5 bedroom, 2 bathroom, sleeps a maximum of 8
This delightful Georgian cottage (Visit England 4 star rating), is one of a picturesque row close to the church and overlooking a quiet square. It is very warm, comfortable and well equipped. Charming enclosed garden and separate annexe sleeping further 3 people. One of the best locations in Lyme; choice of two totally different beaches- one famous for fossils, each only 2/3 minutes walk. Shops just around the corner.
'Appletrees' is gas centrally heated and provided with everything you will need in the way of bed linen, towels, duvets, pans, crockery and cutlery. In the kitchen there is a 4 ring gas hob and built-in electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The spacious dining area with long table and bench seats is open through to the lounge, where ample comfortable seating and a Smart 43" 4K TV creates a cosy family room. A door leads upstairs to bedrooms, bathroom and garden. The pretty patio garden is fully enclosed and is, equipped with table, chairs, benches and a pretty arbour with further seating.
Across the garden the 'boathouse' comprises of a double bedroom (with zip and link king-size bed and 32" Smart TV), a single bedroom, shower and laundry.
Lyme Regis is a lovely little town with something for everyone. Apart from the attractions of beach, harbour, pubs, cliff top rambles and golf course, the town itself is full of picturesque buildings and little alleyways. Close to 'Appletrees' runs the river, on its way through the town. Here you will meet Lyme's other residents - ducks!
With regard to being 'suitable for elderly or infirm' please contact the owner. If you wish to bring a pet - contact the owner Water softener. Welcome pack. Smoking allowed in the garden only. We provide a Parking Permit for a local Council Car Park (5 mins walk away).
Lovely, quirky cottage right in the middle of town, Lyme Regis is a great little place to visit. Will definitely visit again and try and stay in the cottage again.
Lovely cottage with everything you could need for a lovely stay in Lyme Regis. Perfectly central to everything and great communication with the host
Great location. Quirky, well equipped home from home.
5/5
Chose this excellent self-catering cottage for a short break to get away after the Covid Siege. This property deserves it's 5 stars: clean and tidy, well equipped, central location and all the rest. Very nice! and definitely recommended for a stay in Lyme.
A perfect property ideal for families or friends to get away to. Extremely convenient location and no issues with checking in or out!
Lovely place; highly recommended.
The property is excellently located and fitted out with everything you need. My family had a very comfortable stay on a half-term break fossil-hunting.
Central, comfortable, attractive, well equipped. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lyme Regis. The property was excellent.
Appletrees is a perfect spot to stay in Lyme Regis. Close to the town centre and some great places to eat. Would recommend it and hope to go back to visit again
We enjoyed a lovely holiday at Appletrees. It is a very comfortable and welcoming cottage and we all felt very “at home”. The gift of wine and fudge was much appreciated and it was ghood to have basic provisions i.e. milk on arrival. We were blessed with super weather, so enjoyed time in the enclosed and private garden. There is plenty of room for dining outside (and a good washing line). The gas bbq was excellent. We felt all the facilities were excellent – plenty of hot water, a good laundry room and well equipped kitchen. Also the provision of a parking space for the week. Already booked for next year.
A wonderful week, we particularly love the outdoor area. The location is perfect and the bedrooms very spacious and comfortable. Thank you.
Wonderful all around location, weather and Appletrees. Enjoyed it every day – thanks for a great place to stay. See you again.
Fantastic time here again, weather perfect, ideal stay for the grandchildren.
Ten out of ten house location, even the weather. Hope to come again Fab! Had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us all.
Really great place. Thank you Charles, we had a lovely time. The house was very comfortable and everything was so well organised from beginning to end. We hope to stay here again.
Lovely cottage in great location. We stayed here three years ago, it was nice to come back. Love the improvements to the annex and the garden.
What an amazing cottage to stay in. We had a lovely time, we were right in the best location and our hosts were great. Made us welcome and comfortable. Thanks! We hope to be back.
A lovely week away. The cottage is in a perfect location and the weather has been kind. I am sure we will be back soon. Many thanks.
Thank you Liz and Charles, we had a lovely weekend away, the cottage is lovely, the weather was gorgeous, the best the seaside place we have ever been to. Amazing place.
What a lovely cottage you have. Fabulous location. We have had a lovely weekend at Appletrees.
Another lovely week at Appletrees – Thank you very much. Great cottage and so much to do right from the door. We recommend the cream teas at the Black Dog, lovely walk, amazing scones.
Thank you so much, we’ve had another wonderful week’s break here. We always have fantastic weather for our New Year break. The cottage has been very comfortable and suited our needs. Lovely to see the photo in the corner too. All the very best for the year ahead and hope you have a very successful season.
Really clean beautiful cottage, plenty of room and lovely garden. 5 mins walk to the beach, perfect location.
As a group of single, (almost) middle aged adults, this was the perfect property for us with plenty of rooms and space for us all to enjoy time together and apart and the same could be said for families too. The large outside space is a real joy and very versatile with both covered and uncovered seating areas. The property has the added bonus of being at the bottom of the hill and for those of you who know Lyme Regis, it's always easier to go downhill at the end of the day! We would all recommend this property.
We travelled down to celebrate a family member's 50 birthday in his home town and with his family.
The property I has some original features that capture its history. It is well looked after and set among the houses that lead down to the sea & picturesque beach. We were a party of 7 and there was plenty of accommodation. All the beds were fresh and clean and all the facilities ready for us to use as a family. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful and personable. We had a very enjoyable short stay and would be happy to go back there soon
We really enjoyed our stay here. The High Street and the coast are 5 minutes walk away, the locals are really friendly and the house has everything you need. There were 7 of us staying here and just enough room for everyone. The annex space out back has been designed really well to give a very large double room with a huge and very comfortable bed which we struggled to leave every morning!
Our first visit to Lyme Regis was a great experience. Three generations together enjoying a seaside holiday. Appletrees was only a 5 minute walk from the seafront. The beach was very clean and had lifeguards onsite, the children, even grandma, loved playing on the sand and in the sea. The nearby attractions of fossil hunting; tram rides and Pecorama were great days out. Appletrees is a lovely welcoming cottage, the owner Charles is extremely helpful and we hope to return again soon

We stayed at Appletrees for one week and had a lovely stay. The house was very homely, comfortable and the facilities are to a very high standard. Appletrees is in the perfect location. We parked the car at the beginning of the holiday and didn't need to use it until it was time to come home. The house is ideally situated for a short walk to the beach and town main street. The patio garden we found was a great space to sit and chill in the evening. Having holidayed quite a few times in Lyme Regis I would say Appletrees comes at the top of my list of places to stay in the town. We would love to hire the house again in the future because there's lots to do in lovely Lyme.

Well appointed centrally located
Provides plenty of accommodation with a secluded garden. Welcome pack was much appreciated.

I couldn't have found anything more perfect than Appletrees for myself & my other half to take my dad away on a well needed respite. It ticked all the boxes, thank you.
Date of Stay: May 2018
We really enjoyed our stay, despite the variable weather. Appletrees is a perfect location in a beautiful, relaxing place that is Lyme Regis, Love walking down to the seafront etc. Everything that we needed for our stay had been thought of and provided for us in the house and we loved the garden and made use of the gas barbecue (all enclosed garden so safe for our dog too!) Thank you very much!
Fantastic.
Facilities are brilliant
Cleanliness is super
Location is fabulous
Ideal location for a relaxing home-from-home family holiday. Very comfortable and well equipped.
Although the occasion for us visiting Lyme was a sad one (we were attending the funeral of a dear family friend) our three-night stay at Appletrees was extremely enjoyable, it offered the perfect base for us to all be together as a family and make happy memories despite the sad reason for our visit. The property is in a perfect location, with gorgeous shops and galleries down each of the pretty streets leading off from it. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away, about 10 mins for the Cob - extremely impressed with the location of this property and its close proximity to everything you could need during your visit. Lovely choice of restaurants, cafes, pubs and takeaways nearby also. The property itself is full of character, very tastefully decorated and has all the mod cons you could possibly want and then some! Having the annex is a lovely touch and offers extra space and privacy. The owner was also incredibly helpful providing us with lots of information and happily replied to my emails with any questions I had during our stay. Thank you for sharing Appletrees with us! We hope to visit again as a family and stay for longer next time! :)
My Response
Thank you Roseanne, You and your family will always be most welcome. Best wishes, Charles and Liz
Beautiful family feel to this extensive and well appointed cottage. We entertained friends including a young family across our 7 days and found the boat house space really useful to this end. Plenty of everything that is important from crockery to seating to games and books. Would recommend to all, best cottage yet in our four years of coming to Lyme.
Response
Dear Louise, Many thanks for your kind review and we look forward to welcoming you again. All the very best wishes for 2018 Charles
"Clean, Comfortable, great location to beach - I would highly recommend this cottage"
Hi Charles,
We are back from a super weekend in Lyme Regis and feeling relaxed. The weather was very kind to us.
Appletrees never fails to feel like home from home in one of our favourite places. The new fire in the sitting room was most welcome after a sunny but cold and windy walk along the Cobb.
The annex is looking superb, Josh commented that it was hardly recognisable. A lovely space. In warmer weather I'm sure we would have made use of the Arbour.
We hope to stay again soon.
Kind regards
Judith
A lovely cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable stay, everything was as described could not fault anything
Thank you for a wonderful week's holiday. The cottage was perfect for our needs and the location is excellent. The brownies and the wine were much appreciated and we had a great time exploring the area
We love Lyme Regis and are delighted to have found the ideal holiday home to stay in (especially as they accept pets). The property itself is suitable for a large family, with plenty of beds, great facilities and a lovely outdoor space for when the sun is shining. It's location is ideal for all the amenities Lyme Regis has to offer, we didn't need to use our car for the whole week!! The owners were extremely helpful with lots of information prior to our stay and were easily contactable should you require it. We would highly recommend and cannot wait to stay there again.
Ideal beachside cottage full of charm and character. Owners, provide lots of useful information and very friendly communication.
We had a wonderful holiday in this lovely cottage, which is situated in a tucked-away location just off the sea-front. The cottage is thoughtfully appointed, and the kitchen has lots of little extras which make it feel like a home-from-home rather than a holiday let. There is a pretty courtyard garden at the back, which is nice to sit in or have a barbecue in. Lyme Regis is full of pretty side streets, courtyards and interesting shops and galleries to visit, and a good selection of cafes and restaurants. There is a nice shop just around the corner from the cottage with beautifully made silver jewellery, where I couldn't resist buying a ring. It is worth mentioning that the someone unsure of their footing might find the stairs a little tricky, and also that it is necessary to park the car in a car park nearby (permit provided, so no cost). However if that is not a problem then you will not regret booking this cottage for a holiday or short break. We had a wonderful time!
What a fabulous place to wile away a few days... Warm, comfortable and full of character. A party of 6 adults and we brought along our 2 year old and 4 year old nieces and a little dog - suffice to say we were all very comfortable and the property lent itself beautifully to nanny and grandad having their own space in the annexe! 2 minute walk to the beach and shops, we couldn't believe how fabulous the location would be! AMAZING breakfast served up at the bakery a 30 second walk away, and endless beach for the girls to play on safely while the grown ups put the world to rights in one of the many beach side pubs and cafes. I cannot recommend this little gem highly enough, we were very warmly greeted by Charles who ensured we knew where everything was and that we had everything we could possibly need. We are already thinking about when we can come back !!! Thank you Charles, from Madeleine and the rest of the Hills
