Description
Set in a beautiful 4500 estate stretching down to the Solway coast (National Scenic Area), yet only 3 miles from the charming market town of Castle Douglas.This is one of five characterful two-storey houses in the cobbled 1805 stable courtyard of Gelston Castle, each one completely individual inside.
House 1 is one of the two original dwellings in the courtyard, with an original iron fireplace (probably rescued from the castle in the 1950s). Other special features include a bedroom up a further short flight of stairs in the corner “tower” of the courtyard, and a games corner in the sitting room.
The bedrooms, which are among the biggest in the courtyard, are also the most flexible: all three can be configured as either superking doubles or twin beds.
The master bedroom is en-suite; the other two share the main bathroom.
