Description
Enjoying a tranquil position on the banks of the river eden, this spacious cottage is comfortably furnished and well maintained. Situated within 100 acres of the owners land around which visitors are free to roam, it is fronted by a garden with slide and sandpit. An excellent base for walking the eden valley, the pennine hills and the beautiful howgill fells, it is also central for the Lake District and the Yorkshire dales. Golf courses close by at Appleby and Ravenstonedale . Kirkby stephen just two miles away has everday shops and dining facilities. And just a few miles along a scenic route is the town of hawes with its cobbled streets and antigue shops. (hawes creamery well worth a visit) One small well behaved dog welcome ( £20 per week charge).35 Reviews

By Jean Wheadon on 26-Oct-2024We have just had a really good holiday with our son , daughter in law , granddaughter and dog . A lovely spacious well equipped cottage within the owners fields , great for our dog to run around when not being grazed by sheep , otherwise kept on a lead . Many places to visit and walks within reasonable driving distance . Very cosy evenings with the solid fuel burner , but central heating if you don't want to use it . 2 televisions if needed . Very helpful , and warm welcome from owner Sandra , we can highly recommend .
Great place to stay
By Jill Anscombe on 23-Sep-2023Very comfortable house in a peaceful location. Helpful owners who live next door. Only a mile from Kirby Stephen with all the amenities, and 40 mins from the eastern Lakes where there is plenty of excellent walking. We love our stays here and have visited many times.

Blanswath - Near Kirby Stephen
By Sandra on 08-Oct-2022We loved our stay at Blanswath. The house is huge - Lots and lots of space, unbelievable clean - kitchen was very well equipped with all mod cons. Loved the huge the pantry - cosy log burner and plenty of fuel. Wonderful views and very peaceful - a good place to stay if you want to recharge your batteries. Lots of walks and places to explore. Can't think of any minuses. Thank you Sandra and Mick for letting us stay in your lovely house - we hope to return soon.

Peacefull and cozy
By John Lee on 24-Sep-2022The cottage was so comfey and cozy , the house its self is huge , with amazing views from every window , the owners are on hand if needed but without intruding , so if its a peacefull week your after this is the place
