Cosy, clean cottage
By Lethbridge on 14-Jun-2026Rivermead is a delightful secluded base from which to explore Cornwall. Our cottage was well appointed, cosy and clean. It had everything we needed. The extensive grounds are a real bonus. At the end of each day we relaxed by walking along the banks of the river Fowey, through woodland carpeted with bluebells and watched swans on the lake. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Japanese Garden near Newquay and Tintagel Castle are all within easy reach by car. Bodmin Parkway railway station is a ten minute drive from Rivermead. It has a decent sized car park, but arrive early to be sure of a space. We used the train to visit St Ives, Truro and Falmouth. The owners Kate and Gary were very helpful and friendly. We have recommended Rivermead to our friends and we look forward to our next visit.
Peaceful and quiet

Beautiful setting

We also loved: the comfortable bed, friendly owners and the wonderful bag of goodies (cream tea, coffee, salt and all the ingredients for the cream tea). The access to the river and relaxing garden and beautiful setting. The easy access to the lovely local places. Thank you both - you've been wonderful hosts!
A safe and protective environment
