Now to the cottage! -
The perfect place if you love walking, nature, chilling out, good food pubs and like to be away from it all but not too remote. You can even book a massage in the cottage to complete your relaxing stay!

Moonseeker is a traditional stone and cob shippon, full of character and recently converted with great care & attention to detail.
he cottage sleeps up to 4 people in 2 ensuite bedrooms (one can be a twin) and is just 5 minutes drive from Dartmoor National Park & the market town of Okehampton. It is set in a secluded location, away from main roads, down a farm track, which is sometimes a bit bumpy, fine in a normal car but please go slowly.
The front of Moonseeker looks over the colourful farmhouse garden and pond, which used to be the farmyard.
This cottage offers a high degree of privacy, is not overlooked and has its own fully enclosed and well screened back garden with table and chairs, decking and lawned area and a BBQ to take advantage of the sheltered evenings. The garden backs onto a field where sheep and lambs may be grazing, and enjoys views to Dartmoor and some spectacular sunsets as it is South West facing.
This is a wonderful, central base for exploring Devon and Cornwall, with the coast just a 40 minute drive. The market town of Okehampton, with its spectacular castle ruins, is 5 minutes away, and has all the facilities you need including a cinema, some independent shops, restaurants, pubs, vegan café and 3 supermarkets - Waitrose, Co-op and Lidl. We even have a pub just 5 minutes drive away with a Michelin chef! And it welcomes pets in the bar!!

Very well behaved dogs are welcome at £25 each, but please read the terms on our website before booking to make sure this property is suitable for your pet.

Children 8 years and over and babes in arms welcome.

The usual changeover day is Friday. Out-of-season short breaks are available and changeover can usually be any day of the week.

KITCHEN: Plenty of room for 4 people to sit around the farmhouse table, a range-style gas cooker with 2 ovens and 8 burners - no need to fight over who does the cooking as you can all join in! There is a dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer and washing machine, espresso coffee maker, microwave, toaster, stove top kettle and plenty of glasses, crockery & cutlery. The kitchen is handmade from brick and oak, with granite worksurfaces.

LOUNGE: In the lounge is a woodburner (first basket of logs supplied free) and leather armchairs and sofa. The large TV has a DVD player and if you want to play your favourite music there is a Pure Contour D1 digital radio with Apple dock - you can connect non-Apple devices via the auxilary port.

Just inside the main entrance is a small downstairs cloakroom - in a slightly medieval style!

BEDROOMS: The cottage has 2 ensuite bedrooms upstairs, one with a 5ft king size bed, the other with a 6 ft SuperKing zip and link with topper to ensure you won't feel the zip down the middle, as this bed can be made into twin beds on request. Both ensuites have power showers and we supply hand towels and bath towels (1 each per person). The beds are good quality Hypnos and have underbed storage for luggage. Pillows are hollowfibre. Hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms - along with a torch in each dressing table. The bedrooms are separated from each other by a 'bridge'.

As well as a woodburner Moonseeker has underfloor heating throughout. WiFi, suitable for catching up with emails and browsing the internet, is also available throughout the cottage.

OUTSIDE: The garden is enclosed on all sides by fencing and a wall. This is a lovely place to sit under the sun umbrella at the table watching the wildlife and birds go by, or just sunset watch while someone takes charge of the BBQ. As there is often livestock in the field beyond the garden we ask guests who bring pets to be particularly vigilant in keeping their pets under control. To the front of the property is a small fenced area.

PARKING: There is under cover parking for 2 vehicles a short walk away from the cottage (you can park nearer for loading/unloading purposes). Particularly useful for keeping the car cool in hot weather and no need to de-ice it in the winter!

Whilst you are enjoying your holiday, you may wish to complete your rest and relaxation with a massage from our visiting therapist. These are very reasonably priced for an hours treatment and include Indian Head Massage, deep tissue massage, aromatherapy massage and facials. Enquire when booking.

A stunning home from home

By Mouseyali on 03-Nov-2020

Moonseeker is a secluded cottage away from the hustle and bustle. As soon as you enter the drive the grounds of the main house are strikingly tranquil; the walk past the sunken garden leading to your own gate is lovely. Even at night sensor light come and are adequate to light the way. The cottage is stunning and a true home from home, we now happily add our name to the list of people who would like to live here, the cottage is exactly like the pictures. Every small detail has been catered for and the milk, apple juice and flapjacks a welcome treat on arrival. The beds are so comfortable, sleep was restful and added to the relaxing environment. Highly recommended.

Impressive quality & spotlessly clean

By Andy on 09-Oct-2020

We were impressed with the quality of the property, its fixtures and appliances. It was also spotlessly clean. Nicky was on hand and available for any queries. We also found the location ideal for walks nearby - Belstone was a great place to get onto the moor and a couple of minutes by car.

Beautifully renovated property

By Emma on 29-Aug-2020

Lovely property. Beautifully renovated. There is a small enclosed garden which is perfect for a glass of wine and for a dog! Parking spot right next to the door too. Everything you need is in the cottage and it has a lovely wood burner for which is perfect when the August weather is not! Friendly and helpful hosts.

Outstanding Facilities

By Christina on 23-Aug-2020

Moonseeker is the perfect setting for a wonderful stay in Devon. Centrally located and right on the edge of Dartmoor, the cottage is comfortable and pretty with outstanding facilities. We love to cook and the kitchen did not disappoint. The bathrooms had excellent showers with plenty of hot water. When we arrived Nicky had cleaned it thoroughly and we found it in pristine condition and had no qualms at all about covid risks. There are so many things to do within an hour's drive from the cottage that we couldn't fit it all in but some of the higlights were cycling (Devon cycle Hire) the granite way, the coastal walk from Brownsham to Clovelly and a super visit to Bude with a fantastic lunch at Life's A Beach. The farm shop has wonderful produce and there is an excellent Waitrose in Okehampton for those who enjoy cooking of an evening

This was perfect for our two dogs as well, and enclosed garden and everything you need for your four legged friends including food and water bowls, blankets, stair gates to keep them contained if needed and some welcome treats as well. Perfect location for north devon/Cornwall beaches and Dartmoor. Covid cleaning was exceptional.

A Sanctuary Against the Storm!

By Richard & Sandra Good on 02-Mar-2020

Thank you very much for another lovely holiday at Webber Hill Farm - our first at Moonseeker but certainly not our last. Weather as expected was not great but we walked every day through driving rain, hail & blizzards, knowing we had this sanctuary to come back to! Super meals at the New Inn & others you recommended. Our 9 month old working Cocker Spaniel loved it too. Of course we will be back!

Oozing with Charm

By Melissa Powell-Edwards on 29-Feb-2020

A lovely spot for a weekend get away. The cozy cottage was the perfect place to relax and recharge. The well designed two bed was not just clean and convenient it was oozing with charm. Whether you want to stay in and chill by the fire or for the more adventurous take a hike in Dartmoor this property is perfect! -You truly know a place has charm if even bad weather doesn't spoil it. Despite the stormy condition we still had a fab few days in this quaint cottage and its beautiful surroundings.

Fantastic Holiday

By Inspire19622571032 (Ann Burness) on 25-Jun-2019

This was our second visit to Webber Hill Farm Cottages. During our first visit we stayed in Dreamcatcher, and for this visit we stayed in Moonseeker - both cottages are absolutely gorgeous and completely perfect! The cottages are set in a really beautiful area, spotlessly clean, and Nicky has thought of absolutely everything that we could possibly need, and for our dogs! Lovely welcome from Nicky, and a homemade cake and wine to greet us, which were both delicious! We were so grateful to Nicky for dog sitting for us while we went to our daughter's wedding - she very kindly sat with our three spaniels for the whole time that we were at the wedding with no expectation that we would need to rush back. This allowed us to relax and enjoy the wedding without worrying - thank you so much for this Nicky! This is an ideal area for getting out and about, with easy access to a variety of attractions, and also to seaside towns like Bude where there is a beautiful soft sandy beach, and dogs allowed on part of. We love it so much here that we are already planning our visit next year. Thank you for having us Nicky!

Stunning Cottage, Tranquil Surroundings

By Thelittle1 on 29-Apr-2019

Just back from a weekend break at Moonseeker, and wow, what a place! We wanted a tranquil, cozy cottage for a few nights break, accessible to Dartmoor and both the Devon and Cornwall coasts for walking with our little dog, and that’s exactly what we got. Nicky and her husband have put so much attention to detail into the property, it really is a home from home. The bottle of wine and fabulous homemade cake on arrival was a super touch, as was the doggy soap, blanket and bone for our little 4 legged friend. The beds are so comfy and we’ll definitely return for a longer stay as the situation is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, North Devon and Cornwall. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Best Cottage We've Stayed In

By Jet28564978623 on 28-Jan-2019

The Moonseeker cottage is amazing - we loved every second of being there! From the moment I booked, Nicky got in touch with helpful directions and greeted us upon arrival with useful information such as local shops and restaurants (which is also all in a folder in the kitchen). On the table was a lovely complimentary bottle of wine and crisps which also added to the warm welcome. The cottage is warm, spacious, spotlessly clean and has everything you could ever need. It felt traditional with beautiful beams but with modern appliances and bathrooms (great water pressure in the showers). The log burner makes it very cosy and the first basket of wood is complimentary which was nice (as this isn't always the case with cottages). The beds and sofa are also very comfortable. It's our favourite place we've stayed and would definitely like to go back. You need to have a car to get to this cottage and visit Dartmoor and local towns/ villages.

Superb Little Hidden Gem

By Louise19852018 on 14-Sep-2018

On arrival we were pleasantly greeted by Nicky who showed us in with such a warm welcome. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy. The cottage was beautiful, the scenery stunning. We shall definitely be booking to come back here and have already told our family and friends all about it. 5* rating doesn’t do this place justice.
