Milngavie is not only a lovely, pedestrianised village but also embarkation point for the famous West Highland Way. Can’t Recommend This Place Enough.

By Michael on 07-May-2026

Recently co-organised a stag do at Pleasant Hill for 19 of us (well, for one of us, but you get what I mean!), and it really couldn’t have been much better. Even with such a big group, the place felt roomy and never cramped, with plenty of table space for getting everyone fed or stuck into a few games. The location is a winner too; it’s easy enough to get into Glasgow on the train (about 30 mins), but Milngavie also had a few pubs and amenities nearby too. We were a bit worried about the noise, but the soundproofing inside is top-tier; we had the music up pretty loud, pretty late, and it was never an issue at all. We did manage to get a bit rowdy outside late on, but that was totally on us and was easily sorted with no fuss. Chris was a great host, always happy to help out with any issues, like pointing us in the right direction for a decent hike or showing us how to turn the heating down when Glasgow was inexplicably hot: it was very much a "taps-aff" weekend when we went! If you’ve got a big group heading to Scotland, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Had An Amazing Time Here For My Friend’s Stag Do. Would Recommend To Any Big Groups

Highly Recommend This Place If You’re Looking To Spend Time With Large Groups Of People

By Michelle on 30-Apr-2026

A Perfect Getaway with a Spacious Home, Incredible Host, and Great Kitchen! I recently stayed at this holiday home, and I can’t recommend it enough. First off, the space was just amazing, The open-plan layout made everything feel airy and inviting, and we never felt cramped, even with a large group. The living areas are spacious, and the bedrooms were also thoughtfully designed for ultimate comfort. We had plenty of room to relax, and the high ceilings added a real sense of openness. What really stood out, though, was the host Chris From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Chris gave great local recommendations, and was always available to assist without being intrusive. His warmth and attention to detail truly made our stay memorable. In addition, the kitchen was fully equipped with all the essential cooking facilities you could ask for. Whether we were whipping up a quick breakfast or preparing a full dinner, everything we needed was there – from pots and pans to utensils and appliances. It was such a bonus to be able to cook our own meals in such a spacious, well-organized kitchen. The outdoor area was also perfect for evening relaxation, with a beautiful garden and plenty of seating to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The location was ideal – a quiet retreat with easy access to local amenities. All in all, this holiday home offers everything you could ask for – spaciousness, comfort, and a host who truly cares about creating a memorable experience. The kitchen was the cherry on top! I would highly recommend this place, if your looking to spend time with large groups of people or simply just wanting to relax.

We Were A Stag Of 19, And This Accommodation Was Perfect

By Gregory on 07-May-2026

We were a stag of 19, and this accommodation was perfect. It's ideally located with easy access to the city as well as the Lowlands and Highlands. It's very easy to get to with a train station and a large Tesco 3 minutes away. Chris and Frances were amazing, answering all our (sometimes stupid) questions and helping with logistics to make sure we had the best possible weekend. We were also welcomed with a freshly baked batch of homemade brownies, which was a lovely touch.

I booked pleasant hill for a stag do and I have never had a simpler experience dealing with a host before. Chris was a gentleman, answered all my questions, was more than accommodating and really went above and beyond to make sure the guys had a great time. House was immaculate and I wouldn’t hesitate booking again.
