Description

Crosswaye is close to Brancaster beach, one of Norfolk's most stunning beaches with four magnificent miles of flat golden sand. The self-catering holiday bungalow is perfect for couples and families who appreciate having a coastal footpath only two minutes from the front door. The beach itself is just a mile away, while The Ship Inn, a favourite local pub takes around a five minute walk.'
The beach at Brancaster is breathtaking, especially when the tide is out and you can walk for miles. If you fancy an adrenaline rush, there is a small designated area for kite buggying and plenty of space for good old fashioned kite flying. The expanse of sand is so spacious that it never feels crowded even on the most beautiful summer day. As well as a popular pub, Brancaster village has a children's playing area, but it is quiet and friendly, so ideal for visitors who prefer a little peace and quiet away from the crowds!
There are many fantastic places to discover in Norfolk. As well as the nearby beaches including Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham (the walk from Holkham to Wells is lovely with a great cafe at Wells for refuelling!), Holme and Hunstanton (great for windsurfing and kite boarding); the area has superb nature reserves including Titchwell RSPB Reserve and Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve - all just short drive away. Blakeney Point with its seal colonies and Cley Marshes is a little further, as is The famous Snettisham Nature Reserve on The Wash which is a must for nature lovers. The Brancaster Estate is managed by the National Trust and features Branodunum Roman Fort and Brancaster Staithe Harbour.
Burnham Market is a ten-minute drive from Crossway and a great place to stock up on the essentials as well as some tasty luxuries. It has a wide variety of independent shops including a butcher, fishmonger and wine merchant (there is also a small supermarket in Burnham Deepdale, two miles away). The Norfolk coast is renowned for producing some of the most succulent crab and lobster in the UK. Hunstanton is another option for shopping and eating, while Kings Lynn is around twenty miles away offering even more variety, and you can even reach the historic city of Norwich in just over an hour. Crosswaye really is the perfect place to enjoy an incredible holiday in Norfolk.

Crosswaye is a bungalow and it has recently been updated and modernised and has a fresh, welcoming atmosphere which fits beautifully with its surroundings.
Most of the living space is open plan yet because it is an "L" shape, means that you can still enjoy the areas separately. The living room has two comfy sofas, a television with DVD player, books and information about the local area. The room is multi-aspect so has the benefit of lots of natural daylight and garden views.
Dining room next to the kitchen, with a large table seating up to six people. It is also multi-aspect and is as nice to sit and eat breakfast in as it is to enjoy dinner.
There is a smaller dining table in the kitchen, providing a pleasant space to sit and chat or supervise children while preparing meals. The kitchen is very well equipped, including a tall fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Sunroom providing even more living space, stretching between the main part of the bungalow and the garden so you can enjoy the sense of being outside all year round. It opens into the garden and is a lovely spot to relax with an evening drink or a morning cup of tea.
Separate utility room housing a washing machine and dryer providing a convenient place to leave sandy or muddy shoes to dry.
Spacious master bedroom with a luxurious king-sized bed and ample storage in the form of two bedside chests, a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers.
Twin bedroom with two full-sized single beds and wardrobe. It is decorated in soothing shades of blue and is appropriate either for children or adult guests. As with the master bedroom, it enjoys calming views of the garden.
Tiled family shower room with a large walk-in shower, WC, heated towel rail and handbasin.

A well maintained, mature garden is another big attraction of Crosswaye. It wraps around the house and has several outdoor seating areas, allowing you to enjoy the sun throughout the day. There is also a barbecue for guests to use during their stay. Off-road parking for several cars.

Crosswaye has central heating and WiFi throughout. All utilities, linen and towels are provided, although guests are required to bring their own beach towels. Short breaks (minimum three nights) are possible outside of peak season. The property is non-smoking.

Two elderly folk

By Joan L on 24-May-2022

The bungalow, furnished with all mod cons, and surrounded by a pretty garden, proved ideal for us. We know the coastline well, and had a great time visiting old haunts, but at times, just watching the birdlife and the tide come in and out over the staithe and marshes, a very restful occupation! The only thing we missed was comfortable garden loungers. If you are feeling lazy, and wish simply to enjoy lounging in the garden for a few hours, bring your own loungers. There is s nice table and chairs for al fresco dining.
