The Beanacre Barn offers Gold Award winning, 4 Star (English Tourist Board), self-catering holiday accommodation. Set in the beautiful Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), in Somerset, England, the Beanacre Barn is an exceptionally spacious, open beamed barn which has been imaginatively converted and beautifully furnished by the present owners.

Designed for 2 persons, with the added flexibility of the quality sofa-bed for your short stay visitors, the Barn combines modern facilities and great comfort with a traditional style in a peaceful setting. Equipment and furnishings are of the best quality. The Barn has full central heating and free internet access is available.

The Barn's walled cottage-style garden, which is for your exclusive use, is a particularly outstanding feature, providing a secluded and peaceful place in which to relax. There is ample car parking space directly outside the Barn. The Barn is located on the edge of the village of Binegar on top of the Mendip Hills, 4 miles north of the remarkable cathedral city of Wells. Historic Bath and Bristol are both only 13 miles away and there is a wealth of places of interest to visit nearby. Places such as mystical Glastonbury Tor and its ancient Abbey amid the Somerset Levels and the towering Cheddar Gorge with its caves. There are many stunning National Trust properties all within 30-40 minutes drive.

We are unable to accommodate children under 12 years old. We do not accept pets.

Amazing hosts!

By Carole L on 22-Mar-2019

A beautiful, quiet place with everything you could need and a great location for exploring the area. Add to this amazing hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble and you have a place which I can’t recommend highly enough.

Absolutely wonderful

By Culture816583 on 20-Sep-2018

From start to finish, absolutely loved it. We received a very warm welcome, and were made to feel at home. The facilities were a cut above the rest and we wanted for nothing. The area and surroundings are amazing and so stunningly beautiful. The gardens surrounding the two buildings are spectacular and the abundance of really tasty apples is amazing.

We had a fantastic holiday in Beanacre Barn. Tony and Susan gave us a very warm welcome. We enjoyed the terrace with beautiful garden during our sunny holidays in the cottage. It is also an excellent base to explore the region. We recommend this cottage to everyone who is looking for quiet surroundings to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Translation:
Susan and Tony are a very good host and hostess. Their cottage is well furnished and equipped with everything. Very free and beautifully landscaped garden at the cottage. Excellent location for at least a week to stay, given the beautiful surroundings and the beautiful places Wells and Bath.

Our fabulous home away from home!

By Alison W, Vancouver, Canada on 04-May-2017

We were so excited when we booked this vacation rental and it did not disappoint in any way when we arrived and saw it in person; even the weather cooperated!!! Tony & Susan are gracious hosts, including welcoming us with a cup of tea, providing insights of local attractions and attentive to our needs; yet appropriately respectful of our need for privacy and space. They have made this vacation home into the perfect retreat, and have created a beautiful garden for guests to enjoy when outside. Beanacre Barn feels like a home. The week went far too quickly. Thank you Tony & Susan... we hope to be back when we next visit the UK.

4th stay in Somerset

By Benoit_from_belgium Braine-le-Comte on 20-Dec-2016

This is definitely our most favourite place to have a break in Somerset. Our first stay in this lovely barn was around New Years's Eve 2010, followed by two other stays (Spring 2010 and New Year's Eve 2013). Recently, in March 2016, we were there for the 4th time. The barn is a super confortable place, clean, cosy, warm (ha! those evenings in front of the log burner) and perfectly located to discover interesting places in Somerset or just have fantastic walks. And on top of the list: Susan and Tony are the kindest hosts ever !

Wonderful stay in the countryside

By Grahame H on 09-Nov-2016

We highly recommend Beanacre Barn where we have stayed four times now and had a wonderful holiday on each occasion. The owners, Sue and Tony, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. It is very well equipped, and very comfortable. As well as the spacious lounge, dining area/kitchen and bedroom, there is a marvellous patio where we sit and relax after a day touring Wells and other Somerset towns. A great place for a peaceful stay in the countryside.

Superb accommodation and delightful hosts

By Andrew H, London on 17-Aug-2015

Our holiday began with the delightful Susan and Tony greeting us warmly, leading us into their beautiful garden and plying us with tea, biscuits and advice about places to visit. When we dragged ourselves away to unload the car we found that the barn has been converted into a beautiful, cosy holiday home, equipped with everything we needed and spotlessly clean. It has its own well-maintained garden and a patio with outdoor. We found a wide variety of things to do in the area: we toured National Trust properties; we explored Wells and its cathedral; we lunched in lovely old country inns; we spent a day in Bath; we visited pretty local villages such as Mells and Nunney (with its moated castle ruin); and on one day my wife relaxed painting in the garden while I went birding on the Somerset Levels. We are already making plans to return next year — probably for two weeks rather than one.
