Excellent
By Justyne N on 03-Jun-2026What a wonderful stay in Patna Cottage. The cottage is extremely cosy, comfortable and had everything for a pleasant stay. The welcome pack was really appreciated and the beautiful flowers on the table was a lovely gesture. The village had a real community feel about it and the neighbours were so friendly and helpful. The walks around the surrounding area were amazing. We will definitely return to the is wonderful part of Yorkshire. Reviewer location - Kent UK Date of arrival - 23 May 2026
The Dale
By Tony Welly on 24-Apr-2026The Yorkshire Dales! I could stop there, but, this is a perfect cozy cottage for an adventure in the Dales. Two-minute walk to a pub with a room overlooking the Dales and they have a great chef and food. Keld is located right on the coast-to-coast walk, so if you like to have a drink and amazing conversations with these walkers, the Pub (Keld Lodge) is the place. So many local walks (Foot Paths) and some are circular with amazing views. If you like to cook, as I do, the kitchen is perfect and has everything you need to make you breakfast and evening Tea. You might get a visit from the sheep at your window in the sitting room or maybe some pheasants. Hawes and the Wensley Dale Creamery is just south of Keld. The Tan Hill Inn is very close. There is a breakfast and lunch restaurant just next to the Pub if you do not want to cook. This is James Herriot country, Askrigg (Skeldale House) is just a few miles away. I hope to make it back.
Perfect cottage & location
By Richard T on 19-Apr-2025Review Perfect cottage and location. We enjoyed a wonderful week at Patna Cottage. There was a lovely welcome pack from the owners consisting of cake, biscuits, a lovely bottle of wine and even milk in the fridge! Fresh flowers in every room. The cottage was warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need. Wifi is very good too. The rear of the cottage overlooks a field and it was amusing to see the sheep and lambs coming to the window every day. We were lucky enough to actually see three lambs being born from the living room window. We even have a photo of a lamb sucking my finger through the open window!. Keld is a perfect location for exploring the Dales. It is very quiet and a dark skies area. Lovely walks from the cottage and stunning scenery in any direction you drive. There are good food pubs in Muker and Gunnerside nearby. We will certainly be staying here again.
