Melbourne Cottage is a part of a charming conversion of an early 1900's Coach House. Located in the historic village of Boscastle, renowned for its harbour and beautiful scenic countryside.
The cottage is situated in the middle of the village, with the coastal path, shops, harbour, restaurants and pubs all just a short walk away. Boscastle is ideally placed to explore the North Cornish coast, with it’s stunning cliff top scenery and beautiful safe, sandy beaches, perfect for family seaside holidays, swimmers and surfers alike.
There are many National Trust properties, and English Heritage sites to visit, especially the magical castle ruins of Arthurian fame at Tintagel, plus the Eden Project is a short drive away.
Ssh! Maybe I shouldn’t say this too loudly or we may not find any availability when we next want to visit our hidden gem of a place to stay! Incredibly well equipped and well maintained, we wanted for nothing during our 2 week stay recently. The icing on the cake is location. Just 5 minutes from the coast path and half way up/down the hill into the village. Thanks so much for making us feel so welcome!
Another great week spent at Melbourne Cottage.
This cottage is very well appointed and comfortable. It is in a perfect position to enjoy a quiet break in fantastic Boscastle with easy access to Forrabury and The Stitches to then walk down to the end of the picturesque and unique harbour from where you can enjoy the excellent eating and drinking options of the village.
The excellent Napoleon Inn is only 5 minutes (flat) walk away from the cottage too!
Highly recommend.
Melbourne Cottage is the most delightful cottage that we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Situated in the quaint harbour village of Boscastle, the view from the front garden is breathtaking. The cottage itself is wonderfully clean and welcoming, equipped with everything that you need for a relaxing holiday. The location is perfect to explore Cornwall from and the cottage is a cosy retreat to return back to at the end of a busy day. We loved it so much we are returning next year, Thank you so much.
It’s an excellent well equipped and very comfortable space, and the outside sitting area gets the sun all day – we had breakfast and supper out there. Fab! Melbourne Cottage is in an excellent location a little distance from the busy tourist part of Boscastle, yet easily reachable. Less than 5 minutes from the coastal path and views far into the North Atlantic and less than 10 minutes walk from the untouristy local pub, the Napoleon – even quicker on the way home, as its then downhill!! Thanks so much Carole and Andy.
We went back to Melbourne cottage this year just after Covid 19 allowed us. We felt totally happy going there knowing how well kept and clean the owners keep the cottage. Its in a wonderful location at the top of Boscastle village and just down from the coastal foot path. Its always feel like I am coming home when I stay there and always look forward to returning.
We spent Christmas in this lovely comfortable and warm cottage and had a wonderfully relaxed week. As we’ve stayed here previously, we knew that it was well equipped and contained all that we would need but it was a delightful bonus to be welcomed by the lights of a prettily decorated Christmas tree in the window. In addition, there was milk, biscuits and a bottle of very fine Cornish Cyder waiting for us. The cottage is well situated with close access to the coastal path that leads down to the harbour, pubs and shops. We have no hesitation in recommending Melbourne Cottage as an ideal place to stay in Boscastle.
What a lovely cottage! All our needs were catered for, even had a pint of milk, bottle of cider and cookies which was a lovely touch. Very tastefully decorated and very comfortable.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, has a nice patio with great views over Boscastle and is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the village, harbour, pubs and restaurants. We used the house as a base for walking the coast path and took buses, which stop nearby, to the start or from the finish points each day. For those who have a dog or who just like early morning or late evening walks (with sunsets over the sea) this is a perfect place; two minutes walk up the road there is a beautiful open space (Forrabury Stitches) with common land stretching to the cliffs and the coast path and a stunning walk down to Boscastle Harbour.
Just returned from a week in Melbourne Cottage and thoroughly recommend this very well appointed and cosy holiday home.
The cottage is in a great position for the top of Boscastle and particularly access to The Stitches and Willapark through the beautiful Forrabury Church grounds. The harbour is only a few minutes walk downhill - and a few more minutes back uphill!
A great little gem of a cottage.
We had a lovely week at boscastle. Lovely comfortable cottage with everything you would need. Spotlessly clean. Lovely village and walks. The dog loved it. Visited some lovely coastal villages. Hope to go back.
Lovely dog friendly cottage with secure garden and amazing views over Boscastle village. It is equipped and stocked with absolutely everything you could need and it was a nice touch to find a pint of milk in the fridge (along with some other treats - thank you very much!) when we arrived after a long journey. It is beautifully decorated inside and out, and the beds are comfortable. Boscastle harbour is beautiful with some great dog friendly pubs and places to eat. We can thoroughly recommend the Napolean for great food and a warm welcome. We look forward to coming back to Melbourne Cottage and Boscastle in the near future.
