Description

'Criddlestyle Cottage is within the New Forest National Park but only 1 mile from the pretty riverside town of Fordingbridge. Within walking distance are all the extensive facilities of Sandy Balls New Forest Holiday Village. Woodlands, walks, fishing on the Hampshire Avon, leisure centre, shops and restaurants. There are also many golf courses within close proximity.

The cottage can accommodate up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms. The kitchen is fully fitted with an electric hob & double oven, microwave, full height fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

The 5 bedrooms are on one level within the cottage. Bedroom 1 has a king-size double bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed; bedroom three has adult sized bunk beds and bedroom four has a double bed and en-suite shower room. The fifth bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite shower room.

There is a garden with seating and a BBQ, a play forte with swings and slide along with a trampoline. You also have private access to an ancient woodland with picnic benches near the river. There is also a 4-6 person hot tub in a gazebo with festoon lightening available from £325* (*price before discount.) EV Charging now available please visit our website for more details. An adjoining 2-acre paddock and stables for two horses are available on a DIY basis if you wish to bring your own horse at £100 per horse per week. The paddock adjoins a bridleway which gives access to the National Park.

80 yards of exclusive private fishing on the Hampshire Avon only a few hundred yards from the house. There are 4 good swims suitable for specimen coarse fishing. £75 pp PW or £35 pp for a weekend. Please note that fishing is also available on the adjoining Sandy Balls 1/2 mile stretch of the river.

Welcome pack provided including a bottle of Prosecco, locally produced tutti fruity jam, biscotti biscuits, milk, tea & coffee. Also a discount Go New Forest card to be used locally which can provide discounts when used with participating businesses.

For larger groups why not combine our Mews Hill Sleeps 11 + 2 in the glamping Hut or Riverside Lodge sleeps 4 + 2 in the glamping pod properties located within the same private location. Up to 29 guests can be accommodated and we give a 5% discount for multiple bookings.

We can also offer our VW Camper van "Jessica", she can sleep 2 adults and 2 small children and be parked near the property ( Additional charges will apply and only available in the warmer months)

Family celebration

We had a wonderful family weekend at Mews Hill and Criddlestyle Cottage. The houses are well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for all of us, including a small child and 3 dogs. It was a delight to be able to walk out into the forest, while being conveniently close to shops and takeaway restaurants

Criddlestyle Cottage was perfect for family

Criddlestyle Cottage was perfect for our family visit of 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 10. We appreciated the space for parking our cars and the trampoline & jungle gym in the garden.The barbecue was well used and there was space to sit in the garden. The walk down to the river is excellent. We enjoyed the fact that although everything was clean and tidy it was not so immaculate that we had to worry about living in it and enjoying it with the kids
