What a wonderful week we spent in the Lodge.

A hidden gem which i really don't want to share as i need availability to go again!

By Sharon Broadway on 29-Aug-2020

A hidden gem which I really don't want to share as I need availability to go again! However the owner, Jo, deserves the recommendation.

5 delightful cottages with different styles and accommodation to choose from set in the West Sussex countryside. All cottages were very clean, I know as it was a family gathering and we bookd all 5, and well equipped with washing machines and dishwashers, extremely comfortable beds and fabulous bathrooms with wonderful showers.

Each cottage has its own outside personal space with table and chairs and you also have the enjoyment of the grounds dotted with fruit trees and open spaces ideal for family games. Early morning we spotted rabbits and squirrels playing in the gardens.

From the old to the young, we all had a fabulous time and will be back.

We stayed at Flintstone Cottages for 5 days in August with family members ranging from 22 years old to 85 years old.

By Joe Broadway on 22-Aug-2020

We stayed at Flintstone Cottages for 5 days in August with family members ranging from 22 years old to 85 years old. We had booked months before as accommodation for our wedding, which we luckily still managed to go ahead with. After months of stress and uncertainty, Jo was our Fairy Godmother and allowed us to have a small 'reception' back at the cottages. She allowed for us to have the perfect day and we really cannot stress how thankful we are.

EVERYONE who came to the cottages commented on how beautiful they were. And we found them to be practically perfect. The weather was incredible for our stay and Jo had no qualms about us using the whole garden space, and even filled up our paddling pool! Each cottage was beautiful equipped with everything you can need and then decor made us feel like we were staying in a very high-end hotel!

Thank you so much Jo and the Flintstone team for everything you did for us. We can't wait to come back and visit when we can!

Very comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location.

By Mobile17408813210 on 31-Jul-2020

We stayed in the Lodge, which was in a lovely, peaceful location. It had facilities useful for our elderly mother, such as a wheelchair ramp. The rooms were comfortable and the living space was plenty big enough for us, with all the useful amenities such as hairdryer, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Jo was very nice and accommodating, we had a lovely stay, would definitely stay again!!

Peaceful Lodge

By Ansa T on 22-Jul-2020

Had a wonderful time at the Lodge Flintstone Cottages. Apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. We were a family of 6 with one person in a wheelchair. It was spacious enough for the wheelchair and had plenty of room for us all. Great price to and a welcome break after lockdown. Easy to get to all the beaches and 10 mins from Chichester. Would love to come back again. Thanks Jo. Amanda

High quality, comfortable and well equipped.

By FellowTraveler508324 on 04-Feb-2020

Our family of 18 people had a great time in 3 of the dwellings. The Lodge housed us all for eating and general birthday activities comfortably, whilst The Barn and The Cottage slept 12 of us. Good comfy beds and very good showers as well as good cooking facilities. Our older lads found plenty of space around the site for energetic runs as did our dog! A great 4 days and would recommend for family gatherings, or just exploring Chichester and Harbour as well as our wonderful South Downs!

By Https://rentals.tripadvisor.com/en_GB/bookings/rev on 16-Sep-2019

Rented the Lodge and the Cottage for a family party, ages ranging from 15 to 82. This was the perfect setting, plenty of outside space and owner very accommodating in the use of outside spaces for our extended lunches and suppers. Plenty of parking and room for the dog !! Facilities excellent, linen and towels plentiful and good quality. Easy drive into Chichester and beautiful surrounding villages. The owner Jo and the gentleman who helped her out were friendly and helpful - I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect place for a family friendly self catering holiday

By Mum5kids on 29-Aug-2019

The houses were immaculately clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The houses were spacious and modern decorated to a high standard. The gardens were lovely with a trampoline that the children could use. The owner was on site and was extremely helpful if needed. The location is fantastic with the beach only a short drive a way and lovely pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area. I would thoroughly recommend these cottages.

We had a family Wedding on the weekend of the 10th of August

By Ashley McEvoy on 24-Aug-2019

We had a family Wedding on the weekend of the 10th of August this year 2019 at the Barn who recommended Flintstone Cottages. We booked early and so glad we did because the accommodation is fantastic in every way. Every thing you need is there, the accommodation looks brand new and high spec. It’s spacious immaculately clean. Piping hot water all the time and of course wi-fi for a large amount of kids. We used the grounds and bbq and really did not need to go anywhere else. We did go to the Gribble pub close by, a thatched ale pub which sells kegs of licence which is a plus. Wonderful Jo and Steve are most welcoming and nothing was to much. I would recommend The accommodation keep an eye out for the sign on the road which leads down a short lane to your amazing retreat.

Wonderful stay at the Lodge and Cottage

By CarolynMoore on 30-Apr-2019

We booked the Lodge and Cottage over the Easter weekend for our wedding at local Upwaltham Barns for a group of 16. Flintstone Cottages was the perfect base for the weekend, lovely accommodation and great location, all surrounded by beautiful countryside! With a large bridal party to get ready on the morning of our wedding the Lodge had lots of light and space so was ideal. Jo and Steve made us feel very welcome on arrival, a home away from home. Thank you! Carolyn & Bryan

Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

By Sally Linney on 20-Apr-2019

Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough. We booked it as it was close to Upwaltham Barns where our daughter’s wedding was taken place. Stayed from 12 - 15 April. It was perfect in every way. Beautiful location peaceful and tranquil, furnished to the highest quality. Top class facilities. We wanted for nothing. Jo and Steve certainly went over and above ,warm friendly and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. We received a call on the morning of our arrival to check what time we would be arriving and Steve was on hand the minute we drove onto the property. He gave us a tour of the Lodge and explained the heating system and where everything was. They also on hand anytime at the end of the phone if we needed them. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Great Xmas break

By SamDerby1975 on 03-Jan-2019

I booked the Lodge for a family pre Christmas long weekend.

By Wendy Dye on 21-Dec-2018

I booked the Lodge for a family pre Christmas long weekend. Jo was most efficient throughout the booking process and met us upon our arrival. The Lodge’s open plan living area provides a great space to socialise and the beds were really comfortable too with quality bed linen. It is ideally situated not being far from Chichester and there is a great pub at Oving, ‘The Gribble Inn.’ My father mislaid a ring whilst we were there and upon finding it Jo posted it off on the same day. Thankyou! We will be looking at booking again.

15 adults stayed for a long weekend for a family celebration;

By Julie Saich on 29-Sep-2018

15 adults stayed for a long weekend for a family celebration; we took the Lodge, the Barn, the Garden Room and the Cottage to give ourselves plenty of room. All four cottages were lovely, very modern and clean and most importantly comfortable. We socialised in the Lodge and all had breakfast together in the Barn. Jo was very helpful right from before booking through to check-out - she answered all my questions very quickly. The setting is away from the road so lovely and quiet but near enough to a number of places; plenty to do, see and visit and lovely pubs. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend.

Large, modern in perfect location

By Jas771 on 26-Sep-2018

Really lovely cottage, very roomy and modern and beautifully fitted out and clean. Great to have bathroom and en suite. It has a lovely setting off the main road, so very quiet but within close proximity to so many places to visit. Jo was helpful throughout the booking process, which made it easy. We rented as one of four of the cottages for a family long weekend and it was perfect as the main socialising cottage for the 15 adults. The Adventure golf at Chichester Golf club was a really good laugh. Pubs we recommend The Crown & Anchor at Dell Quay - good for walking before relaxing with great food in a beautiful setting; the Gribble Inn just 1 mile away and the George & Dragon at Houghton.

We booked the Flintstone Cottages for our bridal party for our wedding in July 2018.

By Rachel Drayton on 31-Aug-2018

We booked the Flintstone Cottages for our bridal party for our wedding in July 2018. Thirty-three of us stayed at the cottages for three nights. The cottages were perfect for all ages and are perfectly located for travelling in to Chichester. Beautiful grounds, lots of space and the freedom to use them as we wished. We hosted a BBQ Garden Party for fifty people the day after our wedding, Jo lent us two BBQ's and was happy to let us celebrate throughout the day and evening with our family and friends. Jo and Steve (part of the site team) were brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough to help us. We can't wait to stay here again in the future. We highly recommend Flintstone Cottages.

We had a lovely stay in the Lodge.

By Darren Stanton on 18-Aug-2018

We had a lovely stay in the Lodge. It was very spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The owner gave us a warm welcome and provided us some essentials. We were part of a large party and had most of the accommodation booked so took full advantage of being separate but together. This is an ideal place to base yourselves if you are visiting Chichester, Arundel and Bognor as well as the Wedding venue Upwaltham Barns. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.

By Gaynor Rennicks on 11-Aug-2018

A group of 28 of us stayed for a family wedding - including the bride and bridesmaids ! The properties are all amazing - beautifully appointed and kept in excellent condition. The setting is perfect - a good location near to Chichester with superb grounds ideal for using as a large group. Jo was just a fabulous host - nothing was too much trouble - which even included transporting all the wedding party to a large vintage bus at the end of the lane. We cant wait to meet up together at this venue for another celebratory event. I cant recommend this venue enough.

Wonderful stay

By Caroline647 on 27-Jul-2018

We stayed in the Lodge which had good facilities, was clean and well maintained. We were a party of. 6 adults and we felt the lodge had plenty of space for us. The location is down a country lane which gives a lovely sense of privacy and there was plenty of space for the big kids to run around and jump about on the trampoline. Both Steve and Jo were very helpful and had a lovely friendly manner. Told definitely stay here again.

By Sue Coker on 31-May-2018

We stayed here as a family for a family wedding and we couldn’t have chosen better accommodation. We hired all the cottages and they were all of an excellent standard. The cottages are very well equipped and furnished to a beautiful high standard and they are all very clean. The grounds are stunning and to top it all Jo who runs the accommodation is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. I would highly recommend Flintstone Cottages and look forward to returning there myself and exploring the local area.

Fantastic place

By Adamw0508 on 08-Apr-2018

The Lodge (in fact, the whole place!) is beautiful. The apartment is very comfortable, exceptionally well appointed and looked after - somewhere it is very easy to relax. The kids (all under 5) also loved it - plenty of space to play and have fun, and a comfy sofa to sit and watch a film together. We booked very last minute and Jo couldn’t have been more accommodating. She took the time to talk to us and make sure everything was set up as needed for our early arrival. Jo was there to meet us and made us feel very welcome. What makes the biggest difference is all of the ‘little’ touches - there’s a guide to the property and the local area, which tells you everything you need to know and gives plenty of ideas for things to do. With three small children with us, that was especially helpful! We will definitely be back again, and would highly recommend to others.

By Monique Kelliher on 28-Feb-2018

I booked 4 of the 5 cottages for a friends weekend away and the cottages were perfect. Great to have lots of people in the same place but not necessarily all under one roof. Jo was very helpful in the lead up to our trip and very accommodating during our stay. Would definitely recommend a stay at Flintstone Cottages.

A comfortable, and warm, well appointed, and equipted Lodge.

By Michaelsellors on 30-Jan-2018

We stayed in the Lodge for a long weekend as we were attending a wedding locally. Flintstone Cottages are very attractive, and the Lodge offers very comfortable accommodation. It had everything we needed. Really warm and with comfortable beds. There was a unlimited supply of hot water, which meant that there were no queues for baths or showers. Jo was helpful with directions for shopping etc. Altogether an experience that we hope to repeat.

Nice Venue

By ChazD23 on 19-Jul-2017

We attended this location for a long weekend family break. Beautiful location and accomodation spacious and well equipped. The only negative thing I could say was the train line running behind the properties with trains approximately every 20 minutes until around midnight was quite nosiy of a night time. Also bear in mind the gardens are not enclosed/secure so if you have dogs likely to wonder off then you might be best not taking them. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

By Angelamulligan01 on 08-May-2017

Stayed at this fantastic property for 2 days at the end of April. Great venue for short breaks or longer family holidays as extremely comfortable in a wonderfully contemporary way. Chichester is only a short drive away and within 30 min of beautiful West Wittering beach and Chichester Marina. I would definitely recommend staying here again.

The Ideal Base

By HBDJK2017 on 02-Apr-2017

We booked into Flintstone Cottages for a few days in the run up to our wedding in Chichester back in February. We had not stayed there before - but we couldn't have found a more perfect base! The Lodge was clean, comfortable and incredibly spacious - which was ideal for us, with all our boxes of wedding paraphernalia! The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and ideal for long walks. The owner, Jo, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. With Jo's agreement, we'd arranged for a number of our wedding suppliers to deliver directly to us at the property - and this made the build up to the wedding so much smoother than it would otherwise have been. Our only regret is that we didn't have an opportunity to fully relax and enjoy The Lodge - but we very much hope to be able to return next year to do just that! Whether you're looking for a base near Chichester as we were, or just somewhere peaceful to escape to for a while, we cannot recommend The Lodge more highly.

Nicely appointed

By Tim P on 08-Jan-2017

We booked The Lodge for ourselves, our daughter, partner and toddler for a few days while we were over from the US visiting family. The third bedroom let us invite my brother and his wife to join us. The apartment was great for our purposes; the three bedrooms were more than adequate and there is lots of common space. The kitchen and dining space and facilities were great too -- we ordered take-out from a good local Indian the first night, and cooked the others. Everything we needed was there.

Beautiful property

By Jane J on 15-Oct-2016

We chose Flintstone Cottages as my daughter was getting married at UpWaltham Barns nearby. We booked both the Lodge and the Garden Room (see separate review). They were both lovely properties, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The Lodge is light and airy, with a huge living area and a good kitchen. The beds are comfortable and we enjoyed the walk-in showers. There was plenty of parking space. It's quiet and off the beaten track, but with a petrol station and shop within a few minutes' drive, The owner was very helpful throughout the booking process and during the stay.

Relaxing weekend at The Lodge and The Cottage

By Chris F on 04-Oct-2016

We stayed at The Lodge and The Cottage with a group of 13 for a nearby wedding. We were looking for a hassle-free base to relax between wedding festivities and this place was perfect! Jo met us when we arrived and showed us round the grounds including golf putting green, shared BBQ area and private outdoor dining areas for both cottages. The cottages were very clean, modern and well appointed for cooking for everyone we had staying with us. Jo was helpful throughout the weekend and the security deposit was returned promptly without any issues. Highly recommended!

Flexible and very well equipped

By Keith L on 10-May-2016

We booked the Lodge and 3 other properties at Flintstones for ourselves, family, and friends as accommodation for our daughter's wedding which was taking place at Upwaltham Barns in the same locality. All of the properties at Flintstones are beautifully finished and very well equipped. The Lodge has 3 double bedrooms with the possibility of accommodating 2 more on a sofa bed in the lounge. There are 2 bathrooms, one of which is en suite. We had 2 BBQ's in the grounds for out of town guests with approx. 40 people attending. There was ample space for our guests and their cars and Jo the owner and Steve her assistant could not have been more helpful. Flintstones offers first class self catering accommodation in a lovely area and I would not hesitate in recommending it.

We had a great weekend

By HazelDon92 on 03-Apr-2016

The Lodge is a modern, well equipped, chalet style building. There are windows all along one side & we were lucky enough to have sun streaming in all 3 mornings we were there. The living area is open plan with the kitchen at one end and the lounge with big TV at the other. This worked well when food was being prepared as the person in the kitchen could join in with the chat. There was plenty to do in Chichester and at the coast during a long weekend. Jo was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly go back.

Special birthday celebrated in style at this lovely property

By SAHtraveller on 27-Jan-2016

We hired The Lodge for my brothers birthday for a long weekend for our families and parents - so it needed to work for ages 4 months to 65 years!. The Lodge was a lovely modern house that lent itself well to our celebrations. The fantastic open plan space was perfect for us all to be together, with lots of room for the kids to play. The bedrooms are very comfortable - all with King size beds. Great bathrooms, both with rainforest showers. The Lodge was very clean and looked like new. I'd recommend this as a lovely place to stay!

Fabulous holiday let

By Jeanne C on 24-Aug-2015

We spent a week in the Lodge to explore the local area and visit family. The accommodation could not be faulted and included everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The style and decor is very tasteful and contemporary. The kitchen and bathrooms are finished to a high standard and the beds are large and very, very comfy. The accommodation is suitable for people with limited mobility and children alike and is in an idyllic setting at the end of a lane. A car is essential for exploring the surrounding area and is ideal for those who enjoy the countryside and want a break away from it all!

The lodge is the latest addition of holiday lets to be rented out by flintstone cottage near chichester. Top quality accommodation at a very reasonable price and an ideal base to explore chichester and the surrounding area. Decor was of a very good standard with everything provided to ensure a good break was had by all. Many thanks to Jo for giving us the opportunity to rent such a nice property, we would recommend to anyone who wants a nice peaceful location as a base to explore west sussex.
