HOW TO BOOK:
We have a secure link on our website, with an up to date pricing and availability calendar, so you can check availability for your dates.
The price of the cottage is fully inclusive of heating and hot water, towels and bed linen. The only extra is for pets, at £25 each and we provide bowls, towels and throws.
Payment is 40% deposit to secure your reservation, with the balance due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. Our website contains full terms and conditions.
THINGS TO DO:
* Dartmoor has many beautiful walks, through forests, trails or across open moor. We are close to part of the Tarka Trail, known as The Granite Way - good for walkers and cyclists.
* Hire a bike from Granite Way Cycle Hire in Okehampton and cycle to Lydford for lunch, maybe explore Lydford Gorge and the Viking stone and Lydford Castle
* Locally Okehampton Castle (English Heritage) is an interesting site to explore
* Bring your National Trust membership card - we have many properties within easy reach including Castle Drogo, Finch Foundry & Killerton House
* RHS Rosemoor is beautiful at any time of year and worth exploring, or near Christmas enjoy the lights and displays
* Beautiful Beaches aplenty - we are perfectly located for enjoying the beaches of Devon and Cornwall, including Teignmouth, Torquay, Summerleaze & Sandymouth
* Eating out - we have some excellent country pubs, full of character with roaring log fires in winter and pretty gardens in summer, serving very good food and ale

Ideal for Walks on Dartmoor
By Clive on 01-Apr-2025Moonseeker was ideally located for our week with planned walks on Dartmoor and to see local attractions. Nicky is a great host, very helpful and friendly. Though Nicky is on site, we were left totally to ourselves but had the reassurance she was on hand if needed. The converted barn is very well laid out and equipped with everything you need and very clean, home from home. Okehampton is only a mile away and offers a couple of good supermarkets and other artisan shops. Moonseeker sits just outside the town in a very peaceful location with views over to Dartmoor. We will certainly consider visiting again and can recommend Nicky as a host
You made our Christmas feel special!

The dog has had a blast. You have it so nice and it was very Christmassy with a beautiful tree and a lovely log burner. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back, you made our Christmas feel special.
Air of Calm and Peace

Local area is beautiful, close to some of the lesser known tors - stunning walks despite the changeable weather. Castle Drogo, The Dartmouth Railway Round Robin trip are a must. Thank you so much!
Amazing
By Lisa Young on 29-Apr-2025What can i say to sum up a recent stay in Moonseeker except it was amazing! Right from my original booking enquiry through to leaving to come home, the experience has been excellent. Questions are answered quickly and efficiently and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation itself is brilliant with a comfy lounge, well appointed kitchen and two amazing en-suite bedrooms with large showers and super-comfy beds. The garden is also lovely and we made the most of the nice weather to sit in the garden at the end of long days exploring Dartmoor. Whilst I travelled with a friend for a walking weekend this time, I will definitely be booking again and bringing my mum and dog back to have a slightly more relaxing time! For those of you with reactive dogs (like me!) Moonseeker would be great - in 4 days I heard/saw no-one which means everyone can relax. It's well located to explore the north moor, local villages or indeed Okehampton itself. Highly recommend the coffee & cake at both The Pump & Pedal by the Granite Way in Sourton and The Pig Pen Cafe in Okehampton! Thanks Nicky for a fabulous weekend & hope to see you again soon.
