Ardchattan is a stone cottage dating back to the 19th century situated on the Fort William road in the Highland region of Lochaber. The property overlooks a stoney beach, Loch Linnhe and the majestic Beinn Bheithir range of mountains.
To the south lie the villages of Ballachulish and famous Glencoe, home to Glencoe ski resort and mountains such as Aonach Eagach and Bidean nam Bian, all within 20 minutes' drive.
Stunning views across Loch Linnhe to the mountains beyond can be seen from the private decking area to the rear of the cottage, which is set within a large garden.
The centrally heated cottage has been renovated and provides comfortable accommodation for 4-6 people, consisting of one double bedroom, a second bedroom with two single beds and a double bed settee in the living room. The kitchen diner is a beautifully converted barn with large Velux windows, stone flooring and exposed stone feature wall. The spacious room is fitted with appliances, including electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave.
The living room boasts views to the front and rear, and offers a cosy environment with wood and coal burning stove, including wall-mounted TV with DVD player. Fast Wi-Fi access is also included, which can be used throughout the property. Well behaved dogs welcome. Please contact owner for details.
The cottage has a fully fitted bathroom with combined bath and shower with toilet and sink, along with a separate small WC.

Very clean and well equipped cottage. Beds only ok. Very busy main road with traffic only a few feet away might be an issue for some we had a great week and enjoyed the lovely situation.
Lovely cottage in a great area

This cottage is immaculately clean, comfortable and smart. Ballachulish makes a brilliant base for a holiday in this area.
Fantastic cottage - great location

We had a fabulous time at Ardchattan.
The cottage was perfect; well equipped, very warm and cosy and a great location. The weather was a mixed bag but that didn’t stop us doing anything; in fact it made the scenery even more stunning as the view was constantly changing.
There is plenty to do here - we particularly enjoyed the passenger ferry from Port Appin to Lismore for a local day out. We weren’t expecting to see sea otters! You do need to note that there isn’t a ferry back at 1pm though else its a long wait for the next one (they run hourly)! Fortunately we did this on a warm sunny day so soaking up the sun and stunning scenery was not a problem!

There has obviously been a considerable amount of thought given to the way this property had been tastefully renovated. The kitchen being our preferred space for the time we spent at Ardchattan Cottage.
Very well equipped and plenty of room to relax & to cook a meal. All other rooms are nicely decorated with the bed in the master bedroom being supremely comfortable. The multi fuel burner in the living room was an added bonus.
Despite the evening chill we did spend some time in the garden sitting and admiring the view from the elevated decking.
The property itself is situated close to the main road between Glencoe & Fort William and despite some traffic noise it did not hinder our sleep after long days walking.
Overall, fantastic accommodation perfectly positioned to explore Glencoe & beyond.
Stunning scenery! Saw lots of wildlife!

Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need for your stay, immaculately clean and very warm. Lovely to walk to hotels in evening from the cottage. Eating out was good value and high quality. We fell in love with Scotland and will be back!

We had a great week away in this lovely cottage. Perfectly situated for Glen Coe and Ben Nevis. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equiped. David, the owner rang us the week before our stay to finalise arrangements and popped by to check we had everything we needed. An excellent choice if you're looking to visit the area.

Fab location for exploring the area by foot or road or water. The cottage is exactly as described and is well maintained, clean , well equipped. Great communication with the owners. No matter the weather or time of day the views are beautiful. Have already reccommended the cottage to family and friends.
This property is excellent!

This cottage has everything in it you could need and space. The décor was lovely, the furnishings were great and the cottage was very clean.
Whilst this property is on the main road into Fort William- there was very little sound from the road heard in the cottage due to the excellent insulation, thick walls and the double glazed windows- so don't let the fact that it is on the road put you off.
The log burner and the heating in the cottage was fantastic and kept us very cosy as the temperature had dropped whilst we were away.
We would certainly recommend this cottage. Thanks for a great stay.
Very clean and cosy.

Perfect accommodation for our family of four. Very clean on arrival and had just about everything we needed for our stay. Lovely views and within walking distance of pubsu002Frestaurants. Highly recommend this property.
fantastic house in great location

This is our second time staying here in 2 years, this time for 7 nights and we would happily have stayed for longer. The owner of the property was again a pleasure to liaise with and was very accommodating when we had to change dates at short notice. The house has been lovingly restored, is well equipped and in such a good location to local attractions. This time we travelled almost daily on the Corran ferry which is a 5 minute drive away, to access other local areas such as Strontian, Acharachle, Castle Tioram, Ardnamurchan, Arisaig, Glenfinnan, Mallaig and more. Fort William is very close by and has an indoor climbingu002Fbouldering centre for wet weather days. There are also several local pubsu002Fhotels that are within walking distance. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to stay again in the near future when we come home to visit family.
