Description
You'll have the most relaxing, get-away-from-it-all stay at Owl Lodge which is perched on the hillside overlooking the lush Glynn Valley and enjoying south-facing views from all of the living spaces.
From the moment you arrive, pulling up into your own private parking space and taking in the views, you'll be starting to unwind. Your lodge is equipped with everything you'll need for your break, and more. There are beautiful linens on the beds, comfy leather sofas in the lounge area, walk-in wardrobes, huge showers, gas central heating, Bosch appliances in the kitchen and pretty Port Meirion crockery in the cupboards. There's even a washing machine in the hallway. The kitchen is well-equipped whether you choose to take a leisurely breakfast sitting on the balcony before heading out for the day, or cook your evening meals and eat on your private patio area watching the sunset over the trees. The oak dining table seats six but you also have a picnic table, chairs, parasol and a Weber BBQ outside, so you can take your pick.
Which bedroom will you choose? They all look out over the lawns towards the River Fowey and offer comfort and a good's night sleep. There are two rooms with king-size beds, walk-in wardrobes, dressing tables and drawers and a bright, airy twin room also with its own spacious storage. One king bedroom has its own large en-suite with a huge shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail. The other bedrooms share a family shower room, also with a large shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail. Shower room towels are provided for you so there's less to pack.
There are 17 acres of grounds for guests' exclusive use including woods, meadow, an acre and a half lake and a private stretch of the River Fowey available for trout and salmon fishing. Some guests come to switch off and never leave the site as they enjoy the nature Rivermead has to offer from nuthatches and blue tits, to buzzards, squirrels, otters, badgers and red deer. There's a boules court on site and the walks around the lake and the river offer different views each time you see them. Other guests find that Rivermead offers the perfect base for exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall. It's close enough to beaches like Looe, towns like Fowey, attractions such as the Eden project and memorable days out like a trip to Lantic Bay to walk part of the South West Coast Path to allow you to enjoy these wonderful places but still have time to relax once you return to your lodge.
