New Cottage was a wonderful place to stay for our walking holiday
By James on 05-Jun-2026Five of us thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cosy and compact cottage. It’s in an ideal location for cliff walking and the beach is just a few minutes away. The beds were very comfortable and the open plan kitchen/diner/living room was big enough to allow us to socialise together while cooking, eating or playing board games, or just sit on our own reading. Some of the evenings were unseasonally chilly so it was great to have the wood burner with a plentiful supply of wood. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage for all kinds of families or groups of friends
A Cornish dream
By Alex on 29-May-2026We all adored our stay at New Cottage! We have two young children and the set up was ideal for us. Mawgan Porth has everything we needed locally for a few days’ stay - we particularly enjoyed going for a surf with friends of ours on the beach a short walk away, and the stunning views from the coastal path! The kids loved exploring the cottage gardens, the nearby playground with trampolines, rock pools, caves on the beach and trying mussels for the first time. Apparently there is an indoor pool a short walk away too, but we had such great weather during our visit we didn’t try it. We found the cottage itself very cosy and relaxing. The bedrooms are pretty spacious and everything was clean. We’d love to come again, it’s a really special place.
Just wonderful
By Clare W on 15-Jun-2015Our stay here was just wonderful! With a 10min walk to the beach (we had a toddler, so it may be faster!), we spent a very happy week here. The property is well equipped and of high standard. It was clean and well cared for. Leading up to our stay the owner contacted us to make sure we knew where everything would be. I would highly recommend this cottage, not only for the location and the quality of where we stayed, but on the care and attention shown to us by the owner. We look forward to coming back next year!!!
Amazing as ever
By Lou H on 16-Oct-2016All amazing as ever, we've had a brilliant time, hopefully back in the summer.
Welcome woodburner
By Nadia Thornhill on 24-Jun-2017My husband, our two year old daughter and I stayed in New cottage for three nights in early June. The cottage was beautiful, immaculately clean, and there was even a fire built for us in the wood burner so we just had to light it and relax on the first evening. The kitchen was fully equipped; there was even baby plates and cutlery, and the owners had left us a lovely bottle of red wine on the dining table as a treat. The beds are comfy and the black out blinds were amazing and meant we slept so well! There is a cot and high chair so we didn't need to bring ours from home which was so helpful. The cottage has a pretty garden, use of a ping pong table, swings and zip wire, and the local beach is 10 minutes walk or 3 mins drive. There's several good restaurants, a fish and chip shop, a grocery store and some cafes within walking distance too, although the hill is steep on the walk home! The cottage is perfectly located for visiting the Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan and close to Newquay, Padstow and many other lovely beaches. We highly recommend this cottage and hope to stay there again soon
