By Roland and Dawn on 16-Apr-2025We stayed at Varis for a week in April and had a most amazing time. It is a perfect base for touring The Isle of Skye and the west of Scotland. The area is amazing, so gorgeous, everywhere you go are unbelievable views, great walks and lovely food. The drive to Applecross is incredible and the walk up to the old man of Storr is not to be missed. Varis itself is an excellent property, a lovely large three bedroom bungalow with great views. It is very comfortable and has everything you need. It’s a real home from home. Debra was really great to deal with, very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Roland and Dawn.
More like a home from home than a holiday rental
By Ian on 11-Apr-2025A very pleasant seven nights stay was had by all in a lovey part of the Scottish highlands with amazing great weather. Varis house is more like a home from home than a holiday rental, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen well equipped for some home cooking with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 shower rooms with wc in each and a snug with sofa and tv. Good utility area with washer and dryer if needed. Large lounge with tv, wood burning stove which we used on a couple of evenings, 2 sofas and arm chair. The large dining table set in front of the picture window with pleasing view towards Loch Alsh and Skye beyond. Lovely surroundings and grounds, very private with plenty of parking, electric charging point which is a bonus. Varis is within a few minutes walk from the local grocery shop for supplies if needed and The Balmacara Hotel is there for an evening drink looking out towards the loch and Skye.
..already recommended to friends
By Fen on 02-Apr-2025We had two wonderful weeks in this lovely and very comfortable house. Debra is a super host and made sure that we had the best experience during our stay. The local area is great for walking and sea kayaking. Even though we were visiting before the actual tourist season started, cafés and restaurants were open. We have already recommended the house to friends.
.. possibly the most comfortable and welcoming place we have stayed in
By Ian H on 02-Oct-2024This was our second visit and it is still really worth the very long journey from our home in France. It remains possibly the most comfortable and welcoming place we have stayed in during more than 30 years of travelling around Europe. Debra is a wonderful host and always responds promptly and helpfully to all requests. This is a real home from home and the setting is stunning and in one of our favorite places near Skye. We love it here and if health permits, we will definitely return.
