A lovely listed former mill cottage dating back to the 1700s. Charmingly extended and beautifully renovated it provides lots accommodation in the market town of Bakewell. It has one large living room and lots of small cosy rooms. 12 people have plenty of space here and do not feel on top of one another. Convenient location. Set on the main road 200 yds from town centre great location, but close the big double doors and you are in a private and quiet spot, with fabulous views from the garden. There are many activities to do from the house from walking, fishing, geocaching, paragliding, balloon rides, swimming, stately home visiting to theme parks like Alton Towers. For an extra payment it is possible to hire a hot tub whilst you are at the property.

Brilliant family stay

By Paul Williams on 06-Oct-2023

We stayed at Victoria Cottages for a family gathering and birthday weekend, 9 of us in total and there was plenty of space for us all to relax and socialise. The house is well laid out with everything you need, and is a great location and short walk to the lovely Bakewell town centre. The instructions and guides from the owner Maggie were very clear and helpful and great communication from booking to checking out, would highly recommend for a family stay in the beautiful Peak District!

Short break in May

By D and K on 05-May-2023

This was a repeat visit for us. We love going to Victoria Cottage as it's such a good base for visiting the town and for good walks in the nearby hills (with no need to get back in the car). There are lots of things that make this a cut above compared to many holiday homes. The well equipped kitchen has loads of glasses, plates, pans etc. There's no need to wash up all the time just to have a plate, like in some places. And the kitchen is good for cooking and hanging out for the evening. The big, light living room is an excellent space to spend time with the family. And we like to sit in the high garden behind the house at the end of the day - and enjoy a drink looking across the hills and town.

So glad you enjoy the house so much that you return! Thanks for the lovely review and we look forward to your next visit.

Perfect stay

By Rachel on 28-Apr-2023

We arrived at the cottage and everything was ready for us to use, towels and bed linen provided. The cottage is well equipped and in a perfect location within Bakewell. A two minute walk into the centre of Bakewell with all the pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants. 10 adults stayed in the cottage and there was plenty of space with a large cosy living room, with plenty of seating and also in the kitchen area. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend and stay again. Thank you.
