This beautifully converted Welsh Chapel is located in the middle of the seaside village of Morfa Bychan, with unobstructed views of Porthmadog golf course and Moel y Gest with just a 5 mins walk to Black Rock Sands beach. Situated on the coast between Porthmadog and Criccieth. Ideally situated for exploring Snowdonia national park and the Lynn peninsula. Fully renovated to a modern high standard in 2013.
Fabulous spacious cottage, close to beach, pet friendly.
By Lbarnett2017 on 31-Jul-2019
The location could not be better, close to the beach and Porthmadog town. Ample parking with a patio seating area. The cottage is spacious upstairs and down. The furniture is comfortable, including the beds! Large dining table which can easily seat 8. An ideal holidayrental for a large family, with space for drying wetsuits etc. The owner is a delight to deal with which is why we have returned for the past three years, and would return again.
Excellent location, lovely chapel conversion

Left on Jul 14, 2019 for a stay in Jul 2019
Perfect location for lovely beach and coastal walks, with mountain walks only a short drive away. Property is excellent for either 2 couples or young families and ideal for those with a dog. Alan was very helpful and accommodating with prompt replies to emails. Hopefully we can return again soon.

The contact with owner was good. The accommodation was comfortable and spacious. We were surprised there was no visitors book with useful information or operating instructions for cooker which is found in most holiday rentals. A hairdryer would have been useful. We had a lovely time with fantastic weather.

Before we started our trip to Wales I had various correspondence with Alan who was very helpful and provided us with all of the information for a confident journey. The Chapel was easy to find and had ample parking plus a nice outside space with picnic table. Upon entry we were very happy with the cleanliness and layout - the living and eating areas were nicely defined yet open plan. The kitchen is very well equipped. We used the cooker, microwave & washing machine several times and all were in good working order and easy to use. We also used the WiFi and TV, having no problems with connectivity etc. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom functional. The location makes a great base for exploring the many activity centres, mines and other areas of interest within an hours drive. Black Rock Sands beach is just a short walk away too and simply stunning. We look forward to returning.

By Lynn on 27-Nov-2018
My daughter booked this wonderful place for us all to celebrate a 65th birthday with the grandchildren and their dogs. Everything was very clean, spacious, comfortable and modern with a wonderful well equipped kitchen The renovation & decor is fab, excellent wifi, even books, DVDs and games provided. Porthmadog is a wonderful location & very special to us and to find such a lovely place, within 10 mins walk to the beach was an added bonus. There is a lovely fish & shop and local shop 5 mins away. Will definitely be back - would highly recommend.

Ozzie ( our dog) loved the beach. It was close to amenities and had everything that we needed. A perfect location for visiting the coastline.
Wonderful stay :-)
By Katie on 13-Aug-2018
North Wales is in our hearts, we got married here, so we were delighted to find such a lovely property to stay at. We stayed in August in peak holiday season but found the property to be quiet and only a 10 minute walk from Black Rock Sands. Our 2 and 4 year olds LOVED looking through the upstairs windows at the golfers or playing guess which colour car next. It was a perfect base to explore the area. We spent a few days at Harlech beach, went to Anglessey, and visited a few family friendly places- Greenwood and Gypsy wood. Also managed to do the Welsh Highland Railway trip to Festignog. We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather. sure we will visit the property again as it had everything we needed :-)

Great Accommodation, with a very helpful owner. Clean, comfy beds, all of the things you need. Close to the beautiful, unspoilt beach & easy reach of Porthmadog. Great base for exploring Snowdonia....
Convenient and comfortable

This thoughtfully converted chapel was clean and well equipped. A short walk from the extensive beach at Black Rock Sands and a short drive from all the facilities of Porthmadog, this made a great base for a short break in N Wales.
Great value for money

We were all Impressed by the quality of the accommodation, good sized 2 bedrooms I for 2 people, 1 for 3 people Spotlessly clean Alan the owner very approachable by text or phone 10 minutes walk from the beach , 5 mins from the shops and chippy - off road parking at the rear Good value for my young family recommended
Ideal accommodation in convenient location
By Kss45 on 14-Feb-2018
The chapel was perfect for two of us and dog, in a convenient location for easy access to beach, town and country attractions. The accommodation was very comfortable and warm, important as we stayed in very cold winter weather, with very clean, attractive decor and facilities.
Superb home from home

Booked a last minute break To Gest Melvyn. Perfect! Beautiful Black Rock Sands only a 5 minute walk away. House warm, comfortable, well stocked and spotlessly clean. We took our dog in his first ever hols and it was very pet friendly. Tesco’s etc in Porth Madog too. Great communication with Alan too.

This was lovely accommodation really clean and close to the beach. Our son and me enjoyed sitting in the bedroom window watching the golfers
Perfect holiday let
By Tiff on 22-Aug-2017
The location is right by our favourite beach black rock so that was a good start. It's lovely from the outside just as nice on the inside. The windows upstairs are a great feature. Parking is good plenty of space. All you need is in the house. It's like a home away from home. Kids settled there straight away. The views are beautiful out the front. Many times we caught the kids sat in our room watching the golf. The shops are local all very handy and a Tesco's just up the road also Aldi and Lidl. Habour not far for a nice evening walk. Would definitely stay again.
Comfortable cottage - 5 mins from a glorious beach
By 25degc on 24-Jul-2017
Cottage was ideal for the 3 of us. Everything worked well, and the electricity meter didn't eat up as much money as we feared (so long as you remember to turn the water off!). The nearby beach was amazing, and the location was great for accessing Snowdonia - Ceod y Brenin, Surf Snowdonia, Velocity Zip World, Cearnafon, Harlech were all trips we made. It would be good if there were some instructions for the oven (though we worked it out in the end), and maybe a visitors book for recommendations for local excursions, restaurants etc. Some drawers in the bedrooms and a shelf in the bathroom would be useful additions...
Couldn't be better
By Martin on 20-Jun-2017
This is the second time we have stayed. This time the whole family came (and Sammy the dog) so we booked Gest Melyn and the adjoining property. As before we found the properties absolutely spotless. You could have eaten off the floors. The accommodation is great, the position could not be better. The Owner has thought of everything with ample utensils, plates, glasses and even games. It is such a great place to stay. A massive sandy beach is a short walk away. The local shop is 100 meters away. It a good centre for exploring. I think you get my drift. Can't think of a bad word to say about it. We are already looking at dates for next year.
Fabulous house, very spacious and great location
By LightPacker713233 on 04-Jun-2017
We went with a family of 5 and a dog . Plenty of space for all of us, bedrooms big and comfy beds. Lots of games to play if you want to and plenty of info regarding information around the area. Large kitchen diner and lounge.
Lovely stay in
By Burnsey2607 on 04-Jun-2017
We booked both cottages for two families plus a small dog. The renovations made to the properties are well thought-out and sympathetic. There are modern appliances and the internet/TV worked well in an area where mobile signals are weak. Convenient location and easy to find and are approx 30 mins drive to the car park for Pyg Tack on Snowdon. Each cottage can comfortably sleep 5 people and there is parking for 2-3 cars easily. We would book either/both again and would recommend them to others.
Functional holiday let in an idealic spot
By Karl818 on 16-Jan-2017
Stayed here over the Christmas period for four nights. Just outside Porthmadog in a small village within walking distance of Black Rock Sands. The property was clean and tidy and well presented. The kitchen/dining/living area is functional and easy to keep clean. Upstairs, the two bedrooms are cosy with plenty of windows making it light and airy. One room is a double the other is a twin with a third bed at one end. Take plenty of one and two pound coins as everything is electric and you use a coin fed meter. Once you get the place warmed up the electric usage calms down and you find you don't use as much money in the meter. There is a large supermarket in walking distance which is very handy. Also a chippy, however this was closed until March 2017. Plenty of places to go walking from the holiday let, the beach is wonderful. There is also a golf course across the road. On the morning of our departure the cleaners were next door, getting it ready for the next lot of guests. Incidentally, you can hire both holiday lets for larger family or groups as there is a lockable door that connects the two lets from inside. On the whole, an enjoyable stay. It would be good though if the owners provided an info pack on the place as there are a lot of switches dotted around for you to use before certain things like the towel rail, hot water and cooker hob can be used.
