The Cottage, Flintstone Cottages

By O5751JYmicheller on 19-Oct-2020

We stayed for 4 nights in September and The Cottage was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Jo, the owner, went out of her way to accommodate my allergies and to make our stay relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.

Very modern interior to this farmhouse style holiday

By Anthony Harris on 30-Sep-2020

Very modern interior to this farmhouse style holiday accommodation. One small caution is for any sports car owners who might visit, is that the buildings are approached by an unmade road which is really bumpy and full of holes, so beware if you arrive after dark. That aside, the location is quiet and beautiful. Its also handy for a number of locations to visit such as West Wittering, Brighton, Worthing, Arundel etc. There is a train line nearby but it is not noisy at all. The building we stayed in was spotlessly clean, with good quality bed linen, towels etc. Apart from the approach road I couldn't find a fault and I'm the fussy type. I would definitely stay there again.

A hidden gem which i really don't want to share as i need availability to go again!

By Sharon Broadway on 29-Aug-2020

A hidden gem which I really don't want to share as I need availability to go again! However the owner, Jo, deserves the recommendation.

5 delightful cottages with different styles and accommodation to choose from set in the West Sussex countryside. All cottages were very clean, I know as it was a family gathering and we bookd all 5, and well equipped with washing machines and dishwashers, extremely comfortable beds and fabulous bathrooms with wonderful showers.

Each cottage has its own outside personal space with table and chairs and you also have the enjoyment of the grounds dotted with fruit trees and open spaces ideal for family games. Early morning we spotted rabbits and squirrels playing in the gardens.

From the old to the young, we all had a fabulous time and will be back.

We stayed at Flintstone Cottages for 5 days in August with family members ranging from 22 years old to 85 years old.

By Joe Broadway on 22-Aug-2020

We stayed at Flintstone Cottages for 5 days in August with family members ranging from 22 years old to 85 years old. We had booked months before as accommodation for our wedding, which we luckily still managed to go ahead with. After months of stress and uncertainty, Jo was our Fairy Godmother and allowed us to have a small 'reception' back at the cottages. She allowed for us to have the perfect day and we really cannot stress how thankful we are.

EVERYONE who came to the cottages commented on how beautiful they were. And we found them to be practically perfect. The weather was incredible for our stay and Jo had no qualms about us using the whole garden space, and even filled up our paddling pool! Each cottage was beautiful equipped with everything you can need and then decor made us feel like we were staying in a very high-end hotel!

Thank you so much Jo and the Flintstone team for everything you did for us. We can't wait to come back and visit when we can!

wonderful relaxing countryside retreat

By Donna S on 01-Aug-2020

The cottage is a modern well-presented self-catering accommodation with 3 double bedrooms, sleeps 8 (including sofa bed.) It is 10-minute drive from Chichester - in the heart of the countryside with beautiful views and very peaceful. We had a wonderful relaxing break. The cottage had all the home comforts we needed - washing machine, dishwasher, 2 toilets, separate shower cubicle, bath, log burner, free wifi, tv, blu ray player, dining table, large sofa. It was immaculately clean and towels and bed linen provided. The bedrooms were very comfortable. All had double beds with their own wardrobes, mirror and bedside lamps. Outside you have your own private garden with decking and outside table and chairs. There is a bbq as well as a tumble dryer to freely use. My children loved the large communal garden too - which had a large trampoline to use. It is also dog friendly. Jo is an amazing hostess - and provided everything needed for a stress-free relaxing break.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage.

By Dipak Haria on 31-Jul-2020

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage. The owner was kind enough to accommodate us at short notice when we were let down by a booking at another property in the area. The Cottage was clean, bright, and well-equipped for our family. Would highly recommend staying here. Well located to explore Chichester, Arundel and nearby beaches and walking trails.

4 adults and 3 children age almost 3, 2 and 18 months stayed here as part of our family Xmas celebrations. Perfect family accommodation as able to use larger place for Xmas meal together ie the barn. Children loved being able to 'visit' each other! All properties used fitted out to high standard and child friendly. Highly recommend all properties used for our stay. Thanks.

Well equipped modern accommodation, great for groups

By NorthStar25445345374 on 19-Oct-2019

We received a warm reception on arrival, and were helped to settle in with minimum fuss. We were a group staying in various parts of the many property options which was ideal for us attending a wedding at a nearby location. The cottage was a good size for the six of us, is modern and very well equipped. It would be ideal for a family with the benefit of some added facilities outside that would keep children entertained. Certainly good value and I would definitely recommend this to friends. Also, a very efficient booking system and professional communications made the experience trouble free.

We had a family Wedding on the weekend of the 10th of August

By Ashley McEvoy on 24-Aug-2019

We had a family Wedding on the weekend of the 10th of August this year 2019 at the Barn who recommended Flintstone Cottages. We booked early and so glad we did because the accommodation is fantastic in every way. Every thing you need is there, the accommodation looks brand new and high spec. It’s spacious immaculately clean. Piping hot water all the time and of course wi-fi for a large amount of kids. We used the grounds and bbq and really did not need to go anywhere else. We did go to the Gribble pub close by, a thatched ale pub which sells kegs of licence which is a plus. Wonderful Jo and Steve are most welcoming and nothing was to much. I would recommend The accommodation keep an eye out for the sign on the road which leads down a short lane to your amazing retreat.

Perfect base for families

By Rosie D on 04-Jun-2019

We booked the Flintstone Cottages as accommodation for my husband's family who travelled from Italy for our wedding. They were completely blown away by how luxurious yet homely the cottages were. They are very modern with all the facilities you need to be comfortable, kitchens well equipped to make basic meals, tvs, irons and even a BBQ. It worked so well being able to share meals together etc when we wanted and also be able to retreat and have our own space. Thank you for making us feel so at home and for great communication from start to finish.

Peace and relaxation.

By Jdeabreu1967 on 13-Mar-2019

On the way here from Heathrow I wondered where on earth are we going. Out into the country down little creepy roads, over the bumps and holes it really seemed rather creepy. When we pulled into the driveway felt like we took a wrong turn until we got inside the place. It is magnificent. Never judge a book by its cover. Kinda looks like a farm house. But oh my wonderful greatness!!! So so homely and posh at the same time. Such an awesome and relaxing place. Absolutely loving our stay here. So spacious yet so intimate and cozy. Thanks Jo for your kind hospitality!! It’s like visiting an old friend. So helpful and friendly. Thanks for making our stay so worth the drive. Lovely places to visit for young and old. God bless you Jo!

A Lovely Cottage in a Beautiful Location - Perfect

By Jan G on 02-Dec-2018

The Cottage is set in a tranquil location just 15 minutes from Goodwood where we were exhibiting at The Rare Breed Christmas Fair. Jo the owner greeted us on our arrival and made us most welcome. She lit the wood burner for us and the heating was on - The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the beds a delight. I would definitely recommend Flintstone Cottages and will certainly stay again if I am in the area.

Fantastic accommodation, everything you could need and more

By AlexC1958 on 29-Oct-2018

We booked 3 apartments at Flintstone Cottages, The Cottage, The Loft and The Lodge as our daughter was getting married at Farbridge Wedding venue and we needed accommodation for 18 people, we are so glad we found these. All were very clean and with plenty of space. This allowed the bride to be to have a relaxing time with her family who travelled from Scotland and Australia. It was an excellent setting giving a great start to the wedding preparations. We would definitely book again if back in this area. Chichester is only a short drive away and has all the shopping and facilities you would require. We also had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Gribble Inn a 5 min drive away

15 adults stayed for a long weekend for a family celebration;

By Julie Saich on 29-Sep-2018

15 adults stayed for a long weekend for a family celebration; we took the Lodge, the Barn, the Garden Room and the Cottage to give ourselves plenty of room. All four cottages were lovely, very modern and clean and most importantly comfortable. We socialised in the Lodge and all had breakfast together in the Barn. Jo was very helpful right from before booking through to check-out - she answered all my questions very quickly. The setting is away from the road so lovely and quiet but near enough to a number of places; plenty to do, see and visit and lovely pubs. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend.

Modern in lovely setting

By Jaz771 on 26-Sep-2018

Really lovely cottage, very modern and beautifully fitted out and clean. It has a lovely setting off the main road, so very quiet but within close proximity to so many places to visit. Jo was helpful throughout the booking process, which made it easy. We rented as one of four of the cottages for a family long weekend and it was perfect. Pubs we recommend The Crown & Anchor at Dell Quay - good for walking before relaxing with great food in a beautiful setting; the Gribble Inn just 1 mile away and the George & Dragon at Houghton.

We booked the Flintstone Cottages for our bridal party for our wedding in July 2018.

By Rachel Drayton on 31-Aug-2018

We booked the Flintstone Cottages for our bridal party for our wedding in July 2018. Thirty-three of us stayed at the cottages for three nights. The cottages were perfect for all ages and are perfectly located for travelling in to Chichester. Beautiful grounds, lots of space and the freedom to use them as we wished. We hosted a BBQ Garden Party for fifty people the day after our wedding, Jo lent us two BBQ's and was happy to let us celebrate throughout the day and evening with our family and friends. Jo and Steve (part of the site team) were brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough to help us. We can't wait to stay here again in the future. We highly recommend Flintstone Cottages.

A group of 28 of us stayed for a family wedding -

By Gaynor Rennicks on 11-Aug-2018

A group of 28 of us stayed for a family wedding - including the bride and bridesmaids ! The properties are all amazing - beautifully appointed and kept in excellent condition. The setting is perfect - a good location near to Chichester with superb grounds ideal for using as a large group. Jo was just a fabulous host - nothing was too much trouble - which even included transporting all the wedding party to a large vintage bus at the end of the lane. We cant wait to meet up together at this venue for another celebratory event. I cant recommend this venue enough.

Modern, bright, stunning location

By Pallas44 on 18-Jun-2018

We are a family of 18 (10 adults, 8 children) who traveled over to West Sussex from Ireland and mainland Europe for a family wedding. We found the whole set up suited us perfectly, the grounds are immaculately kept, its so safe for the children who by the way loved the trampoline, the houses are well equipped with all mod cons and although you are in the middle of countryside the town of Chichester with all its amenities was minutes away. Jo is the perfect host and if we are ever in the locale again we will be sure to stay. Thanks for making our weekend away so special.

By Sue Coker on 31-May-2018

We stayed here as a family for a family wedding and we couldn’t have chosen better accommodation. We hired all the cottages and they were all of an excellent standard. The cottages are very well equipped and furnished to a beautiful high standard and they are all very clean. The grounds are stunning and to top it all Jo who runs the accommodation is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. I would highly recommend Flintstone Cottages and look forward to returning there myself and exploring the local area.

Modern, bright and everything we needed for a great weekend.

By WebboLondon on 23-Mar-2018

We stayed in the Lodge for the weekend when my husband raced at Goodwood. We were 4 adults and 2 children. The lodge was very modern, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms (showers huge!!) and all impeccably clean. Everything was catered for. We cooked and enjoyed meals in the lodge both nights. Beds extremely comfortable for a great night’s rest. There was enough space to socialise as a group but also to get away to spend some quiet time. Parking was right outside the front door and the Lodge is located for easy reach to Goodwood and Chichester. Jo popped in to see we had everything we needed, which was a lovely touch. I would thoroughly recommend this Lodge to family and friends and would return again. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

By Karen P on 05-Jan-2017

My family and I stayed at The Cottage over the Xmas period and had a wonderful time. The Cottage is very clean and modern and offers great facilities. Quality rustic properties with tasteful and thoughtful contents all set in peaceful and beautiful countryside.

By TGsTravels on 01-Nov-2016

would thoroughly recommend Flintstone Cottages, all five units.. set in beautiful and peaceful countryside, the high quality properties well equipped with contents of equal good taste and quality (and with burners set with kindling ready to go) make for a relaxing time.. my son was getting married nearby, and 'the village' made a wonderful base that allowed our families to be together, but with the necessary privacy, for the whole weekend adding to a truly memorable occasion.

5 of of 5

Truly quality, tasteful and peaceful accommodation

By Tony G. on 01-Nov-2016

The Cottage was our base for our son's wedding nearby.. it allowed my immediate family to enjoy private space but be near his fiancee's family in the adjacent cottages, which afforded opportunities for get-togethers over this special weekend. We all were impressed by the quality and tastefulness, and thoughtful content, of each of the units - even certain supplies were available in the kitchen. Jo took time out to ensue we felt at home, and was available during our stay. The grounds are kept immaculately, and the views of the surrounding countryside make a gorgeous backdrop to this backwater. There is also plenty of parking within the complex, much of it undercover and illuminated.

Relaxing weekend at The Lodge and The Cottage

By Chris F on 04-Oct-2016

We stayed at The Lodge and The Cottage with a group of 13 for a nearby wedding. We were looking for a hassle-free base to relax between wedding festivities and this place was perfect! Jo met us when we arrived and showed us round the grounds including golf putting green, shared BBQ area and private outdoor dining areas for both cottages. The cottages were very clean, modern and well appointed for cooking for everyone we had staying with us. Jo was helpful throughout the weekend and the security deposit was returned promptly without any issues.

We stayed at the Cottage with a group of 8 - as we were at Goodwood Revival. Perfect and very comfy. Its ideal located to the circuit and great value for money. The Host Jo couldn't do enough for us and very friendly. I have no hesitation in using again and recommending. Lovely property and ideally situated. Away from the busy roads tucked away. Beautiful gardens and plenty of parking.

Modern, clean cottage on nice location

By Carol824 on 22-Aug-2015

The cottages are modern and very clean. There are well equiped. Nice bathrooms with good shower facility. Nice, large garden with shared BBQ and trampoline to play for children. We stayed in The Cottage. Although the Cottage can sleep 8 persons, I would not recommend a stay with more than 6 people in view of the space. Third bedroom is rather small. Also fridge space and dishwasher are rather small. All beds are double beds. (We would have preferred twin beds in one or 2 bedrooms). Lot of things to do in the area (beaches, musea, estates, castles, villages, antique stores etc.). Fast Wifi. Nice smart TV with selection of family movies. Sundeck for those sunny days.

excellent location and facilities

By Christine C on 26-May-2015

Great second stay at these rentals. Clean and modern facilities. Location great for many different trips and fantastic walks. Arundel circular walk and town the races and isle of Wight -Obsourne House. Then fab walk round Chichester Marinas. Very accommodating staff and owner. Downside bedroom 3 quite small in the Cottage and small storage. Overall would visit again but try to get the lodge.

Simply the best!

By Jeannie72 on 27-Nov-2013

After arriving back to Australia after our holiday in the UK I felt it was really important I write this review straight away, these cottages need to be known about - they are just fantastic! They certainly tick all the boxes for me!!!! Words can not describe accurately this accommodation - so much thought and effort has gone into making these cottages like "home from home" no stone has been left unturned - everything you can think of and more is here at this accommodation, just pack your clothes and just turn up - with the added bonus of the beautiful countryside - peace and quiet - no parking issues - wonderful friendly owner. Just everything about this accommodation is wonderful - we had a wonderful time in the UK and many busy days - it was just lovely to know at the end of the day we were returning to such a lovely place to rest our weary heads!!! Very inviting, sometimes made us feel we wanted to stay in for the day! Very impressed with the whole stay which was in total 12 nights! Would without a doubt book again when I visit the UK again - just SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!! Thanks Jo it was wonderful :-)

Absolutely superb!

By Martin C on 30-Sep-2013

We have recently returned from a long weekend at The Cottage at Flintstones where we had a fabulous break.the Cottage is a recently renovated, extremely tastfully finished very high quality holiday cottage. no expense has been spared with all facilities, quality of finish and comfort of all the surroundings from comprehensively equiped kitchen to quality of linen and soft furnishings. Our boys loved the SMART TV with a really quick wi-fi. Great location for getting away from the hustle and bustle yet near enough to Chichester and beaches and other amenities. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming

Excellet cottage and very friendly helpful people

By Paul V on 16-Sep-2013

Everything brand new. Everything you need in a self catering cottage. Quiet place, yet close to Chichester. Very helpful owner, living around the corner. Shared walls with connected cottages, but built such that we could not hear neighbors. Train passes fairly close by, but is nearly impossible to hear inside

Beautiful, relaxing and well equipped place

By Burnham on 29-Aug-2013

After looking at a number of locations around South Central England, I zoomed in on Chichester for a short holiday over the bank holiday with my family and in-laws. I actually took a chance as the pictures of this cottage looked amazing, I wanted a place that would be relaxing and peaceful and yet could easily get to the places of interest. This property offered me with exactly what I was looking for, beautiful and relaxing to retire back to after a day's outing. My children absolutely loved staying here, it was fully equipped with the modern technology, wifi, smart internet TV, good collection of dvd's to suit everyone in the family. It was decorated to a high standard and very clean. We could easily travel to Chichester, Arundel, LittleHampton, West Wittering beach, Elmsworth in 20 minutes which was great! There is a train line close by, but didn't bother us much as we all slept soundly and don't really know the frequency of the trains passing by. There were some Hover flies (don't know if thats what they were) that were a bit annoying for the children on the last day of our stay as we were packing to leave. I think the flies were out and about on a nice sunny day in the countryside which is not a major concern though. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend.

Home from home - perfect place to come back to after long days working an event

By Luke B on 05-Aug-2013

On behalf of a client, I was looking for accommodation for five days for a group of us working at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Fortunately, The Cottage became available and we snapped it up. The standard of the accommodation is incredible and location picturesque. After long days working at the event it was a joy to come back to The Cottage and relax in total comfort or have a BBQ on the patio area. The only shame was not being able to spend more time in The Cottage! Jo and the staff were extremely helpful and always able to answer any questions we had about the accommodation or local amenities. We will definitely be booking again if we return to the Festival of Speed.
