovely Llyn Peninsula. It is a super cycling area as there are lots of quiet roads, most with excellent sea views. Golf at Nevyn is close by and there is a lovely beach at Hell's Mouth which is only about 20 mins walk from Glan Soch. There is also a shop that is a 10 minute cycle ride away, or a half hour walk, in the neighbouring village of Llangian
A super place to relax or go walking or surfing if that is your thing
By Broadstonegm Bolton, United Kingdom on 08-Jul-2017
Superb accommodation a real home from home, the hosts live next door but you wouldn't know it unless you wanted something, with the beach a 30 min walk or 5 min drive, and almost zero traffic on the way, a self contained folder full of local information and maps and almost a library of pamphlets , (I assume put together by Emma while the other half is in the barn/man-shed :-)) and the resident barn owl on the hunt, giving almost daily appearances a revisit is a certainty.
Beautifully appointed and maintained cottage in an ideal location
By Jeff H Bath, United Kingdom on 03-Jul-2017
Emma runs a superbly furnished cottage and lives next door. She is incredibly welcoming and helpful and the property has an in depth resource of local information and maps all of which Emma runs through as well. The facilities are excellent, Hell's Mouth beach just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away and a great pub, The Sun Inn, at Llanengan also very close. So much to do locally, the walking is quite spectacular and the scenery breathtaking. We would definitely return to the area and recommend Emma's property to anyone wanting a exceptionally comfortable base for exploring this beautiful place.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world

This was our second time visiting Glan Soch and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The cottage is lovely, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable. Emma and Elwyn are very friendly and couldn't be more welcoming. The cottage is very close to Hells Mouth beach, and even during this week's fabulous weather the beach was very quiet. The cottage is also very close to Abersoch by car but far away enough to be in the peace and quiet. There are lots of walks nearby also. We have recommended the cottage to family and friends and are looking forward to booking our next visit.
An excellent property fulfilling every promise made in details.

Friendly welcome. Very well equipped. Comfortable bed. Country views. Would recommend it to anybody - friends and relatives. But the weather let us down. House guide could not be more detailed.
stunning setting and beautiful house
By Emmac1980 Stafford on 26-May-2017
this is a beautiful cottage, set in the most scenic area with views out over county side in every direction. The closest beach is a matter of minutes away by car although there are plenty of lovely walks directly from the cottage both to local villages and out in the fields. The Llyn Peninsula offers a wealth of days out of every type and you will be amazed how close everything is, we stayed for a week and went out every day and the furthest we drove was about half an hour.
Wonderful relaxing stay here

We couldn't have asked for more such a pretty cottage with everything you could possibly need. Beach nearby and a good place for a walking holiday. The owners Emma and Elwyn are so friendly and helpful giving us ideas for places to visit nothing was too much trouble. They also helped out with our Welsh pronunciation

In June 17 will p be our 3rd year going to this cottage. I couldn't recommend it more, great facilities, owners are so helpful, and the local walks are amazing. Only down side I can think of......... No, there aren't any!
High standard, helpful owners and dog friendly in a brilliant location
By Peter on 20-May-2017
Went at the end of the season and really enjoyed the quiet location and the surrounding area. Fabulous walks all around with lots of helpful maps and info available in the cottage and from the owners next door. Had Hell's Mouth beach to ourselves. Just the place to get away from it all. Wi-fi slow or non-existent which helped as well. The spec in the cottage was high with lots of nice touches to make it cosy and welcoming. You can't beat a good log burner.

Booked this cottage last year on behalf of my friends who were coming to visit me. We all loved the cottage, everything was spotless. The décor was gorgeous and all the little touches made it really special. Lovely peaceful location, and not too far from Abersoch. My friends have already booked the cottage again this year.
