Description
With its face looking out on the River Wye, and it’s back to the Royal Forest of Dean, River Wye Lodge is the perfect large group self catering holiday accommodation in the Forest of Dean or Wye Valley. We’ve converted this country inn to provide the space, location and facilities to ensure that you have a genuinely memorable holiday. Great for groups of friends, families, reunions, celebrations, activitiy holidays or simply relaxing in stunning surroundings.
There’s more than enough space to sleep 26 in 12 bedrooms, (10 ensuite) including a ground floor en suite disabled twin room. The large atmospheric lounge has a wood burner, satellite TV, DVD player and music system, while the dining room comfortably accommodates 26 round the table.
On site, there’s plenty to keep everybody amused: a children’s games room with table tennis, pool, table football, a hot tub to unwind after a day out, a children’s playground; a barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating where you can chill and watch the River Wye slowly wind its way down to Symonds Yat.
On the edge of the village of Lydbrook nearby facilities are superb: five minutes walk will take you to a country pub, an organic cafe, an Indian restaurant , a canoe launch, and the Wye Valley Way for fantastic walking from our large group self catering holiday accommodation.
Five minutes drive will take you into the heart of the Forest of Dean with its staggering array of activities for people of every age and interest. If that’s not enough, you’re only 10 minutes drive from Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Coleford and Monmouth for shopping and dining out.
This beautiful coaching inn provides perfect 12 bedroomed self catering holiday accommodation for 26 people ,fully equipped to eat, sleep, and dine together.
A huge sitting room with woodburner and an adjacent bar/lounge means there’s room to seat everyone comfortably and the whole group can eat together at one table in the dining room looking over the River Wye. We think you’ll agree that River Wye Lodge has charm to spare in a stunning setting. Big and comfy, with loads of space for kids and pets it’s simply ideal for a truly relaxed holiday break.
River Wye Lodge has everything you need to enjoy a comfortable relaxing break. The two linked kitchens are fully equipped with 3 hobs, 3 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridge/freezers, microwave oven, and all necessary crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. The dining room comfortably accommodates up to 26 people round one table.
There is a large sitting room with a wood burning stove and a linked bar lounge with bay windows overlooking the River Wye.
It would be hard to match the bedroom accommodation at River Wye Lodge – 9 of the 12 bed rooms have stunning views of the Wye, 10 of them are ensuite, with all new shower rooms, and one is sited on the ground floor, for the less able or simply those who don’t like stairs.
On site there’s terraces overlooking the glorious river, a large side patio with barbecues and seating, ample dining furniture for outdoor celebrations and of course the covered hot tub sat high up in the garden to the rear on its own deck. For children there’s a large paved area to the front for games as well as a playground. The entire site is fenced or walled to a metre high to ensure the safety of children and pets.

River Wye Lodge
By Diana on 25-Sep-2024Only there for the weekend and plenty to do on site so didn’t have any days out Everything was ideal for our stay of 16 adults and 9 children. We did not realise from the floor plan that bedrooms 11 and 12 were an annexe and could not be accessed from the main building. However a quick re allocation of rooms once we got there solved this easily.
