Warmed by the Gulf Stream this part of Cornwall enjoys its own micro climate and has a real Mediterranean feel about it. The subtropical plants, cliff top paths and sandy beaches make Carbis Bay a pleasure to visit all year round and we are able to offer short breaks, whether you are looking for a family getaway, a quiet romantic weekend for two, or an action packed holiday with friends we are sure you won't be disappointed.

Only a mile and a half from the picturesque fishing village of St Ives, arguably the most famous seaside town in Cornwall, which is easily accessed by the magnificent South West coastal path or the St Ives Bay branch line, Carbis Bay is the perfect location for a great holiday and an ideal base for exploring the many attractions that West Cornwall has to offer.

It's not difficult to see why this beautiful part of Cornwall was chosen to host the world leaders at the G7 summit in 2021, where the world leaders enjoyed the stunning backdrop of Carbis Bay beach for their meetings, barbeques and press brieifings.

Enjoy the tranquil setting of Carbis Bay and its beautiful beach, stroll along the magnificent South West coastal path, taking in the dramatic views of St Ives Bay, and be in St Ives in around 20 minutes or so, or hop on the St Ives Bay branch line (almost certainly the most scenic railway in the UK) and be in St Ives in just three minutes (of course you can take your car, but St Ives is almost impossible to drive through and park in the summer!).

Carbis Bay Station is just a short walk from Sea Shells and the regular three minute train journey into St Ives is a delight (adult fare is just £1). The advantage of staying in Carbis Bay is that you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of St Ives, without the hassle of traffic and parking (many of the properties in St Ives do not have parking facilities and public spaces are limited), and during peak season driving through the centre of St Ives can be quite a challenge.

St Ives has an abundance of art galleries, fine restaurants and a choice of golden sandy beaches, sparkling azure seas and its charming working harbour so it’s no wonder it is one of the UK’s favourite holiday destinations. Its unique quality of light provides inspiration to artists, poets and writers all year round. Visitors will be captivated by the light, and mesmerised by the beauty of the award winning beaches, the maze of cobbled streets and quaint fisherman’s cottages, and will be charmed with the blend of designer shops and quaint traditional tea rooms which all seem to sit together in perfect harmony.

Carbis Bay itself has a fabulous blue flag beach, a good safe family holiday beach with lifeguard cover usually available between May and September, there’s a beach cafe / restaurant & takeaway as well as a local shop, fish & chip shop, pubs, restaurants, etc. There are also a choice of spa facilities and golf within a two mile radius (including West Cornwall golf Club, probably one of the finest links courses in Cornwall). Water sports, including kayaking and stand up paddle boards, are available at Carbis Bay beach, with surfing lessons available in St Ives or at nearby Gwithian. Carbis Bay, just a mile and a half away from the bustling centre of St Ives, is the perfect base for a memorable holiday.

No smoking or vaping permitted in the building and we regret that no pets are allowed at any time of the year.

A beautiful weekend in Carbis Bay

By Fran on 06-Mar-2024

Just returned home from our beautiful weekend in Carbis bay. The apartment was spotless, the extra touches of a personalised written card, scones, milk were amazing. Everything was fresh and clean. The views were amazing and the secure location really helped. Fay was amazing from start to finish, we were there for a wedding and had driven nearly 5 hours but Fay was so helpful with information. Would highly recommend

Such a great holiday !

By Liz & Martin on 23-Feb-2024

Such a great holiday which we shared with our family who stayed in the sister apartment next door (Sea Spray). An exceptional apartment extremely well equipped and really homely with large rooms throughout. The information packs in the apartment contain everything you need from operating instructions to places to eat and visit. 2 beautiful patios to the front and rear of the property for sunbathing in the summer months, 1 of which has sea views. We were so surprised with the wonderful welcome hamper that provided a great start to our holiday. The property was exceptionally clean throughout. The location in Carbis Bay is perfectly situated by the beach and only a few minute walk to the train station for the 3 minute ride into St Ives with regular trains throughout the day. Perfectly situated for walking the coastal path which we chose to walk to and from St Ives on several occasions to make the most of the beautiful views and dolphin and seal spotting.
