Overview
Description
The Cow Shed has been used by family and friends since our last guests left in 2025 and we are only now offering again for holiday bookings. Converted as part of our major renovations, the former Cowshed has been tastefully converted to provide an attractive self-contained cottage in the picturesque Cotswold village of Frampton Mansell, Gloucestershire.Set in a private location within the grounds of Hillcrest Farm it's a perfect choice for couples looking to get-away-from-it-all yet be within easy access of Stroud and Cirencester. Inside, the property features an open-plan living space, thoughtfully arranged for comfort and convenience.
The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and even a washing machine — ideal for longer stays.
The cottage is equally suitable for relaxing in front of the TV or with your latest good book or as a base for the local attractions and activities. Guests are welcome to explore the 15 acres of surrounding paddocks, and there are several scenic walks nearby, including along the old canal path.
Just a short stroll away is the Crown Inn, a traditional pub with good local ales and food. Or work up more of a thirst with a half-hour walk to the Bell at Sapperton or the Daneway Inn.
We are equidistant from the market town of Stroud, known for its independent shops, cafés, galleries, and one of the finest farmers’ markets in the country and Cirencester with its magnificent Church which has its origins in the 12th Century. Or venture further into the Cotswolds to discover postcard-perfect villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Whether you're seeking peaceful walks, local flavours, or a base to explore the wider region, The Cow Shed offers a relaxing and well-positioned retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds.
We welcome small / medium sized dogs (up to 20kg) but ask that they are kept off the furniture and kept on the lead in the paddocks when there are sheep present.
Important note: Access to the Cottage is via a gravelled path and a number of steps so is not suitable for those of limited mobility.
We welcome guests for 3-night weekend breaks Friday - Monday or 4-nights mid week Monday - Friday; both from £480; or a full week (7 nights) from £900. In all cases, check in is from 4pm and check out by 10am.
