Lovely setting, close to the beach
Rosalind and Jonny are great hosts, this is our second stay and we love it. They have fantastic gardens in such a beautiful spot. Would definitely recommend it.
The most beautiful countryside and tranquil setting I have ever stayed in. The place to leave London behind and relax It was an honour to be staying there.
Lovely place in beautiful grounds a short drive to all the wonderful beaches of Salcombe. Highly recommendable.
This place is AMAZING! We almost don’t want to write a brilliant review in case we can’t book in to go back another time!! The location is the most beautiful place ever. We didn’t even leave the property for 36 hours, we were just enjoying the amazing gardens and 4 acre meadows with pond that you are free to explore. The Coach House was perfect for the 6 of us, and my mother-in-law who we were visiting in Kingsbridge came over to spend the day and evening with us. The gas barbecue in the garden was perfect for the glorious weather so we barely used the kitchen other than for doing breakfast and visiting the fridge! The resident peacock is an amazing feature of the property too. He sits up the top of the tallest tree at night and calls out. Quite amazing to see and hear - the kids loves watching out for him to appear each evening. John and Rosalind were amazing hosts - so friendly and always available and their whole property was amazing to stay at. Definitely recommend this if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area. Our 4 year old nephew from America who was with us kept running around the grounds shouting ‘This place is AWESOME, I want to take it all home with me!’ :-)
We enjoyed our stay at the Coach House so much that we extended! The property is located in the most rural idyllic setting, with over four acres of natural beauty and stunning far-reaching views. This truly is a haven to get away from it all and to forget the strains of everyday life. We hadn't visited this particular part of Devon before and we were in for a treat. It really is absolutely beautiful, with a good selection of stunning villages and beaches all around a twenty-minute drive away. You do need a car and the narrow lanes can be quite a challenge, but if you don't mind driving, this is well worth it, the peace and tranquility of the grounds and the surrounding countryside are second to none. The property is well equipped and has it's own garden with a gas barbecue, which is perfect for summer evenings. The owners, Rosalind and Johnny, live on site, but are discreet and absolutely lovely. We definitely recommend for a taste of glorious Britain at its best and hope to return.
