Nothing Negative ... Just perfect

By Stephen on 05-Jan-2023

Hello Stayed for 10 days in January. Having stayed in so many rentals over the years this is my first posting with NO negatives This property shows such attention to detail in every way Built anywhere this would be wonderful but the location makes it unique. The beach, the cliff walks, the skies!!! A glorious happy place.

Superb 'upside-down' holiday house

By Richard Wells on 20-Aug-2022

The Beach House, comfortable and very well appointed as an 'upside-down' house, was a superb base for our family holiday: just a few minutes walk from the beach; a short, easy walk to the groceries shop in the next village; with great views over the bay and of Burgh Island. There was a lovely atmosphere of peace and calm about The Beach House, excellently provisioned for catering, and with plenty on the shelves to occupy all ages in the event of poor weather. Good outings to Burgh Island, and to Bantham via a beautiful cliff walk and ferry across the Avon, and superb fish and chips from the 'chippie' at nearby Challaborough. A highly recommended holiday home, and one we'd be more than happy to book again.

Fantastic Beach House

By Yvonne Morrisroe on 03-Jul-2022

The house is extremely well-equipped, everything worked and the owners had thought of everything you could need. The view of Burgh Island from the balcony was great, and we watched the baby herring gulls on a nearby house who were trying to spread their wings. The location was great, very close to the beaches and the south-west coast path. There were lots of things to do locally, apart from hiking - we visited Hope Cove, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Modbury. The house was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable and cool in the heat. We'd love to go back one day!

Perfect short break with the family

By Paul Rogers on 19-Feb-2022

A fantastic house in a lovely quiet location close to the beach. House was superb - comfortable, clean with all you need for a relaxing break. The living area is a great place to be with family, nicely furnished with amazing views out of the huge glass windows. Highly recommended.

Fantastic house!

By Julia on 17-Jul-2021

We have holidayed in this area for more than 10 years but this was our first time at The Beach House. This house is large and very comfortable, having every mod con you could need. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning! We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be returning!

Super!

By Nigel Gordon on 08-Feb-2020

The Beach House has real wow factor, not just the quality and style of the furnishings but most especially as you reach the top of the stairs to the open plan first floor with fantastic views of the sea, the estuary and Burgh Island. There are no Kiss Me Quick hats (or anything else) for sale in Bigbury-on-Sea which we greatly appreciated. In season there's a small shop 10 minutes along the cliff top walk and a 10 minute drive away in St Anne's. Highly recommended
